I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with 123Umzugshelfer. Although the contract explicitly included disassembly and reassembly (Ab,- Aufbau) for my beds, a wardrobe, and a washing machine, the team refused to finish the work.

They stopped because they claimed their own time estimate was up—an estimate they calculated themselves, not me. They then demanded an extra €900+ for just two more hours of work, which is completely disproportionate to the original quote.

Furthermore, the team wasted time on the phone with their office. To make matters worse, they coerced me into paying the full remaining balance before they would even drive to the new address, only to refuse the assembly work once we arrived. I also ended up with a damaged desk, part of the wardrobe, and scratches on my refrigerator.

I provided 100% accurate information regarding my move, yet they failed to honor the contract. Proceed with caution.

Dishonest, Unprofessional and Exploitative – Avoid at All Costs!

I wish I could turn back time and never have trusted this moving company. What I went through was not just disappointing — it was traumatic, exhausting, and humiliating.

I was initially given a quote of €2,000, which seemed fair. But just days before the move, they suddenly raised the price to €3,820.99. I was told I could no longer cancel the contract. It felt like a trap — I had no choice but to go through with it.

On the day of the move (15.07.2025), they arrived with a truck far too small for my household, even though I had provided my full inventory. I immediately called the dispatcher, Maximilian, who admitted they had no larger truck or available driver and promised they would make two trips at no extra cost.

Later that evening, around 6:30 p.m., Maximilian called again to say the driver was stuck in traffic and now they’d need to charge me €1,100 more due to the extra time. I strongly refused. After a tense and frustrating back-and-forth, he said they would reduce it to €600 — which I still declined.

That's when he told me to “tip the workers €500 in cash” so they would complete the transport of all my belongings and return the next day to assemble my bed and wardrobe. I was exhausted and desperate to have my move completed, so I reluctantly agreed and paid.

Only half of my bed was taken in the first trip, the wardrobe was left for the second. The second trip was completed after midnight, clearly I was too tired to do anything else. When I asked what time they’d return the next day to finish the furniture assembly, they told me “we’re done with their job” and left. No one ever came back.I reported to the company and asked them to return , nothing was done.

Since then, I’ve been sleeping on a couch. My bed is unusable. My wardrobe remains in parts. I’ve had to lift heavy furniture myself, which has now caused me serious back pain and sleepless nights.

I paid €4,300 for a service that was dishonest, incomplete, and left me physically and emotionally drained. I was pressured, misled, and manipulated every step of the way.

This company took advantage of me during one of the most vulnerable times in my life — moving to a new home. I will not stay silent. I am currently gathering all documents and evidence, and I will be taking legal steps to hold them accountable for their actions.

Please, stay far away from this company. No one should have to go through this.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!
Pressure tactics to accept an offer via e-mail while on the phone with a representative. Beware! the contract states that it cannot be recalled once accepted, and this is allowed due to the nature of the business, ie. logistics. If you cancel or decide to go with another company, you are liable to pay the full amount. The initial contract was reviewed a number of times due to changes in the amount of goods to be transported; the cost steadily increased from 151 Euro/m3 to 191 Euro/m3 to 202 Euro/m3. On the day of the move, three workers arrived, none of whom could speak German or English. While their work was not bad, they did not handle my furniture as professionally as I expected. There was only one wardrobe to disassemble, and the worker used an electric drill to remove standard cam locks, which were destroyed in the process. Before starting work, they measured the exact distance from the truck to the front door and had to wait 30 minutes to get an updated contract from the office to reflect a new price, which had to be accepted in writing while on the phone before any work could continue. The same thing happened at the destination; the price went up again. AND be aware that the contract states that you must do a real-time transfer of the balance owed before unloading can start. The final price was 318 Euros/m3.

I would recommend to stay away from them. They are dishonest and in bad faith. My experience is terrible and they are threatening. Worst possible company. I hope they feel good taking advantage of people who don’t speak German.

Pathetic Service by Relocation service team

We had to move just 1.5 kms from old to new House, the 123Umzughelfer team is nothing but Pirates in daylight. There are here to loot money from you and not help. Help is the lost word.

First they will quote one amount, then increase the cost in one more telephone conversation and next the helpers will come on the day and for each foot step they carry the luggage they will charge a ton on money. This is to load the luggage to the truck, now the fun part for unload as well they will count the steps. NOT WORTH A SERVICE.

The helpers on ground will blame the office staff and they both are of the same ground no one to blame.

My advise please do not fall prey for this relocation service, better choose other services.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

This company is terrible. There is no continuity with staff, I dealt with four different people. They increased the price twice by 2000 Euro, the second time only a few days before our move so we changed company. We had paid 4120 Euro deposit and they will not give it back to us despite the fact that I never signed the final offer. They are unprofessional rip off artists. They do not tell the truth. Do not use this company!!

Horrible service

Luckily the workers who performed the move were actually helpful and very good. I can't say the same about 123umzungshelfer or the moving company's boss.

First, Umzugshelfer - I was initially handled by an English-speaking representative who was kind and helpful, and seemed professional. We agreed things and a price, and she said there was enough flexibility that if I forgot one or two things, it's not a problem. I was also told none of my furniture would need dismantling.

The next day, I'm handed over to another representative who only spoke German - I got by, but not ideal. I went through the list, and because of a misunderstanding about packing a bunch of glasses, she said that service would add 400EUR!!! for 15 minutes of work. As I had to move out, I had no choice but to accept. I also agreed that I would pay part of the invoice after the job was done by bank transfer.

On the day of the move, the movers arrive, and their boss asks for cash upfront - not what I agreed and not something I could do as I had a withdrawal limit. I agreed to pay part cash upfront and part bank transfer under duress from yet another 123Umzugshelfer representative (3 different people who seem to never have spoken to each other and kept saying different things about payment and increasing the fee) - but nothing to be paid at the end, very unprofessional and definitely not what was agreed. To top it off, the movers said the bedframe needed dismantling and would add another 40EUR. If I had been told that on day one instead of lied to, I would have been fine.

Luckily the movers themselves were professional, very fast and did a great job. However, their boss and Umzugsfhelfer were predatory and kept changing their words.

Don't use 123umzugshelfer! They don't partner with reliable transport companies, don't keep their words and keep changing their terms and won't admit their mistakes.

Mrs Goldmann was very nice and…

Mrs Goldmann was very nice and professional, the price was compared to almost all other companies much lower. Because of personal reasons we couldn’t take the offer, but the company 123umzugshelfer and Mrs Goldmann have made a very good impression on us.

0 stars and should be reported.

Unethical. Immoral. Dishonest.

**phone number for this company does not work, they never respond in timely and transparent way. When you ask for working phone number, they will not give you the contact details to directly contact them. The communication is one way - you email and they will call back if and when they want. When you want to make changes or cancel, they will not respond to you or provide the support to talk to anyone. They will state a lot of law clauses to their advantage, but incorrectly use them with malicious and harmful intentions. Their “legal team” will make fraudulent Statements and send demanding emails and letters of almost complete cost of relocation, coercing payments and trying to lock you in. Don’t be fooled by their illegal ways and seek legal advice first before agreeing and accepting their terms. **

Initially friendly, then the coercion to accept the “limited time offer , must accept RIGHT NOW by sending an email with response dictated by them (“I hereby accept offer”), otherwise higher cost and unavailable dates to move” - even when trying to inquire about booking 8-10 weeks before moving date.

Due to unforeseen circumstances with my sudden job loss at the planned new location, I gave cancellation notice within 10days of booking, and approximately 6weeks before the moving date (which was never confirmed as the company stated that they would only require the address two weeks from planned date of moving to be able to Organise the relocation as I did not have an apartment yet).

The company demanded 90% of the cost of moving as cancellation fee within 7days otherwise threatened court action.

They threatened with emails with incorrect law with intentional fraud, deliberately reading the law in an advantageous and incorrect way, saying they could claim 100% of moving cost for cancellation, and that their company did not have cancellation policy - this is actually not legally correct.

After making formal letters with legal guidance from my lawyers, they emailed saying that they admitted they were incorrect with The German law, previously demanding almost 90% of the cost for the cancellation... **but still demanding €915 out of €1250** because the company already incurred this amount for the organizing of the relocation (which the date was never finalized for an address never confirmed for a move planned at least 6weeks away?)

They deliberately underestimate that moving the entire contents of a 3 room apartment 600km and rebuilding the furnitures at the new location would take in total only 8hrs and only two people, therefore will not ask for the *€415* , therefore demanding the remaining €915 which is not able to be claimed for the cancelled move!
(When I moved to my current apartment 6months ago, it took 3guys almost 4hr to move the less contents and less furnishings only 6kms!)

So I still owe then €915 “for the costs that company already have made for organizing the move” - never heard of such high costs for terrible phone calls and manipulation emails.

Clearly 123umzugshelfer are dishonest with their deliberate undercalculations of costs saved from the cancelled move claiming that my move would have only required 8hrs from two helpers to move 600km away, now that they are facing questions and the law demanding that they can only claim for my cancellation cost without costs saved from the services which did not take place.

So much more to say about their dishonest actions and words. This whole company and their claims from their legal team is absurd and not according to the law or ethical. Corrupt company with terrible motives.
