Great product until the First Wash, Disappointing Customer Service
I really wanted to love Mellow Sleep because my experience started out great. I've purchased two comforters, a pillow, pillowcases, and the EasyFit Sheet, so I've invested quite a bit in their products.
When I received the EasyFit Sheet, I put it on my bed and slept on it for about a week. It fit my mattress perfectly and stayed securely in place exactly as advertised. I then went out of town for nearly two weeks. After returning home, I washed the sheet for the first time, following the care instructions exactly: cold water, delicate cycle, mild detergent, and air dried.
After that first wash, everything changed. The sheet stretched out, bunches up whenever I sit on the bed, and repeatedly comes untucked throughout the night. It no longer performs the way it did when I first received it.
I contacted customer service, provided photos, and explained the issue in detail. I was told this was "fabric relaxation" rather than a manufacturing defect, and my request for a replacement was denied because I didn't report the issue within seven days of delivery.
I find that policy unreasonable for bedding. Many people don't wash brand-new sheets within the first week, and in my case, I was out of town for nearly two weeks. There was simply no way for me to discover the problem until after I returned home and completed the first wash.
What disappointed me most wasn't just the sheet—it was the customer service. I wasn't asking for a refund on an old, worn-out product. I was asking the company to stand behind a premium sheet that stopped performing after one properly cared-for wash.
I had hoped Mellow Sleep would value a repeat customer and work toward a reasonable solution, such as replacing the sheet or offering a substantial discount toward a replacement. Instead, my concerns were dismissed solely because of an arbitrary seven-day reporting policy.
If you're considering purchasing from Mellow Sleep, just be aware that if an issue doesn't become apparent until after the first wash, you may have no recourse. That was a very disappointing experience for a company that markets itself as a premium bedding brand.
