Scammed by Wowcher and Travel Crew
We have been totally ripped off by a Wowcher travel deal involving Travel Crew.
In October, my husband purchased 2 vouchers for the princely sum of £565 for a 4 night stay on the Botel in Amsterdam with return flights. This was a surprise trip to celebrate my birthday.
Having redeemed the vouchers he was put in touch with Steven from Travel Crew who explained that the departure flight was very late in the evening and return flight very early in the morning which effectively eliminated 2 days in the city. The departure airport was also pretty inconvenient for us. Steven then went on to upsell us different flights from our local airport at far better flight times. This cost a further £198 but then the Botel was no longer available (!) and we were moved to an Ibis in the west of the city.
Whilst on the call, Steven coerced my husband into writing a Trustpilot review which he did, describing the booking process as simple despite the disappointment with the hotel and describing Steven as helpful.
We then received a ‘pre-confirmation’ email describing our itinerary with the passenger details and a request to confirm everything was correct which we did.
This email stated that we would receive all the necessary documents 2 weeks before travel (which in itself seems strange).
This didn’t happen and, when chased, Steven advised that documents would be provided 7 days before travel. This never happened. Our flight was 06.00 this morning, we obviously haven’t been able to travel and, having read the appalling reviews of Travel Crew (and other travel companies Wowcher are partnering) we realise that we have been well and truly ripped off to the tune of almost £750.
The Trustpilot reviews are misleading as Travel Crew insist on customers writing a review before they have received their holidays.
Shame on you Wowcher for dealing with cowboy companies and taking money for holidays that don’t happen and shame on you Travel Crew for your blatantly fraudulent behaviour.
We have now begun the fight for a refund .
