Extremely Disappointing Experience with Swiss Property Owners Association / Propertyowner
Our family had a very disappointing experience with this company. We were referred to them via Comparis for support in selling our apartment. During the initial consultation, we were promised a smooth and professional sales process, including access to internal member networks, property catalogs, market statistics, and more. It all sounded impressive and trustworthy.
We were told we could “try out” the service — even though we had already been in touch with another agent. There was no mention of penalties or contract termination fees. Only later did we discover that canceling the contract would cost us CHF 3,000 — a condition that was never disclosed during the signing process.
Throughout the sales period, multiple issues arose: incorrect details in listings, poor data management despite repeated correction requests, and overall weak communication. We constantly had to chase updates ourselves. There were also breaches of data protection, such as publishing our family name and license plate online without our consent.
The most misleading aspect was the claim that buyers would cover all costs and sellers would receive the full sales price. In reality, we were repeatedly pressured to lower our asking price — while the company’s commission remained disproportionately high. We found this unfair and misleading.
The agent frequently pushed us to drop the price, and when we raised concerns, there was no meaningful support from her supervisor. After consulting with other professionals, we were advised that the contract terms were neither transparent nor fair.
We feel it is our responsibility to warn others: if you’re looking to sell your property in a professional and fair manner, we strongly recommend choosing a different, more reputable company.
