Review of VeggiePets.com

Good recovery when the service was not as expected. Thank you!

Update: I accept that my email was automatically categorised as suspicious and so not received. Im very pleased with the customer service I received post purchase by the seller. Thank you!

Initial review: The most recent order had over 2 cases of wet dog food, damaged, some so badly, I was not able to open the tins. I wrote to the VeggiePets and informed them, accompanied with pictures and a video of the worst affected damaged tins.

It’s now been over a week and received no response from them.

Disappointed.

The ordering was fine and they do have a good selection of pet food, however, the delivery, which you pay for, was not great. The first I heard that DPD had tried to deliver was via an email. Both me and my wife were home at the time. I then received an email to say the 5 heavy boxes of dog food were ready to collect from a post office. I called DPD and their customer service was not at all bothered, distracted with a baby crying in the background and suggested that I make a complaint. I went to collect the 5 heavy boxes and was told that DPD had ‘abandoned’ the boxes outside the post office. The ladies had to bring the boxes in and were surprised the boxes were not stolen. They were not at all happy. Disappointingly, I called Veggie pets, left 2 messages and called them on 4 occasions but no answer nor did they return my call. Having spent almost £300, I would feel warranted at least an acknowledgment by Veggiepets.

Hi Manoj

Thank you for sharing your feedback as it helps us to make changes and continue improving moving forward.

We're deeply sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with the delivery of your order. We understand how disappointing it must have been to go through the inconvenience of having to collect the heavy boxes only to find they had also been mishandled by DPD.

While we always aim for smooth deliveries, it’s clear that DPD did not meet those standards this time, and we sincerely apologise on behalf of them. To ensure your order arrived safely, we took extra steps before dispatch, including paying additional fees to split the shipment into multiple parcels in order for them to travel better. It’s disappointing to see that these measures were voided by the way DPD handled them whilst in their care. We’ll be reaching out to DPD to investigate what went wrong here.

We take pride in being available to assist our customers and regret that we were unable to take your call. While our phone lines are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, we know this time window isn’t always ideal. For this reason we are also contactable via email or the contact form on our website.

A member of our team will be in touch shortly to discuss how we can make this right for you and we hope to improve your experience moving forward.

Review of Hilton Hotels & Resorts

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

One of the worst Christmas Party food yet!

We had our work Christmas party at the Hilton DoubleTree. Really wished we hadn’t. The food was so sub-standard! It seems that they were increase the profit margin as much as possible and trying to make it as convenient for themselves. For the starter, 3 Felafels (small and very dry), for the main, I was given polenta with some Puy Lentils, which was incredibly bland and seasoned with some salt. Thats it! I would be embarrassed serving both as a starter or sides, let alone a main. The dessert was also dry (tart) and having asked 3 waiters, they managed to bring some, oh, and water to wash it down with. The Hilton shouted luxury, it now shouts rip-off. Shocking!!

Review of The Restaurant Choice

This is a legalised scam!

My colleagues all contributed some money for my birthday and got me a Restaurant Choice card. It unfortunately expired and when I called the company to extend the card, they told me that my money was now theirs to keep!!!! Disgusting. This clearly is a scam!?

Review of Madras Flavours

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Lacks good service, respect for customers and the bottom line is profits and not customer satisfaction. We won’t be returning.

My family and I decided to opt for this restaurant as it was pure vegetarian. We were greeted well and asked to sit at a particular table. It was a great start however, the service went downhill from there. We ordered and waited for the drinks which didn’t arrive so we had to remind them. Whenever we asked for anything, a couple of the waiters showed no expression. One of the main dishes were forgotten about and therefore arrived after everyone else.

Some of the dishes were good e.g the 3 different types of dosas, idli and a paneer dish with naan bread. The 3 starters we ordered were inconsistent. The Ghee Pongal was good and the paneer 65 was slightly below average. The Chilli Mogo was terrible. The very few pieces of mogo were the side of an AA battery and were way too hard. The fork would not go through them and the portion size was disappointingly very small. The 6/8 small mogo pieces were filled out with Onions and a small amount of lettuce covered a quarter of the serving dish so expensive for what we got. I complained about it and managed to get a refund.

We also got some badam halva. This portion was the biggest joke. The portion amounted to approx 2 heaped teaspoons of halva in a tiny tea plate and covered in a layer of ghee for £4.25!!!

Overall, the dosas and idlis were good, starters were hit and miss and the desert (other than the rasmalai) was memorable, but not in a good way!

The bottom line seemed to focus on profits rather than customer satisfaction. We have been going to Saravanaa Bhavan for the last 15 years and Madras Flavours fell short on many respects and could learn a lot from them, especially the lack of good service and the bottom mine, profits. Shame. We won’t be returning.

Review of Budgetcarhire

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The rental and collection were fine BUT…

The process of car rental went smoothly, I checked the car in online and collected it from Budget at Piazza Garibaldi. Didn’t have any issues with the car, however, when collecting it, I was told that Budget is offering a service where, it can be returned with the tank partially full and the company would charge me a maximum of €83, the price of fuel would be approx. €1.32 plus taxes. I usually return cars once I’ve filled the tank however, on this occasion, I was getting late to check in to my flight and considering what I was told when I picked the car up, I decided to return it when it was 3/8 full (it cost €60 to fill the tank).
On returning, the collection representatives, who also collect for Avis and Maggiore looked at the car, turned on the engine and said it would cost me €83 as I hadn’t returned the car full. When I challenged them, they reduced the price to €69. I obviously wasn’t happy and went to full the car up myself, which cost me €25. I thought, going to a well known brand would prevent me being ripped off but I was wrong. They however felt it was appropriate to over charge me almost €60. Quite a dishonest and profitable sideline! I wouldn’t use them again (including Avis and Maggiore).

Great experience however...

Great experience however, the returns policy could be better, especially as the materials are predominantly for the building trade which tends to have propensity for delays.

Review of Autoclick Rent a Car

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Never use this company. Violent scam artists!

I returned my car after a week's rental and was informed that there were scratches on the alloys and on the back bumper. I protested that these damages weren't with me and he said he would charge me €122. He also said that that the petrol was low. I explained I had just been to fill up and having found a self service petrol station called IP in Pisa, I put €20 in the machine however could only put in €7 into the tank as the car would not let me put any more fuel into the car (the pump kept clicking as it seems the tank was full). There was no way to get a refund and could not find a way to get a receipt. I explained this and he said he would have the car checked however, I would be charged if there was space of more than €3 to be put in the car.

I also said that I had had no accidents in the car however, he said I had and tried to charge me €122 extra as I did not have full cover. With that, I was not happy with that and he said that's what you are getting charged. He said he would take the amount off the excess.

I asked for his name and he said he did not have to give his contact details. I picked my phone up to call my wife. With that, he snatched the phone from my hand, which was being charged using a portable charger, he yanked the phone so the charger wire disconnected and threw the phone on his counter. Shocked, I told him that the phone was my property and his response was, it WAS your property! He then said call the police if you want it back.

The counter was a small pedestal so I went to get my phone with which he pushed me away. I went round the counter to see where the phone was, saw it and went to grab it. He pushed me, scratching me, giving me a bruise on my wrist and leaving me with pain in my wrist. I managed to get the phone off him, telling him that I was going to complain and proceeded to leave the office. With that he said that you have your rights.

I asked the company shuttle to take me back to the airport which he did.

With me in the office, there was the gentleman who took me to the airport, another lady agent and 3 other men who were there to deliver their car back to the airport. They all witnessed the situation.

I am now left with a scratch, bruise and a painful left wrist!
