We understand your disappointment that specific regions are not listed individually. Historical border shifts and numerous migrations in Europe often make it difficult to narrow down DNA differences to more precise, smaller regions and to clearly categorise individual countries. Therefore, some categories include larger areas such as ‘Central and Eastern Europe’ or ‘German-speaking regions of Europe’.

Please note that we regularly update our ancestry regions based on advances in DNA science and a growing number of samples in our reference panel. With each update, we improve our analyses and add new regions, making your results even more accurate.
