5 weeks for installation to complete fully
We chose Lennon Solar because of their 5 star ratings, and we were impressed by Anthony, the Salesman. He was the first to not try to sell us a battery which we did not need, and he was also the only person to suggest we could get 5 solar panels on our side roof & back roof - which turned out to be incorrect, so we also had to put panels on the front roof to get the maximum grant.
While the system is working ok now, we had quite a saga with our installation (details below), between the installers not doing what we agreed with the engineer, and the seemingly lack of communication between the ground crews and the office on what needed to be done. It took over 5 weeks from initial visit, to everything fully sorted & complete, but thankfully the system is ok since then.
Tues 3rd Feb ’26 : This was the agreed installation date, but it was wet & stormy, so only some of the initial wiring could be done – the ‘junction box’ in attic was not put in the place we had agreed with Christian the engineer, and the toilet seat (under the fuse-box) was broken.
Wed 4th Feb : Roofers came & put up panels on roof – they were putting the cables out around the roof gutters (something we specifically said to Christian we did not want) until we stopped them & did them as agreed. There was no electrician with them to finish the installation that day – we were told someone would come on Saturday. We had to call the office Friday afternoon to confirm this.
Sat 7th Feb: The electrician came, but could not get the App working because the inverter kept dropping the wifi connection – he said he would have to come back next week.
Wed 11th Feb: After a number of phone calls, a different electrician came to get the wifi connected properly. We had to call our service provider and get them to split our connection into 5GHz and 2.4GHz, because the inverter could not pick up the 2.4GHz signal (as most devices can). It also turned out there had been some issue with the installation of the inverter. When the connection was established, the electrician was ready to leave – until we told him we also didn’t have the App set up on our phones – he was unaware of that issue. He tried to resolve that issue but could not because the Inverter support team had finished for the day (4pm) – so he’d have to come back again.
Thurs 12th Feb: Electrician came back again & quicky got the App set up for us.
Tues 17th Feb : Queried with Lennons if the ‘Installer Declaration Form’ we got in the post with final invoice had to be signed – it did, in order to get the SEAI grant money. Also queried the replacement cost of the broken toilet seat – they said they would re-issue the invoice with that cost deducted. Also queried the un-filled holes which were left in our attic insulation & asked if there were holes left in the felt under the roof tiles – they said the team would return to the site to action a plan for the holes in the roof.
Tues 24th Feb : Asked Lennons when would someone contact us about the roof.
Tues 3rd Mar: We were told we would have a confirmed date by COB 4th Mar for the roof visit.
Thurs 5th Mar : Got a call from someone in Lennons who thought he was ringing about fixing the holes in the internal installation – he knew nothing about the potential holes in the felt – said he would have to get back to us.
Sun 8th Mar : App stopped providing information
Tues 10th Mar: Contacted Lennons again, asking when someone would come to check the roof & could we have someone fix the App.
Wed 11th Mar: Roofers came and patched any holes in the felt.
Thurs 12th Mar: Electrician came to investigate the App issue. He had to install a wifi booster. He was also very helpful in giving us a run through on what the App shows, which nobody had done up to that point.
