The acoustics were terrible - a constant echo in the background from the presenter and I could not hear what was being said.

I am extremely disappointed with the way Fintiba has handled my case.
After I posted a negative review here one month ago, I was contacted by Fintiba and assured that my issue would be treated as a priority and resolved as quickly as possible. However, despite these promises, an entire month has passed without any meaningful progress, clear explanation, or satisfactory response.
What is particularly frustrating is that I only received attention after publishing a negative review. Once the public complaint was addressed, communication appears to have stopped again, while my money is still missing. This gives the impression that customer concerns are acknowledged publicly but not actually resolved.
I have been patient and cooperative throughout this process, yet I continue to wait for funds that rightfully belong to me. The lack of transparency, accountability, and timely communication is unacceptable for a company that manages customers' financial transactions.
I am once again publicly requesting the immediate return of my funds and a clear explanation of why this matter remains unresolved after such a long period. If Fintiba genuinely values its customers and reputation, it should take concrete action rather than making promises that are not followed by results.
I expect a prompt response and an immediate resolution of this issue.

My experience with Fintiba has unfortunately become extremely frustrating.
I funded my blocked account in June 2026 for my planned Master's studies in Germany. After a lengthy source-of-funds verification process throughout July, I eventually requested closure of the account and a reverse transfer of the funds to the original sending account.
On 21 August, I was informed that the reverse transfer would take approximately two weeks. Based on the information provided to me, I expected the refund process to move forward within that timeframe.
On 26 August, I followed up again because my account had still not been reduced to €0 and I had not received confirmation that the reverse transfer had actually been initiated.
By 3 September, there was still no change to my account. The communicated two-week timeframe subsequently passed without the reverse transfer being completed, and my account has still not been reduced to €0.
This delay has had serious consequences for me. I missed my visa and enrollment timeline and was ultimately unable to begin my Master's program this academic year.
After numerous follow-ups and communicated timelines passing without a clear resolution, I submitted a formal complaint to BaFin and informed Fintiba/FIB about the escalation.
I understand that financial compliance procedures can take time. However, when a company provides a specific timeframe for a reverse transfer involving a student's blocked-account funds, I believe it is reasonable to expect either that timeframe to be respected or a clear explanation and updated date if it cannot be met.
I will update this review if and when the situation is resolved and the funds are successfully returned.

1 MONTH - still no refund
An update on my review dated 17 August.
After 1.5 months of torment, I wanted my money back. In response to my first email (dated 28 July) asking about a refund, they sent me yet another list of documents required to verify the funds. I then wrote again to say I wanted to close my account; they replied 27 DAYS later and asked me to resend the very same documents. DEAR FINTIBA STAFF (particularly a certain Gabriel Stan), could you at least read the emails before sending yet another AI-generated reply?
Incidentally, in response to my previous review, Fintiba claimed that they had supposedly sent me an email. Of course, this was a lie; I received nothing.
Well then, complaints have already been sent to BaFin and Verbraucherschutz. Let’s see what they say.
I gained extensive knowledge about the whole process as well as the requirements for moving to Germany as a student. The ambassadors were interactive and tries their level best to satisfy everyone's inquiries. The overall webinar was fun and interactive as well as knowledgeable.
The method of presentation- that is, the opening of the session, the guidelines to follow when applying to a German university, and the suggestions for prospective applicants- is powerful, especially for a first-timer like me. I enjoyed every bit of the webinar.
It was such an informative and helpful experience.
Though, my questions were unattended to. I think due to time restraint, so I suggest good amount of time be allocated for Q&A.
Regards.

good that i attended on behalf of my Son who i am planning that he attend his Master studies in Germany in electrical and Electronics Engineering with option in Instrumentation/Automation.
At the moment, i know where to go for information, what to do and what preparation i need to make as well as when to start applying. More importantly, learning the german language.
I'm extremely disappointed with Fintiba's customer support while trying to extend my Blocked Account. It's been a frustrating, drawn-out process:
The AI chatbot on the website is completely useless and cannot resolve or even understand basic issues.
I sent multiple emails and got no response to my last two when I finally reached someone by phone, it turned out my emails hadn't even been opened.
Phone support is the only channel that works at all, but one representative I spoke to was clearly calling from outside, with so much background noise I could barely understand what they were saying.
I received inconsistent information across different calls first told to email, then told the real issue was a €4.90 shortfall in my account that was never clearly explained upfront.
On my most recent call they told me they would fix the issue, but given how inconsistent communication has been so far, I have little confidence this will actually happen without further follow-up on my end.
For a company that handles time-sensitive visa matters for international students, this level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable. My case (Support code: 006-008-142) is still not fully resolved.
Unacceptable 50+ Day Delay, Intrusive Demands, and Terrible Automated SupportI am extremely disappointed and stressed with my experience with Fintiba. My blocked account has been stuck under a compliance review for over 50 days now. Holding a doctor's money (€14,000) for nearly two months without any practical solution or human communication is deeply unprofessional and has severely jeopardized my German visa process. The funds were transferred legally via a third-party sponsor (a German citizen) from a reputable German bank (DKB). I provided full official bank statements proving that the source of the funds came legally from a regulated German insurance company. Despite this clear, fully traceable banking trail within Germany, Fintiba’s compliance team rejected the documents and demanded excessive, intrusive, and deeply personal family inheritance documents regarding my sponsor's deceased grandfather, along with certified public stamps and sworn translations. These demands completely violate privacy and are impossible to request from a third-party sponsor. To make matters worse, their customer support is virtually non-existent. You are forced to deal with an automated chatbot (Fintibot) that sends useless, repetitive generic answers. Every time you ask for a human agent, the response is heavily delayed, and the resolution process is completely frozen.I do not recommend Fintiba to anyone who has a visa deadline. Save your time, money, and nerves, and look for alternative providers who actually respect their customers and answer their queries.
What a shame to Germany to have such bad company like Fintiba.
My father transferred money from Oman, which is not a high risk country for money laundering. They’ve asked for fund source verification. We uploaded all the documents they asked for ( passport- work contact of my father stating his salary- bank statement for the last 6 months - signed statements ) .. it’s been almost a month with no change and this delay is affecting my visa application. I’m late to the start of my masters now . Calling them can’t help with anything ( they say just wait ) .. I’m gonna issue a complaint with Bafin after coming to Germany to stop this crazy nonsense.

Fintiba publicly claimed they had contacted me. Nobody did.
On 2 September Fintiba replied to my previous review, stating that their team was investigating my case and that they had contacted me by email to assist with the matter directly.
Nobody has contacted me since that review. I have checked my inbox and my spam folder on the only address my Fintiba account is linked to. There is no new message in my Fintiba account and no update on FIB ticket 9066.
I do not know what that reply was referring to. The only things I have from Fintiba are messages from weeks ago about unrelated questions, and automated replies from their bot — the one that promises an answer normally within one working day and then points you to the Help Center. There is also a Russian-language Telegram channel where a staff member answers and forwards escalation requests to the bank, which I appreciate, but Fintiba stated publicly in that same channel on 27 August that it is not an official support channel. Escalation is the only thing that can be done there, and it has not produced a decision either.
The case itself has not moved. I uploaded the complete set of Source of Funds documents on 13 July — 53 days ago. On 11 August the partner bank FIB requested additional documents. I submitted every document they asked for the following day, 12 August — 23 days ago: payslips, bank statements, employer confirmation and a cover letter explaining how each document matched the request. No deadline was missed on my side. Since then: no decision, no timeframe, no explanation.
From other customers I know of cases where the additional documents were submitted on the same day as mine, 12 August, and the blocking confirmation was issued on 26 August. That is why I do not accept high workload as an explanation for my own case still being open.
I submitted my national student visa application on 27 July. No further documents have been requested from me — the blocking confirmation is the only item still outstanding. My semester begins on 1 October.
I am writing a second review because the first one produced a public statement that does not match what I can see. A reply saying that contact has been made is not contact. What I need is a decision, or a concrete date by which one will be made.
If Fintiba does contact me about my case with an actual decision, I will say so in this same review.

Fintiba’s customer support is non-existent, and their platform is an absolute nightmare. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay as far away from this company as possible.
Trying to close my account has turned into a constant headache with zero competent support. Meanwhile, my brother and his friend was left stranded for over 3 months waiting for a simple "Proof of Source of Funds" document. Three months of total radio silence from a financial institution is completely indefensible. You should be deeply ashamed of how you run this business.
Calling Fintiba a 1-star service is far too generous; your system is completely broken.
I am taking my business to a real provider immediately. I will also make it my personal mission to publicly warn everyone—friends, colleagues, and all prospective international students asking for recommendations online—to completely boycott Fintiba and choose reputable competitors instead.
I would like to report a very disappointing experience with one of your customer service representatives during a phone call on 04.09.2026 at approximately 11.57 AM and lasted 11 minutes.
Instead of receiving assistance, the representative became increasingly rude, raised her voice, interrupted me, and told me that I was “holding the line” and that there were “more important customers” waiting.
I find this behavior completely unacceptable. I was asking questions regarding my own account and my own money, and I should not have been treated as though my concerns were unimportant.
I do not know the representative’s name or have a recording of the call, but I expect the call to be identifiable through your records and the interaction to be reviewed.
This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Fintiba, and I will not continue using your services after my current period ends.
It is evident that the bank's verification process routinely drags on indefinitely with endless, repetitive document requests, while customer support consistently ignores inquiries for weeks.
On June 22, 2026, all required source of funds verification documents were successfully uploaded to your system. For the subsequent six weeks, we received no confirmation, updates, or any form of response from the bank's customer support regarding the verification status. Due to a critical visa deadline scheduled for July 30 and complete inaction by FIB Bank, we could no longer wait and were forced to open a blocked account with an alternative provider, Edubao.
The phone support explicitly instructed us that in order to receive a refund, we needed to request the suspension of the source of funds verification and formally ask for the return of our money. We followed these instructions and submitted this request multiple times, yet no action has been taken.
On August 4, 2026, we submitted a formal contract cancellation and refund request directly to the bank's Central Complaints Office. Having received no response to that request, we have proceeded with filing formal complaints to BaFin and the Ombudsmann der privaten Banken, where we outlined all the facts stated above and attached all necessary supporting documents.
I demand the immediate termination of the source of funds verification and the return of the money to the original bank account from which it was received. Any further withholding of my funds will be treated as fraud, and I will be forced to report this matter to the police.
P.S. Do not post your generic template response here stating that 'the support team is already investigating your case and is doing everything possible to resolve it as quickly as possible.' We all know that this is a lie.
