Julia, Claudia an Amanda, lovely staff!

The NH from Utrecht at Jaarbeursplein 24 was such a cozy/opulent experience! Everything was clean and tidy and the staff, I can even remember their names! Julia, Claudia and Amanda, they welcome me as If I was part of their family and they transmit genuine love for their job! This is the type of memories that I findd exceptional and worthy to share with others! Great job ladies and also human- resources team for hire such spectacular team-members!!

Avoid this hotel at all costs! It’s a total rip-off!

This hotel is absolutely outrageous! I had booked the room, specifying that I would pay in cash upon arrival, and requested to cancel my reservation. The result: they decided to charge my credit card without my consent. Yes, you read that right: even after I canceled, they took my money as if it were a free buffet.

This is more than just a lack of professionalism: it’s outright theft, a scam organized under the guise of a “reservation policy.” The staff knows neither courtesy nor the law. Their sole objective seems to be to drain the credit cards of vulnerable customers.

If you value your money, your peace of mind, or your dignity, STAY AWAY from this establishment. I have never seen a hotel so disrespectful, dishonest, and dangerous to your finances.

I had a wonderful stay at the NH Hotel…

I had a wonderful stay at the NH Hotel in Amsterdam. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff made me feel truly welcomed. A special highlight of my visit was meeting Chef Paul Vincent. He was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the dishes, the flavors, and all the ingredients in detail.

As someone with allergies, I really appreciated how careful and attentive he was. He made sure everything was safe for me to eat and that I felt comfortable and well taken care of.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience great service, delicious food, and exceptional care. Highly recommended will visit back soon!

Great location but that’s about it

Great location, but the hotel is rapidly deteriorating

Pros:
• Right in the heart of Rotterdam, 5 minutes to Lijnbaan and Beurs
• Plenty of food options right next door (pizzeria, wok, ramen bar)
• Spacious standard room with desk, sitting area, good beds, satellite TV, and a solid fridge
• Blackout curtains, decent lighting, and a nice entrance area with a small snack shop
• Free fruit and small treats available by the elevators in the morning
• Ironing/laundry service and optional breakfast

Cons:
• Reception staff often indifferent — sighs, long waits, private phone calls
• Hallways and staircases dirty, carpets worn, water damage visible, lingering musty smell
• Food scraps left in elevator halls for days without being cleaned up
• Rooms extremely hot — no A/C, no fan, constant loud droning noise
• Bathroom unhygienic: toilet not clean, poor flushing, extra cleaning barely improved things
• Poor WiFi security, no option to cast to the TV
• No power outlets near the bed, no separate bathroom light switch (wakes everyone at night)
• Key cards spontaneously stopped working; I was locked out of my room for an hour at night because no staff could be found
• Thin walls, very noisy: slamming doors, neighbors’ toilets, even guests coughing can be heard
• Wilted flowers left standing, overall feeling of neglect and decay

Verdict:
Once a beautiful hotel, but now it feels tired and unkept. At €250+ for two nights without breakfast, the value just isn’t there. A real shame — the location deserves better.

Avoid this hotel in Barcelona calderon

Booked 3 rooms and paid €2700 + city tax.
First night air condition was not working in one of the rooms. We were - only upon request - offered complimentary breakfast as compensation.
Second night COCKROACH in the room which the Hotel removed. Upon request we were offered 20% for 1 room, 1 night amount 47€ as compenstation and after heavy discussions changed to 50% amounting to 117€ - as mentioned to the Hotel, not to my satisfaction and to follow up, but careless reply from Hotel after follow up.
Finding a cockroach in a room is not what’s expected from a 5star hotel.
Cleaning was awful throughout the stay and another room had no light and a very humid feeling despite of air con.
When a guest book a 5star hotel a certain standard is expected. This Hotel is not recommendable.

Unsafe for Families

Unsafe for Families – Disturbing Incident and Shocking Lack of Safeguards

During a recent stay with my young son at this NH Hotel in Amsterdam, we experienced something truly unacceptable. A man who was not a hotel guest entered the pool area—which had no security or keycard access—wearing overtly sexual swimwear. He tried to engage me in conversation, then exposed and showed me sex toys he had brought into the pool area, all within full view of my child.

We immediately reported the incident. The man was removed, but the hotel admitted:
• The pool doors were unlocked, allowing anyone off the street to enter
• There was no CCTV in or around the area
• The man was not registered with the hotel

In response, the hotel offered a room upgrade and one free night, but refused any further compensation, despite the traumatic nature of the event and the clear failings in guest safety.

To make matters worse, management justified their lack of access control by saying they want guests to “move freely”, and their absence of cameras by saying they “protect privacy”. This is not acceptable in a family hotel. These are not guest comforts—they are excuses for negligent safeguarding.

I would strongly caution any family staying here. The hotel failed to protect its guests, refused to take full accountability, and did not offer meaningful compensation for a situation that should never have been allowed to happen. NH Hotels need to urgently review their duty of care before another child is exposed to this level of risk.

booked nh hotel Amsterdam center

booked nh hotel Amsterdam center, arrived around 7pm, the receptionist (said he is the manager) Chris first didn t accept my driving licence as a valid document, after a discussion, he agreed but than asked the original documents of my girlfriend (in revanche?). She, as a dutch resident, did not have them with her (of course). After i paid (!) for the stay, he denied to give us the room and we had to book a new hotel!!! extremly arrogent and unprofessional!!! Will check if i at least get the money back - and after dozends of stays in nh hotels, I wonder if the customer service of nh hotels will get in touch with me?!

A perfect stay in the wonderful city of Barcelona

We had the best experience ever in the NH Collection Calderon in Barcelona. They have the best breakfast I have seen in a while, stuffed with fresh cut fruit, all kind of eggs, Catalan specialties, sweets, bread and even a morning salad bar with the most amazing guacamole! The smoothies and fresh juices are exceptional, no powdered juices here!

The hotel is well located near the Catalunya square where you can take a metro or one of the hop on buses, or visit the old town.

The hotel also has an amazing view from the rooftop pool and bar, excellent to spend a relaxing afternoon, enjoying a drink or some tasty bites.

Although a little small, the rooms are nicely decorated, very clean, yet with, in our case, a rather unpractical bathroom with a good walk in rain-shower.

All in all it’s one of those places where they do go the extra mile as to accommodate their guests, with a special thanks to Javier who made our stay something extraordinary.

Cancelled me after saying they take dogs.

Booked a hotel in pamplona with this company, they said you could take dogs, then after booking said the dog has to be under 25kg so they cancelled me. I will never use NH hotels again and neither will my friends. You have lost lots of money. Every hotel in France I have booked takes dogs, the Spanish and NH hotels are pathetic.

Turkish bread and warming baileys coffee on a cold day!!

With over 6 hours to kill before our bus back to Germany from Rotterdam, we decided to take a scenic walk, over the bridge and we stopped in at the Nhow hotel bar. The staff were amazingly attentive but not hovering which was great. We ordered a latte with Baileys a mint tea and the Turkish bread with olives. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but thought it would be a few toasted pieces of baguette and some olives we would share between the 2 of us. BUT we were presented with a wonderful big warm half loaf with cheese on top and a plate with feta cheese, garlic olive oil and black olives on top!! It was absolutely delicious and a complete bargain at just 7euros. We were able to chill out and take in the sights of the river from the 7th floor and used the amenities before heading off back on our walk. I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend if You are on a diet…

I highly recommend if You are on a diet or fighting obesity. It takes 20 min just to get the menu to order and then another 1 hour to get the food and that is if it is not too busy. Staff looks less motivated to serve You then to join as armed forces. Food prices are out of the scale for the mentioned conditions. Best thing to recommend from the hotel restaurant is the McDonalds cross the road.
Rooms are about average.

Regret this booking

We did not have such a good experience with NH Schiphol AirPort . Their “new policy” highest possible price , lowest possible service” seems to be the new standard. Our room was not clean , there were not sufficiënt towels and no water at the room. By checking-in a waiting time of nearly 45 minutes. No service , no nothing . We simply wel never book again

Don’t stay at NH City Buenos Aires

We booked NH City, Buenos Aires for 30/12/22 to 2/1/33. This period covered New Years Eve so we wanted some help in trying to find a suitable place to eat. It was so painful trying to get a response from the hotel. It took days to get in inadequate response then we’d replied and the whole saga began again. I eventually rang customer service who put me through to the hotel which did improve the communication. I tried to complain to NH at this point but there is no telephone line for complaints just bookings. I submitted a form and have yet to receive any acknowledgment or response.

On arrival at NH city we found our room to old and tired. The furniture was cheap and grubby . Wood was peeling off furniture and the walls were dirty and needed repainting. Our bathroom has visible mould on the mastic. When you had a shower them bathroom became a hazard as there was only a small shower door on the antiquated bath and the water leaked over the floor.

The swimming pool on the terrace had two sun lounges only , one was broken. There were no umbrellas , in 36 degree heat. The wooden floor was so hot it scolded your feet.
The breakfast on the 1st day was good then it went downhill. I asked for two bananas that never arrived , the pineapple had seen better days , staff was short so food was not replenished quickly .
I was very unhappy with the hotel and asked to be moved to the hotel centro Historico where it is more modern. Apparently it was full , however what Zi found appalling was the lack of concern by the reception staff . Not once did they apologise or address why I was unhappy. They couldn’t have cared less!!
I stayed in an NH hotel in Scilly and it was lovely and so were the staff. Such a different experience.
What is worse NH hide and don’t allow you an opportunity to complain.
We are returning to Buenos Aires but have managed to change our booking to Centro Historico, I hope it improves my thoughts on NH

NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market

Check in starts at 3:00, we arrived at 3:10. The employee informs us that the room is not yet ready and asks us to wait 5 minutes. 15min later she asks us to wait 5min again.... And 50 minutes later she realizes that she forgot to have the room prepared. Finally 1 hour after arriving at the hotel we receive the cards to access the room. Except there's a strong smell of weed. We open the windows and get ready to go out. When we get back we get ready for bed but a smell of weed comes back. Through the ventilation system that doesn't seem to be working. We change rooms the next day... we get a smaller bed but at least there is no longer that smell. We then realize in the bathroom that a rather disturbing smell comes back in waves and disappears. By keeping the bathroom door closed we were able to avoid this... Apart from that, the rest was okay.

NH Hotel Groningen is NOT a 4 star hotel

I booked a room on a so called 4 star hotel in Groningen NL expecting the basic 4 star services.
1. I waited in line for 15 minutes, before I was even served!
2. The hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar, but I had to walk about 2 km to a restaurant
3. Internet is free if you accept a very slow connection. If you need proper connection it costs you EUR 10,-
4. No parking. I could use the paid parking at the hospital around the corner. If I check out very early (before 9) I can get a discount!!!
5. WC flushing has to be repeated 3 times to get it clean.
6. The shower and room in general is dirty!
7. My experience as an experienced hotel guest is that this hotel is heavily overrated. It should have no more than two stars!!!

All in all this is not what I expect if I book a room in a so ´called 4 star hotel. I expect service!
