Excellent banking experience
Excellent banking experience: their mobile app makes money management simple, their staff is friendly, and their rates are good.
Disappointing experience
I have been with the Queensland Country Bank in its various incarnations since the late 1980s. I have been happy with their service until just recently. In August I purchased a course from Domestika and was advised that I had been enrolled in a free 30 day trial of the Domestika plus service. I cancelled this service on the last day of the period. A couple of days later PayPal advised that they were putting through a $583A payment for a Domestika subscription. It wasn’t showing as a pending payment on my account so I contacted the bank and asked them not to pay it. Despite several requests the payment was taken out of my pension leaving me desperately short of funds to buy food and pay bills. They told me I could cancel my debit card but as PayPal had my bank account details there was no point and I would have been left with no way to access my funds for up to a week without driving into town to the nearest branch nearly 45 minutes away. I raised a dispute with PayPal but after a month of supposed review have just been advised I lost the money forever.

We got our Mortgage through QCB - Townsville. This was about 14 months ago. The process was seamless. It all "appeared" to be automated and we just had to go sign - where they didnt rush us and they explained they whole process. Havnt looked back.

My partner recently joined QCB to see if it would help him save money and oh it has! The smart budget handles his bills so well I’m thinking of joining myself.
And the customer service is amazing, they’re so helpful and welcoming!
