Considering 81 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complained about skyrocketing subscription prices, unexpected billing changes, and an overwhelming amount of unskippable commercial breaks interrupting their favorite shows. People also noted deeply frustrating technical glitches, including continuous app freezing, severe audio synchronization issues, and suddenly missing content episodes. Channel lineup is great, but the app freezes non stop every couple of seconds. Have tried un/reinstalling, clearing cache, and upgrading internet. Nothing works, and it is very annoying

The Ark

The Ark, a television program, has been renewed and began Season 3 on July 19th. In the schedule information PHILO indicates Season 3. However, nearly a month after the start of Season 3, PHILO has NOT broadcast a single episode. Pretty poor performance for one of the most expensive platforms available.

I love philo!

I love philo. They have a lot of shows starting from new all the way to old ones. They have a great variety. The only t h ing I wish they would fix is when you scroll down the list of your show and movies and even when you are searching for them for it to go bk to where you were. Instead of going all the way bk to the beginning. Then you have to scroll all the way bk to where you were or type in the name of the show or movie you were looking for.

Your advertisements leading to a bait…

Your advertisements leading to a bait and switch scenario is why you have such low ratings. Greedy Cs like you sell a sell a promise and do not deliver. I signed up to watch The Librarians only to find out that all but the finale in season one s available. Very disappointing. Be better, be transparent and stop wasting peoples' time. If I could leave 0 starts I would have. You should be ashamed with your corporate greed.

I am not for sure about why all the bad…

I am not for sure about why all the bad reviews. I have been with them mostly from the start and very happy with them. Never had a bill issue, app works well for me. I definitely recommend!

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible customer service, way overpriced, barely anything to watch, and got charged even though I canceled my subscription before renewal. Will definitely not be back when I can literally pay to watch 3 streaming services for the price of this one with way better customer service.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I signed up for a free trial. They charged my account $27. They refused to refund me saying “Philo subscriptions are non-refundable.” I’ve never heard a streaming service not offer refunds.

I deactivated the account after 1 hour of the service. The free trial was supposed to be 7 days. They said a previous person “in my household” used the free trial previously. I explained that I signed up in an AirBnB and they still wouldn’t refund me. They are liars. Also the service sucks anyways, I never even used any of the service. Terrible selection, way overpriced. Would NEVER recommend to anyone!!!!

I love Philo

I love Philo. It has most channels that I was watching on cable for a lot less every month. I see people complaining about ads. If you had cable, isn’t there more commercials than actual show? It’s well worth the money and plan to keep it for a long time. Love the retro stations.

Blocked my acct after reversed charges on fraudulent acct

On 6/22/2026 Philo deactivated and blocked my account. I called several times to get it resolved. They said they blocked and deactivated my account because back in April 2025 I discovered someone had hacked my Amazon account and added an additional Philo account directly through the Philo website using only my phone number and my username. That fraudulent account had been open for around a year and I was getting charged twice, once through the Philo account I set up through Amazon and a second charge from the account someone set up through the Philo website. Once I caught the fraud I had my bank reverse those fraudulent charges and investigate. Philo admitted the error. Now in June of 2026 over a year later after Philo's further arbitration they decided to deactivate and block philo on all my devices. After 3 angry phone calls with Philo customer service they decided to unblock my service on my phone but my 52" tv will stay blocked permanently since that account is linked to my email I use for my Amazon account. They only way they said they would unblock and activate my vizio tv account is if I reverse the charges made on my account from the fraudulent account. That is crazy. They want me to eat the charges from a fraudster in order to have Philo on the main tv in my home. For now I use Philo on my phone and Google chromecast it to my tv. I hope to find a better service soon can cancel Philo completely.

Philo has a good selection of channels

Philo has a good selection of channels, but even more ad bloat. Programming breaks for 4-6 commercials every 5 minutes or so. They keep upping the monthly fee, and adding even more commercials. Philo is NOT worth the cost.
