Wrongfully billed
They’ve been a wonderful housing site, no doubt. I have paid for the plus subscription more than once Although I’ve never found an accommodation from them, but that’s not why I gave them a low rating.
They received this rating because I paid for a subscription on 16 June, usually I think it’s fair to assume it’s meant to run until 16 July 2026, before I’m billed again, but for some reason I was billed on 11 July (I didn’t see it at the time), but I cancelled by membership on the 15th July. Later in August, I get sent repeated mails to pay for a membership that runs from 11th July?? Of course I ignored thinking it was scam, not until a debt collection agency came and charged me 60euros, and all I wanted clarification was on why my payment on 16th June didn’t last until 16th July.
The debt agency, only said I received an invoice on 11th July, and that I have to pay. Which was frustrating because who pays for another month, when the current month is meant to still be running?? I tried to get an answer as to where this 11 July invoice came from and got nothing, the debt agency decided to reduce the fee from 60 to 40 euros. I’m still utterly disappointed this sort of thing happened, I deleted my account immediately after paying the “imposed debt” and I would never be returning to this platform.

Thank you for sharing this in so much detail, and I'm genuinely sorry to hear it escalated all the way to a debt collection agency over an invoice you didn't recognize. That's a stressful thing to deal with, and it makes complete sense you thought it might be a scam at first.
Pararius+ is a recurring subscription, it renews automatically each period until you cancel it yourself, and the renewal date, price and cancellation terms are shown clearly during signup and again in the confirmation email. Since your cancellation went in on 15 July, an invoice for a period starting 11 July would have already been generated just before that. I can't go into the specifics of your account here, since this is a public page, but that gap between your payment on 16 June and the invoice on 11 July is exactly the kind of thing worth checking properly.
You can always see your subscription status, next renewal date and invoices yourself under your account on Pararius, so a date like this doesn't come as a surprise. I've sent you a request via Trustpilot to share your contact details, so we can look into this specific invoice and the debt collection charge with you directly.

Thanks to Pararius I found a wonderful home for my sons to study in Eindhoven. If I don't give it the final star, it is because you still need to polish the multi language communication, I keep getting emails in Dutch, while I configured the account for English. I love Dutch! Only that unfortunately I can't understand it

The language mix-up is a fair miss on our part, not the most fun thing to run into right after setting your account to English. Your language setting is meant to steer all communication, emails included, so if it keeps switching back to Dutch, something isn't syncing the way it should. We'd rather fix that than have you brush up on your Dutch by accident (flattering as that is).

I ended up finding a place
I ended up finding a place, which was nice. The website was easy to navigate, and my issues were more with the rental market in general rather than Pararius itself. Towards the end of my search there was a weird glitch which caused photos to not load across the whole website. If you are serious about finding a place in NL you should definitely keep an eye out on Pararius, and I recommend a Premium subscription.

Found my current place through Pararius. It was a difficult housing market to navigate, and while there weren’t many listings in general for my market, the most had been posted through this service compared to other websites and I managed to secure a viewing through Pararius’ instant notification feature.

To make the service even better, we hope you'll consider adding some of the detailed information that the website HousingAnywhere provides, such as whether a property can be registered with the municipality, and filters for washers and dryers and heating and elevators.

good customer service but no house found
In terms of finding housing, the website was quite unhelpful. It provides an overview but almost always sends you away to another website and you end up receiving dozens of emails from registration on every single one… did not find a house through there. One good thing is that it seems to actually only post real offers as I didn’t stumble upon any scams. I had a great experience with their customer service employee Joy who resolved the issue regarding an invoice I had for a cancelled subscription quite quickly. I give 4 stars for that and the fact they don’t post scams.

Thanks for writing this out so clearly, and for the four stars even though the search did not end in a house. The redirects and the pile of emails that come with them are fair criticism. On Pararius you will come across two kinds of listings: ones agents place with us directly, where you contact them straight from the ad, and ones we have found on other websites, where the application runs through that source site. Agents are independent businesses that decide their own application route.
Good to hear the listings themselves held up, because that part we do guard closely.

THE place to find a home in Rotterdam
Pararius made searching for a home in Rotterdam much easier for me. This is where I found a home for my studies, and I found the website simple to use with plenty of listings, useful filters and a straightforward application mechanism. Definitely one of the best places to start when looking for a rental in Rotterdam.
