Poor communication and lack of care during youth trip
Our experience with Summer Bash during a youth trip to Albufeira for six boys aged 17 was very disappointing.
Before departure, the accommodation was changed several times. The original villa was no longer available and another villa was later cancelled due to a swimming pool safety issue. As parents, we were offered alternatives, but the information was not always clear or verifiable.
Upon arrival, it turned out that the address provided beforehand was incorrect. Summer Bash later acknowledged this. For a trip involving underage teenagers, this is a serious issue. Parents choose an organised youth travel company because they need to trust that their children are in safe hands and that accommodation details, guidance and communication are reliable.
The photos of the final accommodation were also not properly visible or verifiable to us beforehand. None of the parents were able to clearly review the final accommodation before the boys travelled.
There was also an issue during the stay: our son was made to pay €150 twice for nightclub wristbands, even though he showed that he had already paid. The refund only came several days later after repeated follow-up.
The compensation offered does not reflect the repeated issues, stress for both parents and teenagers, and the loss of trust.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend Summer Bash to parents of underage teenagers.

The lead-up to the trip for the boys was already problematic: they had to pick a new villa twice. One villa turned out to be double-booked, and the other had loose pool tiles. Ultimately, the boys were dropped off at an apartment, instead of the large villa that was booked. Unbelievable, but true! The organization did not feel the need to inform us about this, stating they were busy enough as it was... At that moment you can't do anything, because it is high season.Normally, we would have chosen a different provider long ago during the lead-up, but because Summer Bash promises 24/7 guidance for the youth, we remained loyal to them. However, they did not think it was necessary to come and check or help when one of the boys needed an ambulance. Furthermore, the parents received a message about this that was incorrect. On top of that, the boys made a double payment to the organization during the trip, which was supposed to be refunded immediately. After a lot of insistence, this finally succeeded after 5 days!In short: what should have been a summer celebration ("summer bash") for both the boys and the parents ended up in a major disappointment. We did not get the villa that was booked, and we did not receive the support that was promised.

Nice People! Good organized activity's, had a fun time there.

An experience to never forget!
I had a great holiday in Chersonissos with summerbash! Really a week full of fun ;) The summerbash crew were always there for us and they made sure we had a good time.
I would definitely recommend to go on holiday with summerbash! :)

For someone that has a lot on his plate throughout the year, it’s nice to go on holiday and not organize anything.

A few minor points that I’d like changed but nothing of the biggest necessity.

Location: Ayia Napa is great!

Thanks to Marie & Marie-Lune for the great week! People sometimes forget but they are a big part of why this trip was very good!

As a parent: not amused! Son got in a fight in Lloret with his friends. They had to go to the hospital: surgery on hand. No information from Summerbash. They did not contact us at all. Kids are totally free to go out till 8 am and get wasted everynight at age of 16.

It was a really nice trip! There were more than enough activities offered by Summer Bash, such as; Water park, Jeep Safari, Party boat, Diving,... Highly recommended

The holiday in lloret was great, everything was well organized and the monitors were fantastic.
They also helped us make new friends, and Summer Bash had the best activities.
It was a vacation to remember for sure.

I LOVED the experience. It was my first ever trip with a lot of freedom so i was a bit nervous but the monitors made us feel relaxed which was GREAT. The best thing about this trip was that you didn’t have to stick with the monitors at all times and had the freedom to do what you wanted. The memories me and my friends made with summerbash will never be forgotten. We would definitely do another trip with summerbash in the future!!!

Just got home from the trip of my life! Met the nicest people and had the best time. Our monitors were very helpful and were there when needed. They were also part of the fun and connected with everyone who came on the trip. We couldn’t ask for beter! It was a week full of friendship and adventure! From tanning on the beach to partying in the clubs, everything was possible. Great weather made this even beter! Definitely planning to go with summerbash next year again!

Lloret was amazing! Our monitors were very chill and definitely knew how to make an awesome vacation.

10/10 experience. The Canoeing is tyring but very enjoyable, I recommend being in good shape before this camp. The camping experience with the shelters and tents was very fun when it was dry, since clothes could dry and we could enjoy a swim. The food was good and there was always enough for eveyone to have seconds or even more. Leadership was great company although map skills a little lacking :) Thanks everyone!

What a bad luck! Of the 10 days on the road, it rained for six days.

Language differences between the Netherlands and Belgium also proved tricky. Subiet is straks and straks is ' will come again sometime today'.

I don't blame Summer Bash for that. What I do blame them for is that communication and clarity were rather disappointing. Promises that the camp leadership would be well informed turned out not to be fulfilled. The 'experienced leadership' were three young people aged between 18 and 25 who brought as experience that they had done the trip before as participants.

Uncertainty was not only for the participants, the leadership was also often uncertain. That is not what you want on a guided trip. It was therefore logical that questions were ignored or not answered. There was no consultation with the participants, mostly just commandeering.

Of course it is a survival. But what was promised was a survival where you can count on experienced leadership. And on some sort of sense of belonging. The lack of that leadership made it a real survival. And that's an unpleasant experience.

I absolutely loved the experience, because my monitors Arthur, Pricilla, and Romie, made it an unforgettable trip for us all, they were responsible but fun!! They made sure everything was okay with us at all times, and let us choose how we build our vacation. They had a lot of patience and made us feel safe. It was the first time working with summerbash for me but DEFINITELY NOT THE LAST ONE. I will miss them all a lot and I’ll be coming back!

The crew made the vacation unforgetable! The atmosphere was amazing. Definitely going again next year!
