UNTIL you check out, then it's clear it's only for the first 2 months and ONLY if you ALSO transfer the energy utility contract to them.
If you don't want to transfer it's €12 for the first two months?
In my opinion this is false advertising and targeting old people to clearly mislead and deceive.
If they already use deceiving tactics for getting new customers I am frightened to know what tactics they use with existing customers.

I was cold called about switching my energy provider to Mega. The person who called me implied he was from an energy comparison service, not from Mega itself but he was pushing very hard for me to sign a contract with Mega. Not only that, he told me that there would be no penalty for switching even though I’m currently locked into a 3 year contract with another provider. I signed the contract knowing that if all the claims he made about how much better Mega is were false, I could cancel. So today I got an email from my current provider. The penalty for switching is over €700 :) needless to say, I’m cancelling the contract with Mega and won’t ever be returning. He also told me to ignore all the reviews on the internet after I said I would be checking reviews after hanging up the phone. Lol.
Despicable sales tactics.

Let's start with the positive points:
+ They are inexpensive
+ The mobile plan includes the UK in the roaming
+ Their app gives the users quite a bit of control over subscription and information on their usage
+ I had a very good contact with one of their support personnel
Negatives:
- They don't manage the accounting very well
-They cannot reimburse when they overcharge you, they can only create a note of credit
- When they apply the note of credit, they first overcharge you again so it becomes a zero transaction*
- I had a not very pleasant contact with a support person
* I was billed 8 euros instead of 2 euros, so they created a note of credit for 6 euros. The next month, they first overcharged me 6 euros again and then applied the note of credit. I called and they claimed that this was normal but that next month it would be fixed, but I have my doubts. It's not the 6 euros that bothers me, but that I lose an hour of my life every month dealing with the incorrect accounting every month plus the stress that goes with it.

After six weeks, I decided to leave MEGA. That alone says a lot.
The list of things that went wrong is far too long, but one comparison is enough:
MEGA charged me €277.71 for just 44 days, while my new (and previous) supplier ENGIE charges €620.46 for a full year.
On top of that, the experience was exhausting. Marketing is pure lies, customer service is rude, and contract & billing were riddled with mistakes — from the customer name to the contract type and the rates applied.
Overall, a frustrating and very disappointing experience, with complete lack of transparency and professionalism. I would not recommend MEGA.

Extremely unhelpful and requires a free loan to Mega of three months to start a contract. To be avoided.

I moved from orange to super affordable mega mobile service. Sera assisted me with all. it was very straight forward and user friendly. definitely recommend the move unless you want to pay more for the same service. Ugur
Ok. Yesterday i wrote above comment and put 5 stars however i think need to update it completeley after the experience i had today.
briefly here it is:
i have energy contract with Mega and decided to move from Orange to Mega and started process for 5 mobile numbers in my family. However the transfer process is so complicated and the mega staff does not make it easier at all.
I ve transferred from telenet to proximus and organge several time. there is usually easy transfer number provided on app and you simply pass it to the new provider and done.
However with mega you get lots of questions to finialize the transfer; business or private phone prepaid or subcription etc. then you get customer numbers of each phone at your former provider. if you are patient enoiugh to come to this stage then you have to know the 16 digit sim number on the simcard. I tried to understand how to finalize this because it has been ages since i havent used phisical sim. (this is iphone 16 which takes both esim and physical sim). i told the customer agent that i dont have physical sim from former provider therefore i cant finalize the quiestionnaire which is necessary for the transfer. i was told if i dont have these numbers they cant transfer to new provider because mega doesnt have esim, but actually i demanded physical ones as i can still use them. then she realized that there is a simnumber somewhere on the phone even it is e-sim. OK. looks like this is not impossible if you are patient enough to teach all these to other family members and pass the exam and finally be a mega subscriber! all in all, i found it so user unfriendly to pass onto Mega and stay a known brand until Mega discovers easytransfer number.

Never had any issue with Mega. Even if I was/am on a 100% online plan, they still answer the phone to provide their help. Their prices are amongst the lowest. And if you’ve found something cheaper elsewhere, there are some bundle offers available through some specific organisations (look for them up on Google). I was this close to leave for one of their concurrent, before coming across said offer and cancelling my provider switch.
Mega is fair and square. Never had an issue with them in almost 10 years, and don’t think I ever will. As long as they keep their prices low, I’ll be a happy customer.

This is a very friendly advise. STAY away from MEGA. Pay your bills a bit more expensive with ENGIE but stay professional. Stay away from MEGA to avoid have headache, keep sending you big bill with HOPE that they will someday refund you. They are SCAM. Never allow them to access your account. NEVER send them any deposit. for a 33sqm flat, they are sending me 238 Euro per month!!! and they dont reduce it, they asked me 200 Euro deposit, till today, after 3 months, I paid them 950 Euro, my entire annual bill with Engie was only 580 Euro!! You can see the scam yourself! They say they will refund, but god know how and when!

Got charged for an automatic payment they seem to not have triggered. Contacted them, 25 days later still no answer. Resilied and went elsewhere

Not really a transparant company. My electric bill last year said I used 150% of the year before. Didn't think much of it at the time, but this year my electric bill is the same as 2 years ago. The thing is, you cannot see anything about your usage. The only statistic you get is a yearly overview. It's 2025 people! That year costed me an extra 1000€. Good luck contacting customer service, every link on their site just directs you to a FAQ with one line of 'explanation'.

My first bill is 420€ and have to pay it within 1 week. This is considered very cheap gas according to mega. In reality I pay more then 1/3 more then what I actually consume. Also, when you aren’t that rich it will result in the permanent loss of their promotions so you really have to pay that within 1 week
Communication is really bad and they where not available by phone when I had a question or complaint.
They also forgot to communicate that there was no gas delivery yet at my new address. So when I moved to the new address it was freezing cold.
ENGIE direct indexed was way better.

I left the MEGA to go back to Engie following an unstable year with constant increase of the monthly estimation. The final increase I received was for more than 1000 EUR/month compared to 145 EUR when I signed up. The monthly payment I made proved to be heavily inflated as after leaving the company I received 1500 EUR back. I have no trust in MEGA and would like to know how they use the money sitting on their bank account rather than on yours all year.

We finished our contract with Mega because we were moving out and they calculated the final invoice 2 months later even when there was another person living in the apartment (and yes, we sent them the form for finishing the contract and the pictures of the meter right on time). We contacted them several times to find a solution but they never cooperated with us. We are really disappointed and upset with this company, we can only warn everybody not to hire their services. We just received a letter from a lawyer asking for the money they are claiming, when according to our calculations, we should be receiving some money back. Totally abusive practices, we give one star because we cannot give negative numbers.

It’s a scam company so you better stay away from Mega. This kind of companies should be banned in Europe. To begin with they lied to me to persuade me to switched to them from my previous supplier and sign the contract with them. They literally said that according to the price of Mega I will pay instead of 180 euro a month 160 euro a month. When the first bill arrived, it was 415 euro. When I called them to find out why i received this bill, the customer service representer started to shout at me. I tried to talk but he did not let me say anything, at the end he hanged up. At the same day I returned to my previous supplier. The good thing I learned my lesson to don’t trust any sales representer.

DON'T TRUST MEGA ENERGY
I needed an energy contract immediately, according to customer service (email) I had to sign up first and then they could help me further. Once I did that no one responded to my email. Mega is a scam and I want to cancel my sign up as soon as possible, but no one is responding to my email. Can anyone possibly help me!
