What an awful company.
"Get a fast free quote" they tell us. It took 2 tries sending them my information before I got an email reply. Then they wanted more information and later more information. And finally nothing back. A whole day wasted. Next day after 3pm I finally got a quote of over two and a half times what I paid another company to move (€750). What an awful company.

Grand Piano(UK to Italy) delivered and re-assembled well, with no damage or anything missing!
The removal team of two kept me informed about my proposed delivery date which was useful as they lost a day at Italian customs and had to re-plan their route and deliveries due to the time they lost.
They overcame significant challenges to get the piano from the lorry to the house, including stairs and a steep incline! They did a great job overall!

Complex move. Highly Recommended
I used Matthew James for a multi-city removal to both the Middle East and Europe. Everything went very smoothly, from the initial home survey to the day of the packing. Communication with the office was clear and responsive. The on-site packing crew was polite, hard-working, and careful with the packing. While the middle-part consignment is still on its way, the European part has been delivered, and the crew was also fantastic, and there were no issues/damages to report.

Lloyd and Harrison were very polite and organised and treated us with respect on what was a large move.
The quote process was smooth and quote acceptance and delivery of packing materials went well. I would have liked a better communication as we got nearer to move date as this was a long move for us and would have liked to have had better communication over the moving days. When questions were raised these were answered satisfactorily.
Lunchtime on packing day a number of other staff arrived to assist in packing as we had a lot of items to be moved (this was well known prior to the move date, but I think the company had multiple jobs are were trying to make best use of their staff to complete all the requested jobs). I found these staff to be rushing and slightly uncaring of our possessions. we had some damage to furniture they were moving and to wall at the property where a bookshelf was blown over whilst awaiting packing.
Im glad that Lloyd and Harrison completed the actual move and were with us the next day when unpacking took place they could not do enough to help us move into our new home and waited reassuring us whilst when awaiting the keys to be released.

Great experience and competitive price
The experience, from the initial visit, to packing and moving was great. The price was not the cheapest, but was competitive overall.
The staff was friendly and professional, our furniture handle with care, and the communication smooth.
It took about 3 weeks to get our furniture due to the grouping, but that was part of the service we took. The only drawback was the 7-days windows for the insurance claim we missed thinking we had longer. It was a minor issue, and Matthew James compensate, so great customer service.
I would recommend moving with them.

Despite the intense heat carefully just got on with the job and as the lift in my previous property wasn't reliable, took everything down 2 flights of stairs. MJR responded fast with acceptable…
MJR responded fast with acceptable quote for “Bronze Service”, this adequately covered packaging and transport from London to Berlin (as part load, not required immediately).
The UK team were helpful, the declaration for German customs caused a slight hiccup - it was sorted out.
10 weeks wait for part load, suddenly 24 hrs notice for packing/collection, seven days later the load left UK with Matt & Alan, a week later they reached Berlin.
Matt supplied information of planned arrival 24 hrs in advance, with notification of subsequent delay and new arrival time. The delivery was spot on time. Alan and Matt were extremely helpful, very diligent, handled load with great care, removed packaging, cleared remains away and enquired whether furniture should be placed elsewhere. It was a great pleasure to meet two conscientious, dedicated and extremely polite members of MJR’s team!
The service provided by Matthew James Removals for transporting goods from London to Berlin is good and can be recommended! The crew are excellent!!
