A shockingly outdated and discriminatory lending practice
I was genuinely stunned to discover that Lend.ch rejects loan applicants based solely on nationality (EU NATIONALITY!!!) — even when the person is a legal Swiss resident with a stable job, a high salary, and flawless paperwork. In 2025, this kind of policy feels like something from another era.
For a company that claims to be modern and “Swiss-fintech,” this is an extremely embarrassing look. It’s the kind of practice you’d expect from an unregulated lender, not from a company positioning itself as a serious financial service.
If you are an expat, EU citizen, or anyone who values fairness and transparent criteria, I strongly recommend thinking twice before trusting Lend.ch with your personal information. Their policies appear to be far more rigid and exclusionary than they publicly admit.

We clearly reject the accusation of discrimination.
We do not decline loan applications based on nationality.
We finance borrowers with many different national backgrounds.
Each loan application is reviewed individually and based on defined criteria.
These include creditworthiness, income situation and documentation.
An application can be declined even with complete documents if the overall assessment does not meet our criteria.

As a lender I have worked with lend 3 times - every time it has been a great experience for sure. They are fast and understanding and not complicated to work with - always a pleasure and easy - and their rates are super competitive to say the least.
