The most annoying car rental ever

Whilst staying in Sopot, rented a car with pick-up at Galerie Metropole (a mall in Gdansk). At the agreed time we spent about 15 minutes searching for the office in the mall and calling them, with no one answering the phone. Tried also calling their 24 h service, same result. Ended up calling the airport office and wohoo, someone answered. I was told that they did not have an office in the mall but a driver would bring the car. Oh yes he did, 1 h 40 minutes after the agreed time and after several calls to the different numbers; again, the only place that did answer was the airport office. I wanted to return the car EARLIER but again, absolutely impossible when nobody is PICKING UP the phone. Do get your customer service in order. Do not recommend this to anyone.

Probably the worst car company we have used. They gave us a car which broke down on day 2 and we had to jump start it every time using borrowed jump leads. We called to report the fault and they said someone would pick the car up at 3am, but offered no replacement vehicle. We had to jump start the car before driving it to the airport. We called to explain that we would be unable to fully refuel the car as it keeps on breaking down and they wanted to charge us £120 for refueling. We took the car to the petrol station near the Kaizen (I mean Shaizen) office, filled her up and it wouldn't start to had to leave the car at the petrol station. No apologies, no compensation and then they charged by 300 zloty due to cleaning costs as the car was apparently 'excessively dirty' - it wasn't. My bank's fraud team have opened a claim against Kaizen for the cleaning costs. Very bad company - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

No hustle,fast and friendly service. Car was provided clean in good condition. No problems upon returning.

Kaizenrent was mostly good. Our car worked well for our needs and the price was excellent. I would rent from Kaizenrent again, but I would also take some extra precautions.

The pickup process was a little confusing. The car wasn't very clean, the floors had not been vacuumed and the glass was dirty is some areas. The car had a large damaged area near the driver door. While this was documented in the contract, it wasn't explained clearly at pickup. This caused me to stress about how I would have to fight Kaizenrent to avoid paying for someone's damage. I took detailed photos and video of the vehicle when I picked up and dropped off. I recommend this to everyone renting a car from any rental company. In the end, this turned out to be a non-issue as it was already documented.

Some of the terms in the contract are very obscure. The fact that renters are responsible for general maintenance, as I read it, include oil changes and tire rotations. However, there is no specific schedule to do this because the car's user manual wasn't in the car.

The contract states that a Kaizenrent agent must sign off on any existing damage and be present during pickup and dropoff, presumably at the vehicle. Furthermore, renters should receive a written statement of the car's condition upon pickup and dropoff. None of these happened. It seems that the contract is written very strictly, but terms are only selectively followed.

In hindsight, I would have done the following:
- Request a copy of the contract weeks before pickup so I could review all of the arduous terms.
- Requested another car at pickup without damage.

Great service upgraded me to a BMW from the Corolla I booked! pick up and return was easy. Will use again!

Smooth and fast pick up.

Can’t fault Kaizen rent at all, the cars are good condition, the staff are very friendly and efficient and the deposits get returned quickly! kaizen is my go-to car rental when in Poland. :-)
