You pay £2 for a pack of mix that produces 6 or 7 biscuits, it costs energy to bake them, and you oblige yourself to wash a mixing bowl, a rolling pin, a cookie cutter, and a worktop or rolling sheet, a mixing spoon and a baking sheet/tray, all to make 7 cookies. Tesco's chocolate chip cookies cost 85p for three, there's no (direct) energy cost, but for the cost equivalent of this mix, you get about 25 Tesco ones, and avoid the washing up...
As an exercise in teaching a child a simple, first, baking exercise, it's OK, but without the measuring and weighing, it's a simplistic exercise... But success is virtually inevitable...
