Very straight forward and easy to use.
Competitive and covered everything I required.

I was very fortunate to have Euan answer my call. He was very polite, professional and explained everything in great detail which was much appreciated. His help, knowledge and guidance ensured I selected the correct option in respect of my House Alarm system which I then took the time to check it properly. His patience and guidance was excellent.

I have found in recent years that Aviva is best value for cover and good online related discounts. I did not rate at 5 because their renewal reminder increased property value 16% in the year and the premium went up a good bit. I ended up renewing through an online broker with Aviva for the same cover for €200 cheaper than renewal price and a slightly smaller property valuation increase that was more realistic

Very easy to complete

Easy to navigate. The Prompt to check the replacement cost is realistic and prevents a person from over insuring the real value of replacing your home. Very competitive prices especially if you have a combined car and home.

Clear layout, simple process and overall very efficient.

I called Aviva today to renew my car insurance not sure if I was going to stay with this company but I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of speaking with James. I find car insurance stressful and the jargon confusing but not today. James explained everything in detail and had no problem answering the many questions I had for him and explaining in terms I could understand. Unfortunately it's rare to get someone like James who has a genuine interest in the customer. Because of this experience with James I was very happy to renew with them and I hope I can stay with Aviva for many more renewals.

No Reward for loyalty- just a kick in the teeth.
Looking for proof of driver experience to add to an additional policy with the same provider….!
4 phone calls and 3 incorrect letters later to then be told we can’t provide what evidence of temporary cover. It’s against our policy.
Car 3 policies, home and travel insurance. 10yrs plus.
Won’t be renewing

What a rip off insurance company. Last year paid approx 500 euro. Quote for this year is almost 1000 euro. Same car, same details, no claims and no explanation. Shame on you.

Just renewed my car insurance with an excellent advisor called Maria in Aviva Galway.
The level of customer service and professionalism was 2nd to none.
Maria made the whole experience easy and understandable.
She is a very valuable ambassador for her employer. 
Unlike other insurance companies, there was no long wait time, and I was put through to a human being almost immediately.
And – – this is important – – she spoke perfect English with a local accent. So I could understand what she was saying throughout.
Based on this ongoing experience, I remain a fan of Aviva 


My car insurance is up for renewal now in a few weeks. I wanted to stay with Aviva but the price doubled from the year before. Granted I changed my car it's still very expensive. I quoted it on their website and it was €200 cheaper and when I asked could they match that price I was told no and that I had to reapply and start over again to get the better price. When I shopped around I was able to get the exact same deal for €335 cheaper. How can their be such a massive difference in all these companies? I felt completely ignored by Aviva and they didn't seem to care whether I went with them or not. I would never go back to them for another quote and their customer service is shocking. I felt like I was inconveniencing the person I got talking too. I'm glad to know this now so I can go to a more reputable insurer. Even with my new car I was able to get the insurance cheaper than last year with Aviva and my old car.

Its really complicated renewing the policy online. I was trying last week and an error happened and locked me out for 15 minutes. As they dont work on saturdays not able to contact customer service. I ended up taking a new policy today as it expired yesterday and not letting me renew. The online renewal shouldnt be this time consuming. I ended up paying 200 extra also no support on saturday and sunday.

I have been a loyal Aviva customer for many years and have shown a great deal of patience, but enough is enough. I have now been waiting nearly 7 years for a claim to be finalised, and it is completely unacceptable that this is still unresolved.

Throughout this process, I have been forced to personally chase not only the Aviva claims representative but also the third-party insurance company just to get basic answers and move the process forward. Time and again, I have been met with delays, repeated excuses, and no real progress. Even more frustrating, I have had the same conversations and made the same requests several times this year by both phone and email, only to be asked the same questions again and again.

I made an official complaint nearly a year ago and received a small compensation payment for the poor handling of the case, yet the claim still remains open. That says everything about how badly this has been managed.

What makes this even harder to accept is that most of the claim has already been settled, and the remaining balance from the other insurance company is less than €500. But for me, this is no longer just about the money. The bigger issue is that the case has still not been formally closed, and this ongoing open claim is preventing me from moving on and migrating to other insurance providers.

Aviva, this has gone on far too long. A loyal customer should not have to spend years chasing a case that should have been resolved long ago. This now requires urgent action and a proper final resolution.

I will be posting updates here from now on until this issue is fully resolved.

UPDATE: I am happy to say that this claim has finally been settled after this post, quickly and with a good result finally. Thank you to Danielle from Aviva for her assistance in this process.

I received a quote which was substantially more expensive than competitors. Having been with the company for many years, I rang their call centre to see if they could improve the quote. The agent I spoke to was remarkably inflexible, disinterested and disinclined to help. I was more or less told "That's it, either renew or don't", so I didn't and moved to another insurer. They will not make any profit from my custom this year; a small thing perhaps, but if enough customers receive the same treatment....

It will be interesting to see if they reply here with their generic -

Take care The Team at Aviva"

- as they have to every other complaint. That's the kind of robotic, uninterested response which made me move from them in the first place. I did write to them about the matter but unsurprisingly, they have not replied.

UPDATE: Yep, they did exactly what I thought they would and replied with a generic response - they barely altered their wording. This makes it clear that they are not really reading these reviews and are just lazily copying and pasting. Just the attitude I was complaining about in the first place!

Found Aviva very helpful with our car insurance. Very user friendly website to insure our home online.

A very competitive quote that better my current deal by over €200. Online process easy to navigate and backed up by very efficient and professional guidance from Aviva rep over the phone to clarify a few matters.

Layout very straight forward & easy to complete

I requested a data subject request with Aviva pensions, all I wanted was one phone call recording.
Why if the rules allow 30 days for companies to respond do they always seem to fail to meet the timelines?
I made it absolutely clear i just wanted one phone call recording please can anyone explain why 30 days isn't enough time!!!

Just received email from them stating it will take another 4 weeks!!
How do organisations like Aviva get away with blantent rule breaking is beyond me.
