In Szczecin/Poland when Carfree agent authorizing my caution for Toyota C-HR, he charged my Canadian MasterCard for 5000 zł, and a few days after car was returned he charged my MasterCard again for the second driver without my consent. When you are dealing with such rental company, remember you should always take "caution" to avoid scams, overcharges, and unauthorized recurring payments...!

I would not rental a car here
I would not rental a car here. First of all as my prediction I do not get my reserved car model which is Toyota RAV4 you put on your official web site during my reservation process. My friend had a trip to Japan and gets the same car model as they see on the Japan car rental website. Second, I may be wrong that you said on the web site your rental car is good for snowing day since the tire are snow tire; however I pay extra $20 Canada dollar when I pick up my car at your YVR counter because your representatives suggest me to do so. As a result I pay extra 500 Canada dollar for my rental cost. Also, it is a culture issue that you provide me a car with 44 on the Licensee plate; for a Taiwanese it is almost unacceptable number because in our culture 44 means die twice. How can I drive a car with this 44 number. To sum up, this rental experience is a very uncomfortable memory.

First of all, regarding the vehicle model, we would like to clarify that only a vehicle category is guaranteed at the time of booking, not a specific model. This information is clearly stated on our website. The Toyota RAV4 is provided as an example for the category, but it may be replaced with a similar vehicle.
Regarding the additional charges for winter tires, please note that winter tires are included in our rates when they are mandatory in the province of pickup, such as in Quebec. However, in Vancouver (British Columbia), winter tires are not mandatory, which may explain why additional fees were charged locally by the rental company.
Finally, concerning the license plate number containing 44, we fully understand that this may have caused discomfort due to its cultural significance. We sincerely apologize for this situation, even though this type of assignment is unfortunately beyond our control.
We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and remain at your disposal to assist you.

Road trip of dreams 🇨🇦
We used Authentik Canada for our 2 week road trip around the rockies 🏔️. My partner and I opted for the T Scout camper, collecting in Vancouver and drop off in Calgary. The camper had everything we needed and more! What we liked about the Scout was that it wasn’t a ridiculous size and we felt confident as Brits driving across Canada for the first time. The scout had a comfortable double bed, dining area, hob and sink. With lots of windows for air and a sizeable heater to keep us warm on the late September mornings
Throughtout the booking process Authentik Canada was super helpful answering all of my questions and I’d like to thank Alyssa who was looking after us throughout the booking.

Each one was different and lovely in its own way. The activities we had scheduled were varying and quite fun. The highlight was viewing a blue whale for an extended time on our whale-watching tour out of Tadoussac.

The ability to have a zoom call to discuss the holiday and what we wanted to achieve was great
All of the campsites we booked through the company as didn’t want the pressure to arrange ourselves . They were all fantastic in their own way.
The road book is a superb touch and we definitely saw more of the country because of it. They booked our excursions too and the ones they recommended were all good fun
The RV company Fraserway’s- highly recommend . RV was fabulous and the ability to rewatch the help video certainly aided us 🤣
If I had any negative feedback the first campsite had no reception and there was no campsite in our name . We found two that said Canada so we picked one of the sites with fingers crossed. Because the campsite was booked in the company name the booking agents would not speak to us so frustrating .

Our experience was highly disappointing…
Our experience was highly disappointing due to poor planning and lack of flexibility. The itinerary felt very much like a conveyor-belt, one-size-fits-all package, with little effort to tailor it to our needs as a family of 4 with 2 young children (ages 2 and 7).
We were expected to drive 4-5 hours per day, which is not enjoyable or practical with small kids. On top of that, we were scheduled to catch a 5-6am ferry from Vancouver Island just to return the RV by 8-9am. Completely unreasonable and unnecessarily stressful. As visitors from overseas, we were unaware that ferry bookings needed to be made well in advance (we booked 2 days in advance and the time spots were fully booked). This could easily have been flagged or discussed during planning.
The itinerary also didn’t allow enough kilometres for the trip, and we were penalised for exceeding the limit, even though we followed the planned route with no deviations. Again, this points to poor planning.
Overall, the experience was unpleasant and stressful from start to finish. We even had to book additional campgrounds ourselves to break up the long driving days. Communication was lacking, the agent was defensive rather than helpful, and the entire process felt rushed and impersonal.
A very disappointing experience and certainly not one we’d recommend.
