Can only "chat" with an AI bot that really doesn't have the knowledge to answer the questions. At some point we should be able to speak to an actual human being. Looking to change CRM's due to lack of support once Active Campaign has our money.

As a busy self-employed person, I need an easy and efficient way to keep in contact with my clients. ActiveCampaign has been by far the easiest system to use (and I've tried a lot). Their recent AI assistant is also amazing. I recently needed to update my list, and being able to tell an AI just to add these people, remove these people and check for duplicates was amazing. The AI then set my newsletter out for me.
Mixed bag. I got the automation somewhat setup, but it is hard with all the updates and developments to keep up.
The AI support isn't as great. Customer Service via AI is also just alright.
As a head of marketing running a lean team, I need tools that let us move fast, and ActiveCampaign delivers. We build emails, landing pages, and forms in one place, and their AI tool makes it quick to go from idea to launch. Reporting is clear and easy to act on, so I can see what's working and adjust without digging through spreadsheets. The automations are where it really pays off. Follow-ups, nurture sequences, and segmentation run in the background, which frees our small team to focus on strategy instead of manual sends. Their onboarding process was very thorough and helpful as well. If you need an all-in-one platform that's easy to build in and easy to measure, I'd highly recommend it.

Very solid platform for our needs.
Occasional lapses in connectivity and updates can be confusing at first. Overall though, we've used the platform for several years and love the functionality. AI tips are hit and miss, but do help overall.
We're not the most tech savvy here, so we are also likely underusing the full capabilities that Active Campaign has.
In my experience, I find ActiveCampaign to be a useful and comprehensive tool.
10 years with ActiveCampaign: great start, but support and pricing went downhill
I've used ActiveCampaign since May 2016, and funnily enough they asked me to leave this review the day after I cancelled. A little too late, unfortunately.
In the early years it was excellent. The platform was fast, and a real person was on chat who actually solved problems. As the company grew, both went downhill. These days you get chatbots first, then support staff asking you to record videos of performance issues, which went round in circles. The issues have since been fixed, but it took far too long.
Pricing is my biggest frustration. I'm now paying about four times what I paid two years ago, and the increases came without any clear heads-up. I only found out when I saw my bill.
I'd thought about leaving many times but stayed because migrating looked like a $5,000 to $10,000 job. With AI tools, I moved everything myself in about five days for very little cost.
I also tried to share this feedback in their Facebook community. The post wasn't approved, and instead someone messaged me privately, which didn't feel very transparent.
If you're a long-time user, check what you're paying now and compare. If you're considering ActiveCampaign, look around first. There are far more options today, and many do funnels, email lists, automations and campaigns in one place for a fraction of the cost. Moving is no longer the big, expensive job it used to be.
I'm grateful for the early years, but I've moved on and I'm saving over $400 AUD a month, about $4,800 a year.

I have been using it for 8years. But it often has issues, something is often not working. Plus recently they have been changing the app and the interface constantly, with every change it gets worse and worse.
The two reasons I haven’t switched to an alternative is because it has a high deliverability (I tried to switch to Kajabi temporarily but the open rates dropped dramatically, so I came back). Another reason is that I’m just used to it and don’t like change.
Also it’s very expensive - for that level of price you’d expect impeccable performance, but it’s not.

Seamless experience for CRM! Integrates well with our internal software. If I had time, I would have explored all the other functions for ActiveCampaign, so much untapped potential
Poor system , causes and inconvenience with all its glitches , The one system you can't rely on.

It is a reliable email marketing platform with great added features.
As a healthcare practitioner, we rely on ActiveCampaign for customer intake, outreach, and automation. We find it extremely helpful as being a touchpoint for our contacts to stay connected. We are able to connect it to our patient portal to work in tangent with on another and are happy with its functionality.
I always felt like there was a lot I could do but didn't know how to do, and when I tried to set up what I thought would be simple things, it often required going to the help chat. The help chat was usually very helpful in solving the challenge.
Takes way too long to script a simple client email. Templates are created and then difficult to enable.
The entire experience should take no longer than 10-12 minutes. I frequently struggle for up to 40 minutes every time.
Any AI generated scripts never make it easier. And the automated scripts are lacking in some very basic decision points.
Technical Support has never been manifestly helpful.
The basics with email campaigns and automations work well for the most part. BUT the tech support when more advanced function is needed has not been good. We’ve had dozens of tickets and their AI is often wrong!
When my organization became a client there were specific parameters they said they could meet for renewal of membership. I have had IT tickets open for almost 6 MONTHS now and after months of half responses, suggestions it would be handled by engineers, and ‘thank you for your patience’, IT will not respond and neither will the sales person I worked with. It’s been the most frustrating experience. We have invested a lot of time and money into building the infrastructure for our organization and it feels like AC company is basically holding us hostage. I think there could be a solution worked out but they won’t even respond to the IT ticket! We are ready to pursue legal action and it’s really a shame. Do not recommend - go with another company!
Quick responses, clear communication, resolved an issue within the day!
Active Campaign will NOT talk to you on the phone. I had a complicated situation that they created. It could have been handled by five minute call. But no, days and numerous emails later it may have been resolved. It’s tedious and maddening. I will find another provider after my context expires.
The amount of my real friends and family I've now referred to Active Campaign, I've lost count.
In short - I love it!
From the sheer capability of the platform, the ease of use (honestly, barely a learning curve), and the support of the team as I came onboard (and continued since!), I'm so impressed.
They have a call with me every week to help me make the most of the platform, solve any challenges I might be having, check over my work if I'm worried.
Don't know why I waited so long to upgrade my CRM to Active Campaign.

Customer support has benn quick to respond and they made efforts to make sure all my questions are answered. I'm very happy with them.
