I booked a campervan through CU Camper for our trip to Iceland, with pickup from Hertz at Keflavík Airport. What was supposed to be a seamless trip turned into an absolute nightmare due to CU Camper’s complete failure to transmit our booking details to Hertz.
When we arrived, Hertz had no record of our arrival time, the vehicle was not ready, and none of our prepaid extras (camping table, bed linen) were provided. Most critically, our prepaid Unlimited Zero-Excess Insurance was completely missing from the rental contract. Hertz informed us on-site that we were driving with standard base coverage and fully liable for out-of-pocket damages.
To make matters worse:
Zero Real-Time Support: Leaving urgent messages for customer support in a foreign country went completely unanswered for over 24 hours while we were stranded at the airport and on the road.
Unreasonable "Solutions": When CU Camper finally responded, they simply refunded the canceled insurance fee and told us to buy local protection from Hertz. However, Hertz required a physical vehicle inspection before adding retroactive insurance—demanding we drive all the way back to Keflavík Airport while we were already 450 km away in Húsavík!
CU Camper’s failure to transmit our reservation left us driving across remote parts of Iceland without the zero-excess protection we paid for in advance.
Do not trust this company if you need reliable service or emergency support during an active trip. If anything goes wrong between CU Camper and the local rental supplier, you will be left to deal with the mess entirely on your own.

CU Camper offers a clean and easy-to-use app, and the booking process was straightforward. Some information is a bit hidden, but overall the platform works fine.
However, when things went wrong with our rental RV — and a lot went wrong — CU Camper was nowhere to be found. As a booking agent, they take their margin but offer no real support when you need them most. All issues were redirected to the rental company, leaving us to fight our own battles from thousands of miles away.
If everything goes smoothly, CU Camper does the job. But if you run into problems, don’t expect them to go to bat for you.
Book through them if you must — but go in with realistic expectations.

Overall, it was a nice and straightforward booking process. Adding additional equipment was a breeze, and I received a clear and concise payment overview

The prices of campers are considerably cheaper than in Australia. Questions asked via email are answered quickly and correctly. We have made a rebooking. That process also went very smoothly. Great company to do business with. We would choose CU campers again for our next trip if we want to rent a camper.

Smaller motorhome than booked ... faulty gps ... motorised bed not working.
The fewsdback from them was these issues weren't major issues. We can't gove you a refund.
When i pay for something i pretend what i paid for and everything in good working order.
