We rented a Toyota C-HR. The car was clean and ready for pickup. A quick document check, and we were soon enjoying the drive in a brand-new car. This wasn't our first time renting a car here, and the service is always top-notch. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

I booked Peugeot 308 station wagon,when arriving at Chopin airport went to Carfree office and after few minutes desk clerk giving me wrong car(Mitsubishi SUV)-match smaller than I expected to get.finally after few minutes I showed her my rental agreement than she was surprised and finally I get my car but not Peugeot I ge Hyundai i30 which is smaller.also make sure that if you don’t take their insurance you vacuum and wash car before you return.Bad experience

Everything 5 stars, apart from one minor inconvenience, the car came with little fuel, so upon returning it was tricky to match the initial level. Otherwise excellent service, and open 24/7.

Everything was OK: the pick-up, the return of the car, the car itself and the price. However, we made to superficial scratches in one wheel rim. The rim was otherwise perfectly fine. We were charged for the two scratches € 490. This is completely exagerated

I rented a Toyota Yaris cross hybrid from CarFree for a short trip around Poland. It's fine for short city trips, but for longer journeys, especially motorways, I wouldn't recommend it. When I floored it to speed up, the engine sounded horrible and so loud I was genuinely scared it would break. It felt like it was going to explode any minute.
Other than that, it was well equipped with Apple CarPlay, which made connecting my phone easy (though the connection dropped occasionally). Space-wise, there's decent room for a small family without much luggage. The double boot was a smart design and let us pack more bags than expected. The service was friendly and straightforward, the team explained everything clearly and I knew what to expect throughout. I'd recommend CarFree as a rental company, but I wouldn't recommend this particular car model unless you're already used to driving hybrids.

Rubbish, waited nearly two hours when we got off the plane for the car as only one person was working, then when we returned we was charged because the outside was dirty on the outside! Of course it would be though a bit from driving. Careful coz they catch you out!!!!

I would be very careful in using carfree.
They completely disregarded my business credit card, which i have used several times (once previously with them too funny enough) saying because it did not clearly say "credit card" they could not accept (it says commercial card, and it is a Lloyd's credit card). They charged over 200 euros extra for the "privilege" of using what they stated was not a verifiable credit card. Furthermore, I was told I could drop off the car before 8 am with no issues. And promptly charged my 20 euros for the privilege. The complaint department was completely unsympathetic and did not want to hear about it. Needless to say, I will not be doing any business with car free again and I certainly will not advise anyone travelling to Gdnask to use them.

We got the car that we rented. And it performed well.
The only problem we had with the car, as it turned out, was self inflicted on the day that we ended our stay and returned the keys used to get into our accommodations.
Then we went to the car to depart, but the car would not start. We tried to contact CarFree via WhatsUp via out eSIM provider that only included Web Data, but no Phone service. But could not do it; the number to CarFree was not found in WhatsUp. So we could not contact CarFree. I had to enable my Canadian Mobile service to be able to contact CarFree. So that cost me Roaming Fees for a day... something I was hoping to avoid.
As it turned out, the Car would not start because the key did not have a security FOB with the electronic Car Key. Without realizing it, we had returned our accommodation key with the security FOB of the car. We retrieved the FOB, and then the car worked normally. So we caused our own problem.
I would have given CarFree a 5 star rating were it not for the slow response to my car not starting problem. The CarFree help desk had told me 2 or 3 times that they would contact me in a few minutes, and it did not happen. I was very patient and waited as much as 40 to 75 min before calling CarFree again. So that was very frustrating.
So I have a lesson learned:
Be sure that the security FOB of the car stays with the Key FOB of the car... and all the self inflicted trouble we experienced could have been avoided, and would have saved us about 3.5 hours of sitting in the parking lot.

All was good, except being asked to pay an outstanding fee of 1 grosz, even though I had already paid everything via the provided link. The team in the office sorted this out.

Unfortunately I can’t leaf 0 stars for this company so one will do.
It started at the pick-up, I did rent this car on booking.com including insurance but the very unfriendly guy behind the counter told us that the insurance did no cover all and added €254,-for that (i already paid €72,-for that at booking)
Then he told me my creditcard was not good for the deposit because my first name was not completely speld out (but this is what they provide in NL)
I showed him my creditcard, bankcard, passport and diving license whit the samen name’s and still he was complaining about that.
We drove from Krakow to Brno to visit the race track and after checking my email I discovered that we where fined for €1.254,- for crossing the border.
They did not tell not to, did not ask me and did not show me any terms of agreement not to.
This feels like a scam
I payed €132 for the rent including full insurance + €254 for insurance again and €1.254.- to cross the Cz border.
That make a total of €1.650 for a 4 day rental.

NEVER RENT A CAR AT THIS COMPANY!!

The car was reserved on their website. After reading reviews we made sure not to be too early (in fact we waited there for 30 mins).

I was forced to pay way more because the credit card in use has my initial first name (not a complete first name). None of my credit cards has a complete first name.

I have used rental car companies all over the world and never encountered this rule. It has nothing to do with proving who I am, as I have passport and driving license.

Staff very helpful at pick up and drop off, the only thing we didn't know at the time, was as going to Czech Republic from Poland there was an additional £240 charge... would have been nice to know this from the onset of booking. Andy

I arrived at Chopin airport having rented a car from Enterprise. They refused to rent to me because I did not have an international permit, which I was not made aware I would need. They claimed it was the law. Right next door, however, was CarFree and they agreed to rent to me without such a permit. They were understanding, the care was excellent and clean. Returning it was easy, as was contacting them. Highly recomment.
