AVOID - 70,000 NEGATIVE REVIEWS TELL THE REAL STORY!! Click on one star reviews to see reviews accurately describing British Gas Energy Supply as disgusting, appalling, horrendous - bullying elderly and vulnerable people and overcharging EVERYONE! Positive reviews are for visiting engineers only, for energy supply AVOID!! I managed to switch to OVO after years of trying to get away from British Gas and I’ve had no issues whatsoever and my bills are over £200 cheaper a month for the same usage. As if to highlight how awful and ridiculous their customer service is, I see they are replying to negative reviews, complaints and genuinely distressed customers by telling them to leave a comment on Twitter!!! 🥴

BEWARE!! British Gas is the worst there is. Literally any other provider is better!! I endured years of overcharging, threats of forced meters and ignored emails and calls. Ultimately I had to pay thousands in overcharges to bring the balance to zero and switch to OVO, where my bills are over £200 cheaper a month and I have no issues at all. Even long after I’d switched, British Gas continued to charge thousands in error. They eventually retracted the charges via an Ombudsman complaint, but secretly added a default on my credit file months later. This has severely damaged my credit rating and they’ve refused all requests (including Experian’s) to resolve the matter. British Gas is an arrogant company that bullies customers and ignores regulations, which is well documented in recent news. Trust Pilot’s review glosses over the thousands of 1-star ratings and bad experiences.

A SCAM!!! Avoid. The positive reviews are fake. Note Trust Pilot’s warning. If you use their ‘free’ trial they’ll take large sums of money without authority and refuse a refund. They’ve also refused several requests to remove my details and are instead repeatedly insisting on a ‘lifetime account’.
