I know too well that Mercedes are both expensive to buy and service/fix, but MSL go the extra load with exorbitant charging on basic items. Apart from paying 500€+ for the service they also charged me.......wait for it.......€42 euro for pouring a few litres of Adblue into the car, along with 48 euro for the couple of litres used. €90 in total. I thought, as this being an engine fluid, it would be part of the expensive service. What a scam.
All I got was shrug of the shoulders, and a 'please pay the bill' expression from the sales guy when I pointed out that a full 15ltrs container of Adblue down the road in Lidl costs €20. More than enough for an engine full.
I also asked for a diagnostic to be done as an engine light is showing and its up for an NCT in a few days. The cost of the diagnostic was €210 which I presumed would result in the engine light being sorted. But no, not with MSL Mercedes. The €210 was just for plugging the bloody device into the car. Something any other person with a device would do for €20 or even free in some places. The light is still on and it costs €1100+ for replacement of glow plugs and nox sensor. I'll find out the real price of these items when I bring it to a sound reliable mechanic. Oh and the pre NCT costs €90. So now the NCT will have to be cancelled and rebooked, but as I vigorously told the staff in MSL Pottery road, I WON'T be coming back here to get it checked again.
Be prepared folks. They only want your money, and a hell of a lot of it too.
