The Store DJ staff always give you plenty of time to discuss your needs, and don’t try to get rid of you as soon as they have made a sale, unlike many other retailers. Store DJ has knowledgeable staff who on many occasions have helped me get started with a new instrument or device, or assisted with problems I might have with equipment. They are an invaluable asset to the music industry in Australia.

My experience as a Music Express customer

Service with my latest purchase was less than acceptable. Tyson seriously needs to learn people skills. When I asked him what CV/Gate was he just said to read the manual. Hardly helpful customer service! He didn't need to give me a long lecture, just a brief explanation of what it was.....unless he himself didn't know, which I doubt. I got the feeling that he wasn't in the least interested in my music tastes or desires as a customer.
I know enough about retail skills that, even if you're busy with other customers wanting service, you don't fob off a customer who has just made a purchase by telling them to go "read the manual"!
After my latest experience with staff at Music Express I left the shop feeling quite upset that they didn't care about me as a customer or about my musical desires (read potential future purchases). My impression left me with the thought that I no longer wished to do business with Music Express.

Fortunately, Porl, on the other hand, who recently served me at Music Express before this latest purchase, was more than helpful, taking time to listen to my queries and giving explanations and offering advice. After being served by him I left the shop feeling good about the experience and thinking I would like to shop with them in future.

So it's a bit of a toss-up whether I will shop with Music Express in future. It all comes down to which staff member I communicate with - one has been helpful and encouraging, the other unhelpful and cold. Because, when you're just starting out playing keyboard and synth, like I am, you need a little help and encouragement with learning a new synth. As I said above, you don't need long lectures, just some brief and to-the-point explanations, tips or advice.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, trustworthy company, fast, reliable service, AND free postage. A pleasure doing business with you!
