Unprofessional

They scheduled a user study that would pay $30 an hour. One week before the session, all of a sudden they changed their rates to $15 an hour. That's a 50% reduction. Unreliable, unprofessional company.

Very shady business

This must be one of the worst sites where you can get promotional amazon items. They really want you to leave a review on amazon but because legally they cannot say so, they have to provide a way for you to leave review using a word document. BUT, if you leave review like that a few times, they not only delay the approvals but eventually they block your account without even disclosing why. It is a very sneaky business. Go check alldeals.com if you want a reliable, professional, reputable site to get promotional Amazon items and don't waste your time with this shady company.

useless

Their AI moderated user studies on the Respondent platform are terrible. I spend 20-30 mins on a study, following instructions, giving great feedback, only to be presented by Bolt AI with a "failed to complete" message. Wastes my time and I don't even get paid for my efforts. Any company using Bolt AI will have customer service headaches for sure.

A lot of poor experience lately

I used to like this site but it is gotten really bad in the past 6 months or so. A lot of the studies here are now AI driven. The problem is, a bunch of these AI driven studies are not setup well. Many times I answer their questions, recording my videos, spending 15-30 mins on each, only to have never get paid. You reach out to the "researcher" and they never respond. You take your issue to Respondent Support and they are not helpful at all. It feels like Respondent is automating everything but it is all designed for the best case scenario and when something fails, there is no way to get it fixed and get paid for your efforts. I am getting tired of tracking who paid me who didn't.

Lowball offers...

They offered me $599 for a bike that is worth at least $1500. I understand that they have to make a profit too and I don't expect them to offer me the full amount of the bike's real value but the difference is huge and is laughable. So I rejected the offer and signed up for notifications if the price changes. A few days later I received an email giving me GOOD NEWS that the offer for my bike is now increased! I opened the email with anticipation only to see that the offer is now upped ot a whopping $600!!! a one dollar increase! Who could reject that, right?? I ignored it... A few weeks later, another email with same subject line and this time the offer was upped to $601! Wow, now we are talking :p This time I clicked on the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of their email only to be taken to a page that throws error. Tried the same unsubscribe link on multiple browser, they all throw a security error. This company not only lowballs you, but also has terrible technical systems that can't even handle an unsubscribe link.

Scammer company

There is no way I can trust this company. They collect your ECG data and they are supposed to pay for it within 24 hours. It's been five days now and despite my numerous emails to them, there is still no payment made and no responses to my emails. Seems like it is a scammer company.

Not worth it

This company doesn't respect its user testers at all. The tests don't pay much. The testers get reviewed but you never know which test owner rated you with what rating. No transparency. They can even delete your account without letting you know! Not worth your time if you are looking for some freelance work as a tester. There are so many much better sites out there.

Not worth your time

It is basically cheap labor that they are after. Tests take long time for very little money. They can ban your account without even alerting you. There is no transparency about the feedback you get for your tests. Avoid this company and don't waste your time with them.

Helpless support

They send a text message saying the instructions for the survey are sent to my email. There was no email with instructions. If you reply back to the text message saying this, you NEVER get a response. Clearly the phone they send from is not accepting replies but they fail to mention this. So I found their support email but they were equally useless. It takes them a long time to respond and they don't resolve any issue. Not worth your time. Stay away from them.

Review of Firstrade

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Free Isn’t Free: My Experience with Firstrade’s Limitations

I was initially drawn in by Firstrade’s free options trading and decided to open an account. Unfortunately, I’ve learned that you truly get what you pay for. Their website, trading platform, and customer service fall significantly short compared to competitors. Many limitations only become apparent when you attempt to execute trades, largely because their website provides minimal support documentation, FAQs, or detailed disclosures about restrictions.

1. **Only One Linked Bank Account**
Firstrade allows you to connect only one bank account at a time. If you want to transfer funds to a different bank, you must first delete the existing bank connection and then add the new one — a process that can take 2–3 business days. I’m not aware of any other major brokerage with this limitation.

2. **No Rolling of Spread Options**
Firstrade does not allow you to roll spread positions. You only discover this when you actually need to manage your trade.

3. **Undisclosed Contract Limits**
They limit the number of options contracts you can hold on a specific ticker. This restriction becomes apparent only when your order is rejected at the time of placement.

4. **$50,000 Daily ACH Withdrawal Limit**
ACH transfers out are capped at $50,000 per day. This restriction is more limiting than many competing brokerages.

5. **Questioning Your Own Transfers**
If you initiate ACH withdrawals on consecutive days, they may halt the transfer and email you asking why you are moving your own funds. That level of scrutiny over personal funds feels excessive.

6. **Account Transfer Restrictions with Near-Term Options**
Firstrade will not allow you to transfer your account to another brokerage if you have options expiring within two weeks. However, this rule is not clearly disclosed on their website. You only find out after your transfer request is rejected and you contact customer service. They do not proactively notify you or explain the issue.

7. **Bare-Bones Platform**
The website and trading platform are extremely basic compared to other brokerages. Advanced features common elsewhere are missing. Editing existing options orders can be cumbersome. For buy-and-hold investors, this may not be a major issue. But for active or high-frequency options traders, the platform can be frustrating to use.

In short, while the appeal of free options trading is strong, the limitations and lack of transparency make it difficult to recommend for active traders.

Holding my funds wrongfully

They are holding funds on my card saying wrongfully that I wasn't the intended person for the funds. This is simply wrong. To prove that the card belongs to me I had to send them a copy of my ID, utility bill and the original email with the card info. They are still denying me my money. I have never seen such badly run prepaid card company. I wouldn't use them if didn't have to. Unfortunately it wasn't my choice to receive the funds through this company's network.

Not worth your time

Testlio is not worth the time or effort. The platform feels built on cheap labor, offering very low pay compared to the amount of work and precision expected from testers. The interface is clunky and unintuitive, making it difficult to navigate or complete simple actions. Tasks are often confusing and poorly explained, leaving you to figure things out on your own. Overall, the experience is frustrating and unrewarding, there are much better alternatives out there, like uTest, that respect testers’ time and pay them more fairly.

Review of PNC Bank

Incapable bank

I have never seen such an incapable bank to setup a simple external transfer account. I opened my business checking account online through PNC and to simply transfer money into it from another account, I have to call them to enroll my account in external account transfer. Now, if it was just that, it would be fine! I called them and after waiting on hold for 30 mins, I was told that they don't have my "signature card" on file. What the hell is a signature card??? Anyway, the call center rep was super kind and she said they should be receiving that in a few days so I should call back in a few days. So I did... But I got the exact same response and again another 30-40 mins of hold on the phone! This time the person on the call said I will have to go to a branch and give them a signature card. I told her that there is no branch close to me and that I opened the account online all by myself. So she recommended I message PNC through the app, which I did. But all they said on the messaging is that I have to call Business Banking and send in my signature card to my business banker!!!! Do these people even understand that you can open an account on their bank WITHOUT a business banker? At this point I give up. I will close the account. I already wasted 2 hours with them.

Unreliable and unprofessional

Like so many other reviewers here, I also all of a sudden got "waitlisted" without any explanation and despite my good track record on the system. It seems like this is yet another company who is out there to just get your data as much as they can and then just cut you off as they see fit. Very unreliable, very unprofessional platform. I urge others here to leave reviews on their BBB page as well.

Yelp police at work!

Yelp is completely on the businesses side. They remove reviews that businesses don't like, they don't give you a chance to repeal it, they even send emails saying your account can be closed. Yelp is really going down the drain, silencing real reviews, and always staying on the money's side.

Review of Respondent

This platform is going downhill

This used to be a good site where you could sign up for user studies and you knew you would get paid. The last 6 months or so there’s a flood of studies that are run by AI which pay very little money. They either put two questions for qualifications in the respondent platform and once you pass them you get accepted only to get ANOTHER link with more questions to fill out in order to REALLY qualify. What’s bad about this is since respondent thinks you qualified, that project is marked as “invited” on their platform even though you’re not really invited to anything. So it becomes impossible to track who paid you and who didn’t as your projects area gets flooded with these pseudo invitations. Moreover, even if you qualify for these AI run studies after filling out additional questions, it’s very possible that they might terminate in the middle of recording your videos and all the time you spent on it are wasted! The studies run like this also never respond to your queries when you email them through the system. It’s all so badly automated that it’s becoming a big waste of time and effort, making me lose my trust completely in Respondent. Unfortunately these types of AI run studies are literally taking over the whole platform. Like I said this used to be a good site but it’s really going downhill in my opinion. In order to cut costs they’re losing quality participants. I guess soon robots will talk to robots!

No transparency for testers about their rating

I've been using UserCrowd as a tester for several years. I have sent them this feedback that I will write down here 6 months ago and all I got was a response appreciating the feedback and that they will look into it. Six months later, still no sign of any improvement on their site regarding my feedback. So I decided to make the feedback more public with a rating for them!

As a tester, we get rated for each test and there is a cumulative rating of testers out of 5 stars. But there is no transparency for the tester to see which tests they got rated low, and why. In fact, you don't even know if you have been rated low for a test unless you see a change in your overall score. If you are doing hundreds of tests, you simply cannot figure out which test rated you low and why! Other platforms don't have this issue. Cloud Connect, usertesting.com and many other platforms show you clearly which tests rated you low and why. That way you can improve yourself, or appeal it if you disagree. Besides, those platforms also calculate your rating such that if you get positive ratings more and more, your negative ratings are dropped. Whereas with usercrowd, it stays! Because of these reasons, I think UserCrowd is a mediocre platform compared to its competitors.

Moreover, they have faulty systems where they claim you used AI in survey, which is simply not true.
