Thanks for your feedback, even though it’s harsh, we understand where it’s coming from.

Yes, many users were disappointed by the end of Lifetime Deals, and we’ve tried to respond consistently (even if that’s perceived as “repeating excuses”). But the problems you mention, outdated Mac app, limited server coverage, lack of support, are exactly what we’ve been working to fix over the last two years. With limited resources and no outside funding, it hasn’t been fast, but we are making progress.

We accept the loss of trust and take responsibility for the tough decisions made. All we can do now is keep showing up, fixing what’s broken, and proving ourselves one step at a time.

Thank you for your honest review — we understand your disappointment and want to respond directly.

First, regarding the Lifetime subscription: VPN Secure was acquired in 2023 in what’s called an asset-only transaction. This means the original company — BoostNetwork Pty Ltd (Australia) — sold only the brand, servers, and technology, but not the legal contracts, user data, or obligations. So while we now operate the VPN, we did not inherit any past contracts, payments, or legal liabilities.

That’s not a “trick” or loophole — it’s a standard legal structure used in many acquisitions. But we understand that from a customer perspective, it feels wrong. That’s why, even without any revenue from past Lifetime Deals, we kept all LTD accounts running for two extra years at our own cost.

You’re also right to highlight our communication failure. The notice should have come before accounts were deactivated — not after. That was our mistake, and we’ve taken responsibility for it publicly.

Regarding server performance: we acknowledge that our infrastructure wasn’t perfect, especially before 2023. Since the transition, we’ve been improving the network, adding WireGuard support, and upgrading performance — but we know that won’t change the frustration felt by users affected by this decision.

Thank you for your feedback — we understand your frustration and want to provide some clarity.

When we acquired VPN Secure in 2023, it was through an asset-only purchase, meaning we did not receive any customer data, contracts, or information about existing lifetime accounts. The previous company did not disclose these subscriptions during the sale, and we only became aware of them months later through support inquiries.

Despite having no legal obligation and no revenue from these past sales, we voluntarily provided two additional years of service for all legacy lifetime users — entirely at our own cost. The discounted 3-year offer we’ve provided is meant as a goodwill gesture, not a money grab.

We referenced other companies in our email simply to show that these kinds of transitions are unfortunately not uncommon in the tech space. Still, we understand if the comparison didn’t land well — and we regret if the message came across as dismissive.

We’re doing our best to rebuild trust and operate transparently. Thanks again for sharing your perspective.

Just to clarify: VPN Secure changed ownership in May 2023, and unfortunately, the previous owner didn’t disclose the thousands of Lifetime Deals sold before the acquisition. We’ve inherited the platform, but not those liabilities — and this put an enormous strain on our infrastructure.

That said, we still want to make it right. While we’ve made the difficult decision to retire Lifetime Deal accounts, we’re offering former LTD users an exclusive deal starting at just $1.87/month to continue using the service, now with added support for Wireguard and our latest privacy upgrades.
