Cookiebot works reliably and the support team was friendly and responsive. However, I found the pricing model confusing. My website currently has only 121 pages, but I was placed in the €30/month plan... See more

I don’t understand the pricing.
If you use Cookiebot for one website, it costs €7 per month. But if you use it for two websites, it costs €15 per website per month.
Why does the price per website increase when you add a second website?

Misleading Web Advertising on pricing and a hidden complexity of how domains and costs are settled leads us to look for a new solution because of having unpredictable costs. They count pages differently and it could double or triple your subscription cost.

I've been a Cookiebot user for two years and the service itself is great - reliable and does exactly what I need.
Recently I accidentally triggered an upgrade to a much higher plan and got hit with an unexpected charge. Veronika in support handled it really well: she looked into my account properly, found what could be refunded, and personally carried it through to Finance, keeping me updated at every step. It took a bit of back-and-forth, but the issue was fully and fairly resolved. Genuinely grateful for the product and the care behind it..

Getting started with Cookiebot was easy. The implementation was straightforward, and adjusting the CSS and text to fit my site took very little effort.
I then used Cookiebot happily for years and was very satisfied with it throughout. The only real drawback is the pricing model: because it scales with the number of web pages, it eventually became too expensive for me given my high page count. That's the one point that keeps this at four stars rather than five.
That cost is ultimately why I had to switch providers - but the way it ended left a great final impression. The cancellation and refund were handled quickly and with a genuinely accommodating attitude. Many providers would probably have offered only a partial refund based on their terms and conditions. Cookiebot went further than that, and I really appreciated it.
All in all, a strong product backed by fair, customer-friendly support. Recommended.

Cookiebot overcharged us for months by placing two small websites on its Extra Large plan, then defended the charges with an explanation that does not hold up. The specifics:
1) Cookiebot prices by the number of subpages, but its scanner cannot tell a real page from a filtered view of the same page. A filter plugin on our WordPress site briefly generated several thousand query-string URLs (e.g. /resources/?filter=…), and Cookiebot's scan on 8 March 2026 counted every one as a separate subpage – more than 10,000 "pages" on each of two domains that in reality have far fewer than 1,000. On that basis both domains were moved to the Extra Large plan, and the monthly charge for the two rose from £50 (2 × £25) to £156 (2 × £78). Under Cookiebot's terms a charge based on that scan may be technically permissible, and I accept that – though I do not consider it fair or client-oriented.
2) The plugin fault existed only briefly in March and was fixed shortly afterwards; it did not last for months. Yet Cookiebot continued to overcharge us at the Extra Large tier through April, May and June, without appearing to run a single fresh scan. I spotted the overcharge only in June. When I raised it, Cookiebot accepted the page count was wrong but offered to refund the latest invoice alone, as a "gesture of goodwill." It was not goodwill – it was a plain overcharge, and dressing it up as a courtesy is misplaced.
3) I asked for the scans behind the April, May and June invoices, so I could verify the actual page count for each month – accepting that, even under their terms, there was a slim (and, I believed, highly unlikely) chance the later charges were formally correct. The support specialist replied that it was "the exact same" scan for every period and declined to send them as "redundant." That cannot be true. If the fault was fixed after March, the page count in the following months was not identical to March. Either Cookiebot did not re-scan in those months – in which case the charges rested on no current scan at all – or the statement is inaccurate. On Cookiebot's own principle – that pricing reflects the scan at the time of billing – one March scan cannot justify three later months. Presenting it as sufficient was, in my view, misleading.
In short: two small sites overcharged at the Extra Large tier for months, on the strength of a single outdated scan of a fault that lasted only weeks, with a refund of only the last invoice offered as "goodwill." If you use Cookiebot, check every invoice, especially if a plugin on your site generates query-string URLs: the scanner counts them and moves you up a tier automatically, yet in our case the charge never came back down when the real page count fell. The adjustment ran one way only – in Cookiebot's favour.
Above all, though, Cookiebot has refused to give me the actual page scans for April, May and June. Those scans are the only evidence that could show whether the charges for those months were ever justified under Cookiebot's own terms – and it will not produce them. It insists the charges are correct while declining to prove it. A company confident in its billing would simply show the scans. That refusal, more than anything else, is why I am leaving this review.

Highly deceptive pricing tier language. Buries the requirement of at least 4 websites per month per domain to qualify for the adverised price in front of you. Avoid on principle.

I see the same criticism I had about Cookiebot coming up in these reviews: I assumed I’d be paying €10–€20 per month, but it ended up being €90. This was indeed due to the large number of pages in my online store.
What I don’t understand is that there are other CMP providers that don’t differentiate between websites with few or many subpages. I’ve since switched to another provider, where I pay €7.95 per month. No surprises—just an affordable, low monthly fee.

Warning! At first glance, the price looks appealing—between 7 and 30 USD per month. However, the actual cost can skyrocket without any prior notice. I was charged 90 Euros per month, simply because my website has many pages.
This feels like a deceptive practice. You cannot charge for additional pages without explicit agreement. If I signed up for the Lite package (which includes 50 web pages), the fair approach would be to scan only those 50 pages and then notify me that the remaining pages could not be scanned—not to silently upgrade my plan and bill me accordingly.
Moreover, you cannot change the payment method or upgrade the card details on your own, without my consent. This lack of transparency and unauthorized billing is unacceptable.
Proceed with caution—what seems like a budget-friendly subscription can quickly turn into an unexpected expense.
