To provide a bit more context, we’d like to explain an important point: unfortunately, due to missing details, we were unable to process your booking enquiry. We are assuming at this stage that you are resident in Switzerland. For customers in Switzerland, some insurance cover is unfortunately not available due to legal requirements. Because of these specific legal requirements, we are not always able to offer our standard insurance products for bookings made by residents of Switzerland. We fully understand that this can be very frustrating at such a late stage in the booking process.
Rest assured that we are already working hard to further improve transparency in our booking process, so that such restrictions are made clear to you much earlier and more clearly. The time you need to book depends on how deep you want to dive into the contractual fine print, which still contains some important information that are not provided in the summary. During the time I analyzed the fine print the price was changed twice up and down by 150 Euro (20%). That was driving me nuts.

Have been using this comparison site for years, and it consistently finds cheaper deals than other metasearch engines for car rental. You can't expect them to be responsible for operational issues stemming from the actual car rental providers on site - so always check who the local operator is and make sure you're comfortable with them.

Very agressive sales clerk
I strongly advise against renting a car from Autovia at Catania Airport.
When returning our rental car, an employee showed me a tablet displaying only signature fields, without any visible text, and asked me to sign to confirm the return. Immediately afterward, I was asked to sign again. Since I wanted to understand what I was signing and why multiple signatures were required, I politely asked for an explanation.
Instead of providing a clear answer, the employee became impatient and started to lash out at me. He said he did not know why the system required so many signatures and compared it to signing multiple times on a paper contract. He then mockingly imitated the way I was signing on the tablet. This behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate.
I pointed out that customers have every right to understand the documents they are being asked to sign. Rather than de-escalating the situation, the employee became even more confrontational. What was particularly concerning was that his colleagues witnessed the interaction without intervening, creating the impression that such behavior is tolerated within the company.
The problems had already started when we picked up the vehicle. The car was dirty, and the fuel tank was not full as stated.
The combination of poor vehicle handover and the disrespectful treatment we experienced during the return process made this an unacceptable experience. One star is actually too generous for this company.
