Honestly what a waste of resources

Honestly what a waste of resources. I am living in Germany since last 2 years and I travel every second weekend. 80% of the time train is late or cancelled. It is so frustrating how they can't manage to keep any trains on time.

I always had issues with DB

I always had issues with DB; however today reached a low I couldn't even imagine being able to be reached.
My train ride started punctually which on its own was a surprise (RE5) and by Düsseldorf we already faced almost 30min delay which made me aware that I'll likely miss my bus connection and start looking for alternatives which proved to be futile and I was supposed to wait 55min on my next bus in Wesel (which I harshly accepted as a truth by horrible weather) however, just three stops prior they completely decided to cut Wesel as a stop and I am left stranded with a panic attack in a city which is unfamiliar to me and without a connection to go home and no compensation whatsoever

Worst infrastructure ever

Germany is a literal shithole. How can a country in Europe be this underdeveloped when it comes to the infrastructure. I have a girlfriend living in Germany and EVERY f*ng time I’m going there the trains are delayed HOURS or get cancelled. And you never get enough compensation for it, I’m so tired of this. If you can avoid using the trains in Germany, do it.

DB lies to its customers

DB lies to its customers. They give all the time false information, the inform abut the delay, and then the train departures on time. They repeat how important is the information, but they do the opposite... This has serious problems.

Absolute rubbish and unreliable never on time! Never

Absolute rubbish and unreliable! Always late! No possibility to get on another train! 1h trip takes 3. 8h journey takes 20. Another train another delay. Demanded a refund! Maybe if we all start doing it they will start operating on time! Absolute disgrace! No respect to peoples money and time!

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would - 1 star is already too much for the travesty that is the Deutsche Bahn.

I can't remeber the last time i had less than at least half an hour delay, if that has indeed ever even happened. That being said, 30 minutes can still be considered fairly on time with DB; a delay of 2-3 hours, on e.g. a journey scheduled to take 2 hours is more than common.

Last year, what should have been a 2,5 hour journey took 8 hours; before that a 1 hour yourney took 4,5 hours; a couple months ago, on my way to the airport, no less than 4 ICE connections, together with a bunch of regional trains were canceled, forcing me to take a Flixbus instead, to just barely make my flight (mind you this was after planning in about 4 hours of buffer time to account for the inevitable DB delay); one time the seat I had reserved for an ICE journey didn't even exist, so I was forced to stand in the isle for the whole journey; etc...

On top of all that, they still have the audacity to charge you unreasonably expensive ticket prices - which still don't even guarantee you a seat; offer no reimbursement for delays of under an hour, and even after over an hour delay you only get a ridiculous 25% of the cost reimbursed; they offer no on board compensation, like free food or drinks, even after hours of delay; for the non existent seat i reserved, I could only get it reimbursed by going to a DB Reisezentrum in person to stand in line, only to only get it reimbursed as a voucher for DB - the list could go on.

The global assumption of German punctuality and efficiency is proven dead wrong every minute of every day by the Deutsche Bahn.

I wouldn't wish a journey with the Deutsche Bahn on my worst enemy.

HELLMOUTH ON TRACKS

What a absolute scam & waste of time and money. If you like a sauna from HELL on wheels that's delayed by HOURS at a time, this Hellmouth is the mode of transport for you!! Enjoy the rude, deadpan staff that only Central Europe can provide + zero outlets + overhead luggage shelving that may break mid-journey + ONE Air-Conditioned cart, but wait, its 1st class & they STILL wont let you sit there when there are unclaimed seats even if YOUR second class seat is taken by USSR Peter Griffin and Slavic Precious.

Zero trust! Horrible experiences all together. Consistently.

Zero trust!

I wish the poor and honest people that try to make a change for a better and more sustainable transportation in Germany and beyond all the strength and support. These people pay already a ridiculous price for spending days in transport and arrive late and frustrated almost all the time. This company should be sued left and right. Ask people traveling with DB not if they arrived on time but rather how much of the original Ticket they got back. Last time for a trip of 500 km trough Germany we needed 17 hours. In this time we would have been in almost any other paper of this Planet... DB had different plans. Thais time I had a trip with only one change. In both trips we had 1 hour delay each. I mean how is it possible that it is even allowed to pay for this? So much time waste it needs to reimbursed. Horrible. Worst company I know.

Traveling with Deutsche Bahn feels like…

Traveling with Deutsche Bahn feels like taking a trip back to the 1950s outdated systems, endless delays, poor communication, and constant frustration. It’s amazing how a modern country can have such an unreliable railway service. Unfortunately, bad experiences seem to be the rule rather than the exception.

No response.

DB mails me I can't get to my destination on time - cancel or just take another train.
I send them a message asking for advice but they don't bother to reply, not even a auto-generated message.

I thought French trains were bad

I thought French trains were bad. 32 years dealing with the SNCF, and I genuinely thought I’d seen the worst. Then I spent 4 days on Deutsche Bahn and realized I had no idea what “bad” actually looked like.

Missed connections, one after another, with zero warning and zero backup plan. Staff either can’t be found or just shrug when you ask what’s going on — they’re too busy putting out their own fires to care that you’re stranded. The app tells you one thing, the platform screens tell you another, and neither is true. Nobody apologizes, nobody offers a rebooking, nobody offers a refund. You’re on your own, every single time
