I recently bought a car from Vaartland
I recently bought a car from Vaartland. The sales person was very nice and promised they would do a thorough car inspection before I pick it up and fix anything problematic. I explicitly asked for the rear windshield wiper to be changed and to see a report of the break pads. The sales person assured me I would get both. They also convinced me to buy the 1 year warranty which I now regret as it does not cover many issues and as stated by other they can easily invoke that the problems are due to the driver and therefore they do not need to fix it.
When I picked up the car I got NO detailed technical report as promised, the wiper is still the old one, the car was NOT properly cleaned inside and they did not do a fresh APK as the latest was done a month before so they did not bother. They said the filters and oil were replaced but gave dubious proof of this (and A4 page with a list of things on it and no receipts) and did not record it in the car book. I am quite disappointed.

I also thought the extended warranty offer
They make a bit pushy. Sounds like tied sale and in the end I regretted accepting but they pushed hard for me to keep it. It’s not a good deal since the terms of the warranty are very limited and the price paid is expensive.
The only bad experience has been getting a reply from the salesman after the purchase to clarify some issues with the car.

I must say that I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews, especially involving the same sales person (Jelte). But lo and behold, he was so kind and patient with me during my journey of searching for a vehicle. Unfortunately my first choice was sold a day before I decided on it but he was quick to push me in the right direction and within a week I had found my replacement and now eagerly waiting for my car to be ready within a week after the full service has been done.
Thank you Jelte. I know my Dutch was not so perfect but you were empathetic, you listened, you asked and you delivered.
