Hassle-free car handover. Friendly advisor. Whole process was smooth.

Buying a car is never easy and obviously comes with a large financial consideration. My experience with Autohero was excellent from start to finish, especially as an expat in the Netherlands who does not speak much Dutch. Special thanks must go to Thijs who was very helpful and I could also reach him if I had questions. Also thank you to Marco who made the delivery very easy and explained everything in detail. So far the car is excellent and I trust this will continue to be the case. I can highly recommend going through Autohero if you are considering buying a car in NL. Thank you.

Very disappointing experience with Autohero.

They sold me a car with a defective battery, and the replacement cost was around €11,000.

I decided to return the car and agreed that Autohero would repay the outstanding finance to the leasing bank. However, it has now been 20 days, and they still haven't paid the leasing amount.

The whole process has been slow, stressful, and handled with very poor communication.

If there were an option to give 0 stars, I would gladly do so. I expected much better from a company like Autohero. I cannot recommend them. ⭐☆☆☆☆

It was a great experience buying my car through AutoHero. We didn't need to drive far to see the car and it was exactly how it was described! I recommend their service!

They sell cars but you knever know what is the history behind them. I bought a Mercedes A Class just to find out from my mechanic that the car went through a car accident in the front and was repaired with second hand parts...

Great experience! For me it was the perfect way to buy a car. As foreigner in the Netherlands, I had a lot of fears around buying my first car - what do I need to do, how to transfer the title, how to get financed, and what happens if something goes wrong.

They took care of everything! Explaining every step of the way, helping to get the finance, transferring the title. It took a week to go through the process. Incredible.

I bought a car from Autohero for €17,000. This was one of the worst purchasing decisions I've ever made. I strongly advise against buying from them.

Let me start with the positives – none. The car arrived with seat and steering wheel covers, which seemed funny at first, but the joke ended when I looked inside. The interior was filthy. Not even vacuumed. Dog hair everywhere – including inside the old hybrid battery filter, which was completely clogged with dog hair. The cabin ceiling had dirt that I only noticed the next day.

Multiple damages were not disclosed. The steering wheel had visible wear and scratches, and there were other interior scratches that were not in the damage report or photos on the website.

Then the safety issues. The windshield wipers were ancient – one of them had no rubber left at all. On the highway, the first time it rained, using the wipers made visibility worse than not using them. That was genuinely dangerous. The car supposedly passed a new APK inspection before delivery – I honestly don't understand how, because with wipers like these, it would fail immediately. Also, several plastic clips are missing.

But the worst part? Autohero's customer support is useless. I had two phone calls with different people, and both ignored my complaint that the car is not even showing up in my profile. My trade-in car is there, so it's the correct account – but the car I bought is missing. That means I cannot file a claim through their portal. The delivery person himself told me to make a claim via the portal. But when the car isn't there, you simply can't. I also sent an email – completely ignored.

So I'm stuck with a €17,000 dirty, damaged, unsafe car that I can't even file a complaint about.

Do yourself a favor – buy elsewhere.

A very easy process. Knowledgeable help over the phone and in person upon pick up. The car is also in amazing shape, just as described and pictured. Zero problems with the sale or the vehicle.

I would have given them many stars if i didn’t need them to have after sales service or to honour commitments after the sale, unfortunately they have left a bad enough taste that this one star review is needed.

I bought a car in Sept ‘25, and as of writing this review in May ‘26 it is still unresolved. The car was advertised with a feature (front pdc) and from everything i could see on the photos it should have been there. However it appeared to not be there when i received the car. I followed the process promptly to report this to Autohero. I needed them to tell me that this is something they can solve or not otherwise i would return the car. They told me that they would fix it and i just need to wait. I have followed up over the months following but people don’t return or follow up on my claim. It’s been impossible to speak to someone knowledgeable or that makes decisions. It turned out that the feature can’t be installed by the manufacturer and only a 3rd party option is available but doesn’t work well with the car. I have asked to return the car but they now say since i’ve had it past the 21 days that they assume i wanted to keep it. Ridiculous. I have had to bring in a lawyer on this and hope to get this resolved. Autohero seems to be happy to do a bait & switch on their clients and then blame clients for their issues.

The appointment setting was slow. Once the car was ready they did not have the correct details about my trade in car. I had to reschedule 3 times. On each occasion turning up in person to the appointment they were not ready. Because of their mistakes my trade in car price offer then expired and they did not honor the agreed price. After 3.5 weeks after ordering the car and 3 visits to the office, I gave up, cancelled the order and closed my account. Their team was incapable of taking responsibility and their manager also did not take any responsibility to resolve a whole host of issues they created. Every issue was avoidable. I cannot recommend strongly enough to find yourself a different dealership.

Very long delivery time despite "guarantee" that vehicle should be delivered within 5-10days.

Very positive experience and support from the Autohero team. I will definitely recommend this car service
