Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 5,448 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers frequently complained about missing items, completely incorrect food orders, and consistently cold meals that arrived far too late after exceptionally long waiting periods. Consumers also reported dreadful customer support interactions, unhelpful representatives who refused to take any responsibility, and unfairly denied financial refunds. Some reviewers were happy with the delivery when things occasionally went smoothly and the drivers managed to arrive promptly without issues. People frequently noted that using the platform became very expensive due to excessive service fees, high delivery charges, and unexpected extra costs added to orders.

Is Ubereats a scam? Or a genuine business who values their customers?

Disgraceful customer service and their delivery company is incompetent beyond belief... ever other order I make via Ubereats has some sort of issue... almost every McDonalds order missing dips and the occasional item... missing nan bread from a kebab! Missing very basic customer service and trying to get a refund for missing items or wrong items is diabolical... best doing chargebacks via your bank or credit card... no idea if you are speaking with a human or AI via their support line... these incompetent fools need to be fined and woken up as they cannot be allowed to continue taking payment for such shoddy service... watchdog needs tp get on this to expose these scammers!!

Food ordered not received

My daughter, who is a student ordered food on Ubereats and her food was never delivered. When she enquired, she was told that the food was delivered. It is not the first time that it has happened. The drivers take the food and the money is never refunded. Ubereats should take responsibility for their irresponsible drivers.

Joke of a website

Joke of a website. Was given a £50 Uber money voucher, placed an Uber Eats supermarket order, and because it had 4 cans of Stella, Uber would allow me to use it. Total joke, either Uber money on everything or not at all. Disgrace!!

LOCAL WARNING

LOCAL WARNING – ASDA EXPRESS / UBER EATS DELIVERY DRIVER ⚠️

Just wanted to give everyone in the area a heads-up about a driver named Babatunde Lewis working for Uber Eats / Asda Express.

He was supposed to deliver my £100 shopping order today, but instead of handing it over, he drove off with all of my goods. The stolen order has been reported to Uber Eats and the police, but please keep an eye out and be careful if he gets assigned to your delivery. — in Gravesend.

No Accountability

This company allows people to steal and then act like nothing happened. It's business as usual.

Its like a gamble if you'll even get what you ordered at all.

They aren't even worth the time it takes to leave a review.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. I selected the address I wanted a delivery sent to, but somehow it changed during the ordering process. I contacted customer service immediately to cancel the order but the chat is run by AI, which was not helpful at all. I called to speak with a person, who was also just as unhelpful with the situation. I was charged for the entire order regardless of how quickly you contact customer service. Will never use Uber Eats again.

Told to follow up at 2:30 PM, then Uber appears to have erased my chat history and locked me out of support.

I am writing this because Uber Eats appears to have completely disabled my ability to contact customer support on my account, despite telling me to get back in touch by 2:30 p.m. if the order was still not here.

My order was late because no courier was ever assigned. I contacted chat support, and the agent explicitly insisted that I contact them back at 2:30 PM if my food still hadn't arrived. I asked if we could simply resolve the situation then as 2:30 was a half hour away and I could make other arrangements or order from another place.

This seemed reasonable to me but the first guy simply ended the chat. The second guy I asked didn't really acknowledge the request, he simply reiterated to wait the additional half hour then get back in touch.

I waited and followed their exact instructions. When I went back to contact them at 2:30 PM, the live chat function was completely gone. To make matters worse, Uber has erased my entire chat history from today, archiving my last conversation from over a week ago (when they also didn't show up with an order and I had to cancel).

They are currently withholding my funds for a delivery that never arrived and have systematically blocked my access to live help. This is a massive breach of consumer trust and completely unacceptable business practice. I want my account reviewed and a full refund immediately.

Now it is an hour past when the delivery was originally supposed to arrive, and still nothing. No courier, no delivery, no ability to contact customer support.

UPDATE: After finally reaching an agent, they didn't manually dispatch a driver. Instead, they "transferred" me to a different department, and the screen now says they will reply in 6 to 12 hours for a live order that is already almost two hours late. This company is a complete joke.

Refund impossible

I ordered Domino’s through Uber Eats with an estimated delivery time of 35 minutes. Almost everything that could go wrong did.

After about 35 minutes, with no pizza arriving, I called Domino’s directly. They told me they could see the order, but for some reason it had not properly gone through. This was despite the Uber Eats app continuously showing progress — first “preparing”, then later “on the way”.

Because Domino’s uses its own drivers, there was also no proper tracking available through Uber Eats.

Domino’s then told me they would make and deliver the order within about 25 minutes. In reality, I waited around 90 minutes in total and eventually received a cold pizza.

I then tried to get a refund through Uber Eats. Their support simply told me that I needed to contact Domino’s for the refund. That makes absolutely no sense. I placed the order and paid through Uber Eats, so Uber Eats is the company I should be able to raise the complaint with.

What made it worse was the customer service itself. After giving me a very short answer, they basically ended the conversation. I was then asked whether my issue had been resolved. I clicked “no”, only to be asked to explain the whole issue again.

It feels as though Uber Eats has made the refund and complaint process unnecessarily difficult. There is no clear route to actually resolve a failed order, and customer support seems more interested in closing the conversation than fixing the problem.

I have used Uber Eats maybe five or six times in different countries, and almost every experience has been disappointing in one way or another. This was easily the worst.

The biggest problem is not even that an order can go wrong — mistakes happen. The problem is that when something does go wrong, Uber Eats makes it extremely difficult to complain, get proper support, or obtain a refund.

After around 90 minutes I finally received a cold pizza. To top the whole experience off, when I took it into my room the pizza slid out of the side of the box and landed on the f.. floor. I ate it anyway. At that point the evening had already reached that level.

For the record, Domino’s “large” pizza was also only around 35 cm.

Absolute disaster from start to finish.

I will not use Uber Eats again.

Uber help is a joke

I made a mistake with delivery address and tried to change couldn’t and was forced to cancel order. The food hadn’t been prepared yet and I was charged 95% of the full order as a fee. When I made a complaint about the high cancellation fee I was told I would only be charged half what I originally thought. I have proof of the conversation with uber but the next day they told me I would be charged the original full cancellation fee. This is ridiculous I have proof of them telling me one thing and then the next day another. Extremely unprofessional from a big operation they should be able to keep customers happy and not lie about the charges.

A joke

They allow one driver to take on multiple orders which are prepared at different times. My order was ready for 20 minutes before the driver ever left the restaurant. The result was stone cold, inedible food. They didn’t even try to make it right. Black listed.

We’ve had multiple issues with Uber…

We’ve had multiple issues with Uber Eats, especially with paid Priority Delivery. It’s presented as a way to have your order delivered directly to you, yet multiple drivers have told us we were not their first delivery when we asked why our food was taking so long. What exactly are we paying extra for?

Then came our latest pizza order. The driver arrived at our house and sat outside for about five minutes. We finally messaged to ask whether everything was okay. He told us Uber had routed him directly to our house without him picking up our pizza, and he was talking to technical support.

After roughly another ten minutes of communication, he said support would contact us and that he would cancel the order. Instead, the order was marked delivered. We received absolutely nothing.

We contacted support, who initially refused a refund because the order showed as delivered. We had to specifically ask them to read our messages with the driver. After reviewing those messages, they refunded the food and issued a credit for the tip, but left the service charge unrefunded. Apparently, we’re still expected to pay a service fee for an order that never arrived.

We followed up asking for the remaining refund and a credit for the experience. After leaving us waiting approximately four or five days, support responded that we weren’t eligible because we hadn’t contacted them within 48 hours.

We had already contacted them, they had already reviewed the evidence, and they had already issued a partial refund. Their own support history documents this.

Now we’re stuck repeating the same explanation instead of getting the remaining charge refunded. Mistakes happen. But failing to deliver the food, marking it delivered, keeping part of our money, and then denying our follow-up based on a deadline we didn’t miss is completely unacceptable.

Ants got inside my food - Uber Eats refused to refund it

My Uber Eats driver left two pizzas directly on the ground outside my residence without notifying me that the order had been delivered.
I found the order approximately five minutes later. The boxes were covered in ants, and ants had already gotten inside the boxes and onto the food. I immediately recorded a video documenting the condition of the order. Both pizzas had to be thrown away, including my child’s dinner.
I contacted Uber Eats immediately. Instead of replacing the food or issuing a refund so I could reorder dinner, Support repeatedly told me to wait 6-12 hours.
Uber ultimately refused my refund, stating: “It was determined that no significant damage or restaurant error impacted the quality of the food. Therefore this order can’t be refunded.”
I never blamed the restaurant. The restaurant was not at fault. This was entirely a delivery issue: Uber’s driver left the pizza boxes on the ground without notification, ants got inside the boxes and onto the food, and the order became inedible.
I have video evidence showing exactly what I found.
Apparently, according to Uber Eats, ants inside a food order do not constitute “significant damage” to its quality.
Completely unacceptable delivery and an even more unacceptable response from Uber Eats Support.

Delivery person took order but canceled…

Delivery person took order but canceled after 40 min. Then the next delivery person took the delivery. But the food arrived way to late and cold because of this. Talking in the help chat they could only see the 2nd delivery and so they said it arrived on time. They had to admit to couldn't see the data of tbe first delivery person and then just stopped the chat. Horrible service

I ordered a crispy chicken salad and got grilled. I asked for extra dressing and didn’t get it. Uber’s solution was to give me a $2 credit on a $20 salad and I even uploaded a picture. I will never order Uber Eats again. I could NOT talk to a live person or chat anyone. I’m SOL.

I never received my free cheese bread and when I looked at the invoice it wasn’t even on it but it was on the order before I clicked checkout. Uber screwed me over and I can’t talk to a live person all AI. FU UBER EATS

It’s totally rubbish

It’s totally rubbish. When the shop doesn’t turn up and phone is unresponsive, there’s nothing you can do to check what went wrong or to get a refund.

Customer Service is non existent on Uber Eats. It’s not even close to its competitors

Stay away from it.
