I have had issues because I am releasing stuff for the first time, and they have been very helpful when I ask them to help me sort all of the linking etc. that comes at the start, definitely recommend Symphonic!
**⭐ 1/5 — EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE, INTIMIDATING COMMUNICATION, ROYALTY PAYMENT PROBLEMS AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY**
My experience with Symphonic Distribution has been extremely disappointing, frustrating, and financially stressful.
As an independent composer, music producer, and rights holder, I hired Symphonic to distribute my music professionally, not to create obstacles to my career or leave me without clear information about my own earnings.
In my experience, their customer service has been arrogant, dismissive, unnecessarily authoritarian, and extremely difficult to deal with.
I have repeatedly felt disrespected and intimidated by the tone and manner of their communications. Rather than feeling supported as a paying client, I have felt powerless when trying to obtain answers about my own music and royalties.
Since August 2026, I have repeatedly requested financial transparency, royalty reports, CSV statements, sales and download records, and clear explanations regarding my earnings.
**My disputed August royalty period displayed $0.00 without an accessible detailed CSV report. I have also experienced serious payment-related problems and have not received satisfactory explanations.**
I am particularly concerned about whether royalties are being withheld, who authorizes such restrictions, and what happens to the money while artists are unable to access complete accounting information.
**Is Symphonic withholding royalties that rightfully belong to artists? If funds are being blocked, where is that money being held, and what contractual authority justifies withholding it?**
These are questions I believe every independent artist deserves to have answered.
My music has achieved substantial organic success, yet Symphonic's Trust & Safety department has questioned my streaming growth and promotional activities.
I have no objection to legitimate investigations. However, I strongly object to being left without adequate explanations about my earnings while being asked to account for the behavior of listeners and algorithms I do not control.
**Is commercial success a violation of Symphonic's distribution agreement?**
That is one of the questions I have formally asked.
I am also deeply concerned about the extent of control Symphonic exercises over my recordings and the lack of clear explanations surrounding any restrictions.
**Operating a distribution platform does not automatically make a company the owner of an artist's music.**
In my opinion, Symphonic's handling of these matters reflects serious problems with transparency, communication, accountability, and respect for independent artists.
Their service has made me feel that instead of supporting my career, they have become an obstacle to it.
I have submitted formal complaints to the Better Business Bureau, the Florida Attorney General, and the Federal Trade Commission regarding these unresolved concerns. These complaints are requests for review, not findings of wrongdoing.
**My personal assessment of Symphonic's customer service is 1 out of 5 stars.**
I cannot recommend this distributor based on my experience.
Independent artists deserve reliable royalty payments, transparent accounting, professional treatment, honest communication, and respect for their intellectual property.
**I hired a distributor to help my music move forward, not to become an anchor holding my career back.**
My experience with Symphonic so far has been excellent. The team is incredibly attentive to my labels and always responsive, and they resolve every issue quickly and without unnecessary complexity. What sets them apart is how human and approachable the support feels. It’s clear they care about the artists they work with.
In my opinion, Symphonic is the best distributor out there, and I wouldn’t switch to anyone else. Highly recommended for any independent artist or label looking for a professional and reliable partner.
We submitted the wrong cut of our artist's video for its Vevo premiere — a 52-second version stood where the full film belonged, and from our side it looked fine. Vanessa at Symphonic caught it, told us plainly and fast, and gave us the exact route to make it right: delete, re-deliver, re-issue. We delivered the correct master the same day, and the new watch page was launched that evening, in time for the premiere.
The collaborator linking and a channel-name correction were handled the same way — clear, quick, and exact, with times stated and kept.
That is how a premiere gets saved. We are a small independent house in New Orleans, and we were treated like the record mattered.

I have released 30 songs with Symphonic and enjoy the convenience of song "Master"($5.00) and express release ($15.00). I have many songs submitted and released within 24 hours! Great experience and look forward to more songs!
I've had a great experience so far. I was also amazed with the quality of customer service.
Support and help is human. My songs vanished from some DSPs without any advice but I took support and they did answer me and re-delivered everything shortly after the support ticket and all my songs were back the next day so super great support!
Symphonic is so much more than a distributor. It’s the connection, personalized support, and the tools and knowledge that empower me to grow my career and build a sustainable future in music.
Always giving us quick and good assistance

I feel confident I am currently with the best independent distribution available. Their attention is quick as well and their offerings and upgrades are also very professional. I tried a couple others before landing with Symphonic, and I am the happiest with them.

Margret heard my concerns and made the necessary correction in profile. Like the timely service. They do not make you wait or have a bot answering. You actually speak with a live human.

Symphonic client relations department is a step above the industry standard! If you treat your release seriously, their team gets real results, real placements for singles and real opportunities for artists. Highly recommended.

My label has been a client of Symphonic for some years now and can only give my best recommendations!
I always get great service and they charge fairly on their business addons. With the stories I hear in the business about other distributors I so far feel very lucky and fortunate with my past decision to choose Symphonic.

I have had overwhelmingly good experiences with Symphonic -- I've found their customer support team extremely good to deal with, they've always approved my releases within a really good timeframe, and they've always gotten back to me on any queries I might have... in short, I would highly highly recommend them!!

first time user and not even going to continue.
tonight was truly the worst.... it was like being trapped and you can't get out and the AI bots are useless.
My song has a swear word in the title. Whatever you do..... don't have a swear word in the title. the AI bots are trained to recognize it as "profanity" and assume that we are using it at them in the chat. I could not submit a ticket because it kept saying I was using profanity. I uploaded my 24 bit stereo wav and it took it but then wouldn't switch my track number from 0 to 1. I'd go in and try to upload the track and it would say it's already there, but then claim it wasn't when trying to go to the next page of release steps. My file is the right size and I'm not using profanity..... I couldn't.... get out. It was 2 hours of trying to talk to the bots "My song has swear words in the title. do you understand?"
"yes I do. your song has profanity."
"Can I have my upc number?"
"what is the name of the song?"
"Fat B***h"
I"m sorry I can't help with that
if you're interested in releasing a song, I can help with that.
My song is called Fat B****. And it's coming out on Distrokid. Because it took 7 minutes to upload and set up.
I signed out and in, I verified my ID, I tried various browsers, tried bots, wrote n/a, pending, 0 in all my different attempts.... got a passkey, filled out a w9 ....
and what did they do for me? WHAT DID THEY DO FOR ME?
This was me trying to take my career to the next level but I guess not. How does Snoop Dogg and Madonna and a bunch of rappers with swear words in their songs get anywhere with their release? Must not use this service. The bots are really stupid. The first change to make is assign a UPC immediately or change the drop down menu in the submission tickets so you don't have to enter the number if it's pending. or have it recognize the word "pending" because the bots won't give you the UPC if you have swear words in your title, and then you can't submit the ticket because you have to have a UPC number. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do better for someone else because I'm so defeated I can't possibly imagine trying again. First impressions and user friendly matters to people. Wasting our time with no resolve, no human beings, no end in site, is not what we want to experience. SWEAR WORDS EXIST IN SONGS. It's why you choose the "Explicit" version and declare it. What's the use of filling everything out, giving your first born, to get absolutely nowhere?
