Blatant arrogance.

Getting the loan was easy with these people never had any issues.
Yesterday I found myself in place to be able to pay up early so I did they sent me confirmation of payment said payment has left my account so cancelled dd.
Today ratesetter sent another email saying I must call them as my dd was cancelled. The ARROGANT person said its for my benefit I asked how, you may have cancelled accidentally or you have I stopped him there but bear in mind he had already told me they have the payment.
Just the sheer and blatant arrogance appalling.

Have tried multiple times to pay the…

Have tried multiple times to pay the loan off and can't. It won't accept payments through business debit cards, it won't accept a personal debit card through Revolut and I'm not able to do a bank transfer without sending lots of documentation via email. I just want to pay the loan off and can't. I don't understand why they'v made it impossible.

A shame that they no longer do personal loans.

I have paid off my loan a year early. The loan process was simple , the interest rate very reasonable , and their website was very easy to follow.
Such a shame that they no longer provide personal loans. However, a five star service.
Thank you !

They have been good up until now…

They have been good up until now however, I chose to repay my loan early, I logged in checked the amount outstanding, I deducted the payment that was imminent in 4 days and I now have one more payment to make apparently.... looking online it appears I am not the first person this has happened too. I have contacted them by email to advise and am awaiting a response. It states online there is no extra fee for repaying early so this extra payment makes no sense.

hassle free

Probably one of the most hassle free places I’ve ever obtained a load, term was over 4 years just paid off early, no problem. Easy to do. Unfortunately they don’t lend anymore. Bye RateSetter and thanks for helping me out

Simple requests made impossible

Getting a settlement letter is impossible, the interest is added daily and changes daily so the settlement figure expires everyday. Additionally they will not provide bank details until proof of funds is supplied. The result of this is that using third party companies (webuyanycar etc.) to settle your agreement is virtually impossible. I have found it to be a recurring theme that when requesting any documentation (settlement letter, clearance of finance letter) I receive a 3 line email instead of an official letter with the letterhead that most third party companies require. It has required multiple phone calls every time to eventually get the correct documents. Lastly even after stressing the importance of, and being assured I would receive the requested documents by the end of the day, I received nothing. After two additional calls I was eventually told that the people of that department had left for the day and that I would have to wait till the following morning.

Please avoid at all cost!

The bad reviews somehow are pended to the incorrect Trustpilot account: ''ratesetter.co.uk'' but same company.

This company shouldn't even get 1 star.
It has been the worst experience among all institutions.

The customer service is below standards.

The administration is horrendous, making serious mistakes like populating DMP against my record for many months until I found out and complained.

They refuse to give out bank details for settlement by mortgage lender until proof of source of income. i'm speechless.

Bad servoce

After i have paid off the remaining loan in one lump sum, they still managed withdraw money from my bank.

When i contact them to wire back that surplus they asked me to send my ID, without investigating the claim.

Rubbish!!!!

Supported me through financial difficulty.

I got into financial difficulty after being made redundant and couldn't make a monthly instalment. Justin from RateSetter dealt with everything via my preferred contact method (email). He was polite, empathetic and completely in line with Consumer Duty, ensuring that the plan I proposed was affordable and that I was first on top of my priority bills. He spread the missed instalment over the remainder of the term and transparently explained that while the arrears remained, it would appear on my credit file. I got a repayment link to clear the arrears if I was able to - which I have now done. This means that it will be off my credit file sooner and I can keep making my repayments without any further harm to my file. Justin also provided links to broader debt support firms and charities, including official government help, in case I needed it. Financial Difficulty can happen to any of us and RateSetter is a brilliant example of how financial services firms deliver an excellent customer experience in a debt management journey.

Incorrect settlement figure followed threats for more money and rude customer service

When it came to paying off the balance, I obtained a settlement figure at least a week before the next payment was due, the settlement figure remained unchanged on the day I came to make the payment.

I paid the 'final payment' in full, which was described as such on the app.

Two weeks later I received demands for a further monthly payment, which I had not budgeted for.

I was told that if I didn't pay the extra payment immediately, I would receive a negative report on my credit file.

This is despite the error being of their making, and despite the company receiving payments exceeding £7k from me in the preceding weeks.

To add, their customer service advisor Joe Paul has been particularly unhelpful and has told me I should have realised that the settlement figure that they calculated was wrong...

Excellent service

I've used Ratesetter on multiple occasions and they are a fantastic lender. Their interest rates are reasonable and should you ever face financial difficulty, they go above and beyond to help their customers.
