It is so nice to find truly free tools on the internet which help get your work done fast. That feels to me like a very good use of the interwebs - sharing tools for free. Thank you QRCodeCreator!

Sign-up was quick and not tedious. It didn't feel like I was jumping through a million hoops and giving all my data in order to make one QR code. Plenty of design options for basic needs and brandin... See more

Auto-renewed for €144 with no warning, and now no reply

I signed up for the Advanced plan a year ago. Since then I’ve heard nothing from QR Code Creator. No emails, no updates, and at one point I couldn’t even log in. I never actually used the service after the initial period.

Then on 27 October I was charged €144 (£124.35 in my bank) for another year. No renewal reminder, nothing. Almost every other subscription I have sends a heads-up a week or two before it renews. If I’d had one, I’d have cancelled on the spot.

I emailed the same day asking them to cancel and refund me. I got an automatic reply with ticket #149943037, and then silence. I chased on 3 November and got the same auto-reply, same ticket number, and still nothing from an actual person.

So they can take payment instantly, but can’t answer a simple refund request in over a week? That doesn’t sit right with me.

QR Code Creator, if you’re reading this: please cancel my subscription and refund the €144. You have my ticket number.

Until then, I’d tell anyone thinking of signing up to set a calendar reminder before renewal day, because they won’t send you one.

“Free” QR code required payment after I ordered printed marketing materials

I created a QR code through this website under the impression that it was free and used it on door hangers for my business.

After I had already ordered the door hangers, I received an email saying my free trial was ending and that I would need to pay to keep the code working. I had not understood from the sign-up process that continued use required a paid subscription.

After multiple email exchanges, I agreed to pay $150 because the QR code was already on materials I had ordered. About a week later, I discovered the charge was US$150—approximately C$210. I had not understood that the quoted amount was in US dollars.

In my experience, neither the ongoing subscription requirement nor the payment currency was made clear enough before I committed. Finding this out after ordering printed materials left me feeling pressured to pay.

Anyone planning to print these QR codes should confirm the trial expiry, ongoing subscription cost and billing currency first. These details should be clearly displayed before a customer creates and downloads a code.

‼️ NOT ACTUALLY FREE ‼️

Advertised as a “free QR code generator,” but the code stops working after 7 days unless you pay. I only found out after my code was already sent out for a fundraiser, so I was forced to pay around $300 for an annual plan for a one-time event. If you need a QR code, use a free static generator instead like canva and save yourself from their misleading advertisement.
If I could give 0 stars, I 100% would.

AVOID! Terrible customer service and unfair renewal practices.

Our business was automatically charged £113.06 for another year of a service we no longer use.

We received no renewal reminder that we're aware of, and when we contacted the company to request a refund, they refused, despite us explaining the circumstances.

They claim to have sent a reminder, but we never received it.

We've now had to raise a dispute with our bank to try to recover the money.

As a business owner myself, I'm appalled by this approach to customer service. I would never treat my own customers this way.

AVOID!

THEY ARE 100% SCAMMERS

THEY ARE 100% SCAMMERS. You can generate a persistent QR code for free in many ways from trusted sites and programmes. They will hold your QR code hostage until you pay steep subscription fees, which they will email you about daily. They are predatory. DO NOT USE THEM. They service is NOT FREE.

Shady business and subscriptions

The way they conduct their business seems entirely shady, I would stay far, far away. I used them to generate a QR code for a conference booklet not realizing that it would expire and force payment within one week (which admittedly is on me, and I should have read the fine print - no matter how much they try to hide it initially). Once the QR code expired (one day before the conference), I realized I would have to unfortunately sign up for a paid membership to save myself the panic and stress of navigating fixing all the conference materials. However, they advertise it as a monthly membership, but charge it annually (though they try to make that as hidden as possible until the charge goes through). And then, they refuse to refund folks who realize right after what has happened with the annual membership. Shady, unhelpful, and very untrustworthy.

Please save yourself the headache and stress (and your money) and go anywhere else. There are so many free ways to generate QR codes, and I wish I would have done my research thoroughly beforehand. And if you do want to pay, I can guarantee ANY business would be better to give your money to.

Bad customer service

Annual payment was auto drafted. We never use the QR code, so we respectfully requested a refund. Convertizing LTD refused to give us the refund and stated they sent an email as a reminder, which we never received. As a business owner, I would never treat our customers this way.
