Issues with initial fulfillment of order 12747, lack of follow through on shipment dates then the condition to which the order was received totally unsatisfactory! Not worth the time, hassle or money! No response or replies to emails/ phone calls after package was received.
After 3 months of waiting being patient with the order because of all the excitement and hype. The management advised us that we would be taken care of and that issues occurred while implementing new technology into the system. Then from the top rope disappointed drops a cardboard box held loosely together with clear tape. My jaw immediately dropped was when I saw the condition of package and the thought of “ I paid 400 dollars for this?”. As a customer, how is one to know if this is the initial condition of the package that was sent out of by Porch pirates? Are of the contents that left the warehouse still inside this poorly taped brown box. Please see for yourself ! I have included photos of how I received the package.

Read What “Move Protection” Actually Means
I booked Top Movers through HireAHelper/Porch Moving Group because they were highly rated and presented as “Vetted & Verified.” My experience was very different.
The crew arrived without basic moving equipment and supplies I understood would be provided. I had to leave my own move and make trips to Home Depot and U-Haul to buy straps, tape and supplies myself. I also provided moving blankets and repeatedly asked that they be used. When I unloaded the truck at my destination, I discovered extensive furniture damage.
What happened afterward is why I'm writing this review.
I paid approximately $95 for a “Move Protection Fee.” I reasonably believed this provided meaningful protection for my move. I learned during the claims process that it did not provide additional property-damage protection. I was told it instead covered things such as customer support, payment processing, replacement-crew assistance and claims administration.
I had originally selected SmartProtection, but after canceling and rebooking my move, I inadvertently left it off the new reservation.
That's my mistake.
But after the damage occurred, I read the SmartProtection terms carefully—and what I found surprised me.
Porch's own agreement explicitly states:
“This SmartProtection Coverage is not insurance.”
It also requires a damage claim to be initiated while the movers are still onsite and excludes transit damage.
For my loading-only interstate move, I couldn't see the damage until I unloaded the truck at my destination. The movers were long gone. So even if I had retained SmartProtection on the rebooking, its onsite reporting requirement raises a serious question about how it would have helped with damage I couldn't discover until unloading.
The terms also specify Dallas, Texas as the exclusive venue for legal actions involving SmartProtection.
I then looked more carefully at Top Movers' reviews on HireAHelper's own website and found other customers reporting remarkably similar problems: crews arriving without equipment, customers providing or purchasing equipment themselves, loading problems and damaged furniture. One customer even described repeatedly asking that moving blankets be used and later discovering damaged furniture.
Yet Top Movers was presented as highly rated and “Vetted & Verified.”
After I documented my damages with photographs, receipts and estimates, the compensation offered was only a fraction of my documented loss. I declined it.
I have now filed suit against Top Movers. That case is pending, so the court will determine the disputed issues.
My advice to anyone using HireAHelper/Porch is simple:
Don't assume “Move Protection Fee” means protection for your belongings. Don't assume SmartProtection is insurance—their own terms say it isn't. Read the negative mover reviews, the claim requirements, exclusions and dispute provisions before booking.
I wish I had understood these distinctions before my move instead of after my furniture was damaged.

On delivery of pod, and unpacking by HireAhelper 07/30/26, it appeared that the contents of the pod had shifted during the transport, and many items were jumbled around and not as they had been loaded by HireAhelper. Pads and tie downs were used by the packing crew. I discovered that 2 dining benches and 2 dining chairs have arrive to destination in Evergreen Colorado, from Pompano Beach, Florida, and have rips, holes, dents and scratches in the fabric. They will need to be recovered with equivalent material, which currently is "Yacht-level vinyl white material". Sleep number 5000 mattress has a puncture, leaking all air out in one of the two chambers of the king mattress. Cost for replacement chamber was $307 on Sleep Number website. I filed a claim for $4300 and they offered me $114. Unacceptable. They only reimburse 80 cents per pound, not the value of the repairs.

Andy was FANTASTIC!!! He really took great care in clearing my dryer and making sure it ran smoothly! I used my dryer yesterday and I couldn’t believe how quickly the items were dried. I used a very reputable company last year and they did not take the care and attention that Andy did!

Was told that internet service would be set up and installed, did not receive any correspondence from the provider all because porch never actually set up services. What a waste of time, and was told by the internet company to not go through these 3rd party services because they are terrible.
