Extortion from a Chinese company for a free to use image that predated their website by several years. Nothing new.

If anything, we should sue them in a class-action lawsuit for unfair business practices, blackmail, and extortion.

Harassing "copyright infringement" emails used to pressure enterprise plan purchase

Received a threatening "copyright infringement" email claiming my company had commercially misused two Pngtree images, demanding I buy an Enterprise Plan within 24 hours or face legal action. The images were used exactly once, for a personal, non-commercial holiday post on a private Facebook page — nothing remotely commercial. The email also named a company that was formally dissolved back in 2013 and has no connection to my account, which shows how careless and unverified their "verification" process actually is.
pa

I initially paid for the Enterprise Plan just to make the harassment stop, then canceled auto-renewal — but the threatening emails kept coming anyway. Looking into it further, this appears to be a widespread pattern: numerous other reviewers here describe nearly identical experiences, including being pressured over images they legally purchased or downloaded elsewhere, aggressive "pay $999 or we sue" tactics, and refund difficulties. Reddit threads describe the same scheme as likely fraudulent, possibly run by individuals rather than the actual company, aimed at extorting payment through fear.

Legitimate copyright enforcement doesn't work through vague 24-hour email ultimatums with no proof of ownership or actual commercial use attached. If you get one of these emails, don't panic and don't pay — request documented proof of infringement in writing, and consult a lawyer if the threats escalate. Avoid this company for anything beyond free downloads, if at all.

Our experience raised serious concerns

Our experience raised serious concerns. We received copyright infringement notices accompanied by pressure to purchase an Enterprise plan. After independently verifying that the image was properly licensed through another company, the claim appeared to have no valid basis. We repeatedly asked for evidence supporting the allegation but did not receive documentation that substantiated the claim. Based on our experience, we recommend others carefully verify any such claims before taking action.

Copyright troll. Ignore

Aggressive copyright accusations combined with pressure to buy an Enterprise plan. After investigating, I found the image was actually licensed through Pixabay, making their claim unfounded. Instead of providing proper evidence, they rely on intimidating emails and sales tactics.

Scam company

Scam company. They send threatening copyright emails to push people into buying expensive packages. The content quality is terrible, and instead of improving their service, they seem to rely on pressure tactics and legal threats to scare customers into paying.

People should report these emails as phishing or spam and avoid paying without proper proof. Terrible business strategy, honestly. I’ve never seen anything worse, and it’s only a matter of time before people start taking legal action against them.

EXTORTION

Low and behold, I am one of the victims of this company.

My business received an email stating that we were unlawfully using their image... Except our image WAS licensed through another website.

They are demanding we buy the Enterprise license and they'll drop the lawsuit and everything will be fine...

I'm not buying anything. This image was legally licensed.

They're casting a bunch of fishing lines and hoping one gets a bite and people pay for this license as a way to make money because their business is failing.

DO NOT PAY. It's a scam, it's spam emails, it's EXTORTION.

Aggressive Copyright infringement business

I bought a life time service years ago on offee. Have used maby one or two images to adapt for other thibgs. They still keep sending copyright infringement mails to make me pay more. And they are doing this to many, many people. But they can never prove what they claim and this is just part of their business plan.
Block them and vote them into te ground.

Total scam

Total scam, even if you pay for the enterprise tier, they'll tell you you're infringing on copyrights.

The artwork is now mostly AI Slop.

Save yourself from headaches, stay away from this deceptive website and never give them a cent.

Scam company

Scam company, keeps sending me threatening emails about copyright infringement and that they'll sue me, unless I buy their subscription plan. Bait and switch, as their website touts its royalty free images. But once they get your info, they start to spam you, claiming that they'll sue you. I looked into their company, and have found reviews where people who did buy their "lifetime" plan were being hit up for more money.

Copyright infringement on FREE stocks.

They sent me emails last December, but it went into SPAM box. So, I don't bother to reply not until January 2026 comes. They stated i'm using a company account (assuming im in one). I have a reason for this, I cannot login any personal emails in my company pc so, i just use our company email and registered it. (And I also lazy to register brand new email as well).

In the email stated I have copyright infringement towards their downloaded file which is FREE! .. And they even show my past download which 2020-2025. I never use commercial, only personal. I already done replying to them in January and I have no heard from them anymore. (Yes, they were insisting for me to upgrade to Enterprise Plan) .

Behold, yesterday I received their email and still pushing me to buy their enterprise plan. So, I just deleted the account and reply them for the last time. Bye. SO PUSHY TO BUY / UPGRADE.

Sending very aggressive e-mails

Sending very aggressive e-mails. Scam company. Guess they are on the verge of bankruptcy because they are threatening to sue everyone if they don’t take an Enterprise plan. Illegal, but they are trying. Also they ask you for proof, instead of them proving you ever used any of the images. Crazy.

Demand for Refund and Cessation of…

Demand for Refund and Cessation of Harassment

Dear PNG Tree,

I am writing to formally notify you that your continued harassment regarding alleged trademark infringement has become unacceptable.

I purchased a lifetime subscription for approximately US $200, yet these privileges were revoked, and the subscription was removed from my account. Despite having paid for this service, I was denied full access to its benefits. I will comply by removing the material you have identified as a trademark concern; however, I formally request a full refund for the lifetime subscription I purchased but was unable to use.

I also request that you immediately cease and refrain from any further harassment, including attempts to pressure me into purchasing a new subscription for services I have already paid for. Any materials I downloaded were obtained through my lawfully purchased subscription and remain rightfully mine.

Please note that many customers have reported similar deceptive practices and loss of paid services, which may constitute grounds for a legal class action against your company. Additionally, the negative experiences of customers are reflected in 1-star feedback across multiple platforms.

Failure to issue this refund will leave me no choice but to pursue legal action against your company for deceptive business practices. I maintain that I have not infringed upon any trademark, and my purchase was made in good faith and in full compliance with your terms.

Please consider this a final opportunity to resolve this matter amicably. If no action is taken, my legal representative will contact you to pursue all appropriate remedies, including the possibility of class action litigation.

Sincerely,

Your former customer
