The Pilot Institute’s T.R.U.S.T. (The Recreational UAS Safety Test) course is, without exaggeration, one of the best-designed online learning experiences I’ve ever taken. It transforms what could have been a dry regulatory requirement into a smooth, friendly, and genuinely confidence‑building introduction to safe drone flying.
From the moment you start, Pilot Institute makes everything feel effortless. The lessons are clear, concise, and beginner‑friendly, breaking down FAA rules in a way that actually makes sense. The interface is clean, fast, and intuitive — no clutter, no confusion, just straightforward guidance that respects your time.
What really stands out is how approachable the material is. Even if you’re brand new to drones, the course explains concepts with real-world examples, simple language, and visuals that make learning feel natural. You never feel overwhelmed, and you never feel talked down to. It’s the perfect balance.
The test itself is quick, painless, and supported by explanations that ensure you understand why each rule matters. And the instant certificate delivery is the cherry on top — no waiting, no hassle.
Pilot Institute turns a mandatory FAA requirement into a genuinely enjoyable learning experience. It’s fast, free, professional, and surprisingly engaging. If you’re flying recreationally, this is absolutely the best place to take your TRUST test.
Me encantó el curso bien explicado y muy completo .
Greg,
I really wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks. Today I passed my ENAC PPL theory exam in Italy, and I owe a huge part of that achievement to your course.
Despite the necessary differences between the FAA and EASA syllabi—which, in my experience, are far less significant than many people think—I truly believe this course provides all the theoretical, practical, and airmanship knowledge needed by anyone who is determined not just to earn a pilot’s license, but to become an excellent pilot.
Your course is outstanding, but what makes it truly exceptional is you. Your passion is contagious, and you have an incredible talent for explaining complex concepts in a way that is both clear and enjoyable to follow.
Without your course, considering the pace at which most flight schools teach here in Italy, I would never have been able to prepare for and pass my exam with such confidence in just four months.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to anyone who is considering buying this course but is hesitant because of the FAA vs. EASA differences, my advice is simple: don’t hesitate—get this course. You won’t regret it!
I enjoyed the course Drone Mapping Foundations. It was a little hard for me to follow and understant so I might re watch the course over again. I will need to download the drone mapping software and play around with it to learn. It looks like some of the software is not compatible with the air 3s. I took this course more for a high level learning what is drone mapping and how it might be used.
I completed the Cx3 deep dive. I have been trying to figure out this so I can use it more and this class helped. I left a comment on the YouTube channel and the instructor emailed me quickly thanking me for watching. The level of connection seems to be top notch with instructing and making sure we get the help we need. I am looking into doing the Instrument rating course.
This is a great course has so much info, Questions and answers i never would have ask my self. Thank you
I thought they explained operation well. Good material to reference back to.
Very informative lessons. I'm always learning something new.
Just getting started - The videos have a nice production quality and are bite sized / single subject. Looks good so far!

Great leadership and explanation on the drones and how they work, and how they operate, and a great teacher.

It was very informative! except for - well, we will get to that after a bit. Information for the Aircraft and Props, Batteries and camera were very well presented! Now, back to that little exception - The ND FILTERS! Shows that he had one, very quickly takes it off - then nothing more about it. Not how to remove or install or even what they are. Yes, when you buy them you know (or should) what they are and what they are for. But install and removal should be shown as part of the aircraft.

Informative and easy to use format. The instructor provides the needed details without ever over-communiting the obvious, which keeps the flow interesting and easy pay attention for the duration of the overviews. I like the use of actual drones, with some slide content for specifics, but mostly interacting with the actual equiptment.
