Everything takes a very long time

I wasn't scammed in any way. I just really didn't like how they spent a week trying to approve my account. I tried to convince them by email and sent videos of my service in action. They only responded after a few days. I just got tired of it and used a different service. I don't recommend it.

Lemon Squeezy

Lemon Squeezy — Extremely Disappointing First Experience

I am absolutely disappointed with my first experience with Lemon Squeezy.

I registered as an individual and went through an extremely lengthy verification process. I provided everything they requested — my passport, personal social media accounts, business social media accounts, supporting documents, and additional information — and spent more than a week going back and forth with their team.

After all of that, my profile was simply rejected without any specific or meaningful explanation.

Honestly, I still don’t understand what the actual issue was. I provided the documentation they asked for and fully cooperated with the verification process. Yet after wasting more than a week of my time, I was left with nothing but a rejection.

The entire process also felt unnecessarily complicated and, at times, subjective. I cannot speak to how their internal decisions are made, but based on my personal experience, it felt as though my application was being judged on an individual basis rather than evaluated through a clear, transparent verification process. In my case, my communication was primarily with Tanay, and unfortunately, that was the impression I was left with.

What makes this even more frustrating is how Lemon Squeezy is presented online as one of the easiest platforms for creators and digital-product businesses. That was absolutely not my experience.

And I will be very clear about another part of this: I will be sharing this experience with the YouTube creators and bloggers whose step-by-step tutorials led me to Lemon Squeezy in the first place.

I spent more than a week of my time following these guides and trusting the information presented in them. They made the process look straightforward and easy. In reality, my experience involved extensive documentation, repeated back-and-forth communication, a lengthy verification process, and ultimately a rejection without a clear reason.

If people are publishing step-by-step tutorials about a platform and telling others, “This is how you do it,” then that information needs to reflect the current reality, not an outdated or overly simplified version of the process.

Because if I had known from the beginning that I could spend a full week providing documents, answering questions, submitting proof, and still be rejected without a clear explanation, I would never have started this process.

I would have simply spent that time building my own e-commerce website and connecting a payment solution.

So, Lemon Squeezy, thank you for making me spend a week learning a very expensive lesson about choosing the right platform.

Extremely disappointing first experience. Zero transparency. Far more complicated than advertised. And absolutely not what I expected from a platform positioning itself as a simple solution for selling digital products.

Store application rejected after…

Store application rejected after KYC/KYB submission with zero explanation. Support response: 'We're unable to approve your store' — no details on why, no path to fix it, no appeal process offered. Impossible to know if it's geography, product type, business model, or just a data mismatch. Save yourself the setup time and SSN disclosure; look elsewhere.

I made numerous software sales through Lemon Squeezy, and didn't receive payments. I went online and there was some snafu that I was never notified about. I contacted "support" which you can only do via email, and no response. For days. Finally I got a response and the issue was eventually cleared up. LS really needs to get their act together. As it is, their credibility seems iff-y.

Do not use this company!!

Do not use this company!!!
I wanted to use their services, but my application was rejected with some vague answer.
As I am not aware of anything wrong or illegal, I politely asked them to write me a specific reason for rejection and if there is a chance to fix it and re-apply.
They answered with another vague answer almost the same as before.
So I asked them more specifically if it is the nature of product or something other.
Then they just copy pasted previous answer and that was all. Shreya was signed under it.
I am in the end happy that I was rejected as I cannot imagine paying my money to this shit and arrogant company and then face their shit and arrogant support later.
A customer is just a piece of shit for them.
So I do not plan to use them for other products.
And I really recommend you the same!

Ten days to reject a product they never looked at

Applied on 19 July to sell a macOS network security app — a one-time $19 download. No subscription, no fulfilment, no virtual anything.

Waited ten days. Received a rejection explaining that they don't support "gaming currencies" and wishing me luck in "the gaming space". I have never sold a game or anything game-adjacent. The same email stated they do support "traditional digital goods (like software)", which is a precise description of what I applied with.

I replied with a link to the actual product and asked for a re-review. Four days later: a non-answer about "multiple data points" and payment processor "risk standards", with no acknowledgement that the original decision described a completely different business.

So: ten days of waiting, an identity check, bank details handed over, and a rejection issued against a product nobody read. Had anyone opened the application it was a two-minute decision either way.

Avoid if you need a decision you can actually plan around.

Time Consuming and Unclear Rejection

Spent over 2 weeks waiting to get approved. Was asked to provide information that I've already provided. Was denied with zero indication as to why.

My product has already been running for over 5 years, with paying customers through Patreon. I can not understand what Lemon Squeezy deemed un-approvable.

Waste of time, zero feedback, wouldn't even recommend trying.

1 star is already too generous

1 star is already too generous. If Trustpilot allowed zero stars I would give it.
Lemon Squeezy is the worst Merchant of Record I have ever used.
It took a full month just to get my account approved. After that I used them for 6 months and the experience was terrible from start to finish.
The UI is full of bugs. The dashboard constantly has problems. Sales often don’t show up until support manually fixes them. Support itself takes days to reply to simple requests. Checkout also has issues.
The fees are insane. I sold around $2,700 and only received about $1,990. In total I processed roughly $8,000 with them over 6 months.
Then today I got an email saying my store was suspended for “ToS violations” with almost no real explanation. They just said they are following Stripe and PayPal risk policies and don’t see a long-term partnership as possible.
At the time of the ban I had over $2,000 pending payout. When I asked about it, they said they will refund all the unpaid sales to the customers.
These were more than 100 orders. The customers already received their products. Nobody asked for a refund. I never requested a refund. I only had one chargeback in the entire 6 months (and it was a scammer).
So instead of just losing the $2k pending, I also lose the money I spent to acquire those sales.
This platform is just like PayPal and Stripe — they ban accounts with vague reasons and leave you with nothing. Completely frustrating to wake up and lose everything like this.
Stay away from Lemon Squeezy. Seriously. Stay away.

Website Useless in 2026

Absolutely terrible, stay well away. Lemon Squeezy while looking legitimate is actually just a bricked website in 2026. Me, (and many others based on other reviews) have spent a lot of time setting up products, services, etc. just for them to block payments from ever coming in due to a 'Identity Review'. For me, it has been a 2 month wait (compared to their advertised 1 - 3 business day wait) with no contact from them despite numerous emails and chats with their help bot. Use an alternative service. Don't waste time with this useless website.

DO NOT USE LEMON SQUEEZY

The most useless company I have ever seen. I waited 14 days for my verification, I filled everything I had, I sent them a support ticket asking if anything is wrong after a week with no reply and after 2 weeks of waiting I get an email that my verification was not approved with no explanation??? DO NOT USE LEMON SQUEEZY, they will just waste your time.

Customer support is non existent. Contacted Stripe who acquired lemon squeezy in 2026, they won't help escalate either even when they own lemon squeezy. Lemon squeezy owe me revenue balance without any explanation, resolution, or communication. Completely unacceptable.

TOTAL FAILURE!!!

TOTAL FAILURE!!!! This is an ongoing thing with this failure of a business, that couldn't even approve AN ONLINE BUSINESS TO SELL E-BOOKS!!!! Not only were they incredibly slow, there was ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I'm not a valley girl, but OMG!!!! They tried to get a free sample, and then when I directed them to the web-page where my books where being weekly published and promoted, they denied my application to sell my product after two weeks of their nonsense...
Okay, I'm off to their competitor Paddle. Hopefully they are a more capable merchant of record. Getting tired of loser websites that don't deliver what they claim! Freakin' Losers....

Payout failed and no support response…

Payout failed and no support response in over 24 hours

Muzica store (merchant of record: Lemon Squeezy).
My Stripe account has been in Restricted status since
26 March 2026, causing three payout cycles to silently
fail (April, May, June). I only learned about this on
14 July when the July payout of 421.61 USD also failed.

I have sent 5 support messages in 24+ hours (two to
agent Richard Roxas, three via Contact Support).
Zero substantive response so far.

Four months of held funds without any proactive
notification from Lemon Squeezy is not acceptable
for a merchant of record service.

Will update this review if the case is resolved.

Poor communication, poor transparency, and a frustrating overall experience.

Waste of time. I spent over a week waiting for my store to be activated, only to find out—after chasing down customer support myself—that my perfectly legitimate SaaS product wasn't allowed after all.

The worst part is that this could have been communicated from the start instead of after I'd already set everything up. Customer support is also unnecessarily difficult to find on their website.

To top it off, there's no way to delete your own account. I had to contact support again just to have it removed.

Poor communication, poor transparency, and a frustrating overall experience.

Pathetic situation with Lemon Squeezy.

Pathetic situation with Lemon Squeezy.

I was one of their earlier users, well-wishers, and someone who genuinely provided feedback over time that I believe helped shape the product in some small way.

But apparently none of that matters when their automated systems decide your businesses are not legitimate.

I had 3 legitimate businesses running through their platform. One of them was active, receiving payments, and serving real clients. Another one was just about to launch its Pro edition, I had already done all the work and was almost ready to publish.

Then suddenly, without any prior notice, all 3 of my stores were suspended.

The worst part is that the money I had already earned from one of the stores seems to have disappeared. I cannot access it, I cannot get a clear explanation, and I am not getting my payouts back either.

No proper reason. No useful communication. No real support. Just everything gone overnight.

This is genuinely scary for SaaS founders and indie builders. We build real products, serve real users, and depend on platforms like this to handle payments. But if a company can suddenly suspend everything, hold payouts, and not explain anything clearly, then how are founders supposed to trust them?

It feels like users do not matter anymore. Just automated systems, account bans, and generic responses.

The Trustpilot reviews say a lot.
