The truth about Creem

A lot of reviews here seem to be either one-star or five-star. I’ve been using Creem for the past four months without any issues.

I recently had a payout-related problem, and their support team replied to every email within 24 hours and actively helped me resolve it.

In my experience, Creem genuinely cares about its customers. Their fees are fair for a reliable Merchant of Record service, the platform works smoothly, and the support is responsive.

If you’re building a legitimate startup and want to grow, I’d definitely recommend giving Creem a try.

Use this MoR at your own risk

Use this MoR at your own risk.
there is no dispute resolution center for merchants. If a customer opens a chargeback, you basically cannot fight it.

They also charge a flat $25 fee per chargeback. So if someone disputes a $5 payment, you lose the $5 and get charged another $25. That is a $30 loss on a $5 sale.

Now, if you are going to remove the merchant's ability to fight disputes, you should at least give them strong tools to prevent them in the first place.

There is no manual 3DS option, which is one of the most important controls a merchant can use when certain payments look risky. And there does not seem to be any serious circuit breaker when chargeback or fraud signals suddenly spike, something that could limit further exposure before the losses keep stacking up.

That is the part I find hard to justify. They control the payment flow, they control the dispute process, you cannot defend yourself properly and you absorb the chargeback plus a $25 fee.

For a Merchant of Record, that is a very one-sided risk model. The merchant carries the downside with both hands tied.

Hello OH GOK

Please note that a Merchant of Record is a very different model than a PSP.

This means that, we are liable for any chargeback and fraud claims for products sold under our platform, and therefore, we handle all chargeback and fraud for you, without you having to deal with any of it.

If we see a possibility to win a chargeback, we reach out to Merchants individually without the necessity of bringing more work for you. Kindly note that, fighting a chargeback and losing it means further fees, and therefore our team ensures that this only happens for transactions where there is a good possibility for a win.

Terrible Payment Service

Terrible Payment Service, Terrible Customer Support. First they accept you and your services, You have to work hard to integrate them to your services. After all done, you will waste your time and money. At this step they start to create strange problems. Go away from this company and their services. Don't trust them to collect your money.

My website is an AI tool for removing…

My website is an AI tool for removing audio noise. I integrated Creem in March of this year, and everything went smoothly until July. However, on July 17th, Creem's risk control team blocked my account citing account risk. I had approximately $8,000 in the Creem platform. After multiple communications with customer service, they refused to release the money, which is terrible.

I've seen many others in the community who have had similar experiences. I strongly advise all founders considering integrating Creem as a payment processing platform to stay away from Creem. It is a complete scam.

Hello Yuc,

Apologies for the experience you had in our platform.

Our compliance team is required to maintain risk controls that are widely used in the industry as best practices. In case of breaches and violation of terms of service, such as, processing payments for websites that were not authorised, or for categories that we explicitly do no support, unfortunately such examples of retroactive measures need to take place, specially if fraudulent activity is detected.

We wish you best of luck on your business, and finding partners that are able to work with products and categories that your business operates within.

**1 star — Unfair account termination with no transparency**

I am extremely disappointed with Creem's compliance process.

I am an independent developer running a legitimate AI photo editing SaaS product (Refini). My service focuses on photo enhancement, restoration, background removal, and other image editing features. I have implemented clear Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and moderation measures to prevent abuse.

Despite this, Creem suddenly decided that they would no longer accept payments for my store. They did not provide any specific reason, any evidence of policy violations, or any actionable feedback. The only explanation was that my account presented an "unacceptable level of risk."

What is most frustrating is that there were no significant customer complaints, no chargeback issues, and only a small number of legitimate transactions. I was not given an opportunity to fix anything or provide additional clarification. The decision was simply marked as final, with no appeal process.

For small independent developers, payment providers are critical infrastructure. Blocking a merchant without explaining the actual problem can seriously impact a business that depends on your service.

I understand that payment companies need compliance policies, but a system that provides no transparency and no path to resolution is extremely disappointing.

Developers should be aware that even after investing time into compliance, their store may still be removed without clear explanation.

They're bots and thieves.

This company froze my store after one year of operation.
They froze several hundred dollars.
There are no longer any real people in customer support—just bots.

How can they talk about some checks and risks, and then steal money from clients after several months of work?

They're bots and thieves.

Founders: understand the risk before using Creem as your MoR

I'm the director of a company that used Creem (legal entity Armitage Labs OÜ) as merchant of record. I'm posting this so other founders can weigh the risk.

Creem is holding a confirmed merchant balance of around 10,000 USD belonging to my company.

Their founder confirmed there are no fines or penalties against my business and promised to revert after a thorough business review by their acquirer that should take up to 90 days.

It is now well past 90 days. My messages are being ignored, and the funds have not been released.

If you are a founder considering Creem as your merchant of record, understand that this company is acting like a bunch of crooks.

They may steal your funds, ignore your e-mails, make promises and then disappear.

🚨 WARNING

🚨 WARNING: Massive Scams & Disappearing Funds ($20k Stolen)Do not trust Creem.io with your business. They operate under a highly predatory pattern: they allow you to integrate their platform, process your sales, and accumulate revenue. However, the moment you request your payout, they abruptly terminate your account and seize your funds without explanation. My Experience: Total Funds Stolen: $20,000+ USD completely vanished. The Process: I successfully integrated their API and ran legitimate transactions. When the balance grew and it was time for withdrawal, my account was instantly locked. Customer Support: Absolute radio silence. Every email, ticket, and chat message demanding an explanation or legal recourse has been ignored. They are hiding behind "compliance reviews" to permanently pocket developer and creator revenue. If you use this platform, you are running a massive risk of losing every single dollar your business makes. Avoid Creem.io at all costs.

The best platform for indie devs

The best platform for indie devs or even larger projects. Extremely easy setup, great support, API is properly documented.

Prices and fees are not comparable to alternatives. Just a better platform overall.

Highly recommend.

Developer focused merchant of record

Creem is a payment processor that handles international compliance for all the various taxes by region.

This is an absolute godsend for small Indie devs who just want to get on with their project and not be bogged down with currency handling and compliance paperwork

They have an excellent clean API that allows devs to create flexible product bundles and easily integrate payments into their app.

As a solo dev, I really appreciate that Creem is for devs by devs, and backs it up with super docs and support .. with small margins and fees too. Recommended.

PS: Creem has got nothing to do with idiotic AI scams - they are a payment processor, not a bot farm. Some of the reviews here are downright braindead.
