Match.com chat and video features kept falling short
I went into Match.com expecting decent communication tools, but the video system was poorly put together from the start. Calls would freeze, cut out, or refuse to connect, and the overall experience felt unreliable. After hitting that wall repeatedly I stopped seeing the point.
After that I checked out UABrides.net. Being able to start a live video call without the technical problems removed a lot of friction, and it eventually led to meeting someone in person who I like being around.

This company is RELTLESS with their messages to me. I have UNSUBSCRIBED six times. I am about to file a police report for harassment. I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Texas States Attorney Generals office. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY....IF YOU DON'T, YOU'LL BE SUCKED INTO THEIR ENDLESS VORTEX OF MESSAGES.
This is the worst site I’ve ever been…
This is the worst site I’ve ever been on and I paid for it. Oh my God I’ve gotten one letter in maybe four months one note from somebody that’s the only response. I am not bad looking and I’m fairly active so this site sucks. I do not recommend it. I would recommend FACEBOOK dating or Plenty of Fish something other than match match is horrible.
I paid for a 3 month plan
I paid for a 3 month plan, because it was the best value. I was setting up my profile on the 3rd day of being a paid member and they locked me out of my account, never got a response from a real person , always a computer answer. Asked for a refund, but it looks like I'm out $115.
Match.com will take your money and not…
Match.com will take your money and not refund when they make a mistake. They reached out saying they would fix the issue and then no action on their part. I would never use this service again!
Fake profiles
Fake profiles, outdated profiles and they banned me for claiming I was inciting violence and self harm for posting a quote from Charles Bukowski "We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that death will tremble to take us"
The web site is not user friendly
The web site is not user friendly. I have written two replies to a like and cannot send because I have not written enough about myself. I could not find a way to do this or post. I have wasted my valuable time. They need to make the site simple.
Match should just cease to exist
Match should just cease to exist. Upfront, registration is a challenge in terms of really just not asking enough of the right questions. Like eH, you have to go a long way into the site to get pricing data (do your research beforehand on the tiers and pricing). I took a break half way through registering, and was blocked. No amount of inquiries as to why I was blocked or efforts to get unblocked would accomplish anything. I simply can’t believe how inexcusably poor their customer service is. If they don’t care about doing a good job right up front, I have no intention of using their service.
This is an overall horrible experience
This is an overall horrible experience. I signed up for the one week experience, and upon it's end, cancelled accordingly. That was the first week of June, however, they have continued to charge me "prime" account status. $37.09/most.
They have no "Customer Support " via phone and my email requests, despite screen shots of my bank account screen shots, have continued to no avail. As someone on a Disability balance... This $37/most hurts.
In addition, I feel as though there are a lot of men looking for just a "" one nightstand "... A screw." Nothing personal asked, but they "displayed" themselves. WHAT??
Whatever happened to slipping notes and whispers of affection?
I made this mistake... I hope y don't.
Don’t walk~ RUN!
Don’t walk – run!
If you’re looking for real love do what I wish I had done and go to eharmony.com.
I paid match.com over $100/platinum membership because someone I had once dated might be on there and I really wanted to reconnect with him (because we had an unresolved issue)…. And I truly liked the guy!
But here’s the thing: on Day 3 I had seen enough and decided I did not like the looks of this place at all!
It is absolutely crawling with atheists agnostics liberals and other categories that I will automatically DELETE. So the weekend had passed it was Monday and I canceled my subscription —and they said that they don’t cancel subscriptions
Well that was a lie & I had already had a screenshot of Google saying Yes ~they will cancel subscriptions and described how to do it.
I sent that to them and they still said no I hadn’t submitted it in time. What!?
So right about then I knew that I wasn’t dealing with good people. Shady. “A snake only sheds its skin to become a bigger snake.“
I let it go & decided to see what happened and sure enough there are very few conservatives there.
There’s a lot of really great looking guys a lot ok guys…. But not the level that I’m looking for. I’m looking for a committed Christian.
But I did run into my old date again and that alone made me happy!
So what does match.com go and do?— they start sending me notices that this was taken down that was taken down take it down take it down take it down take it down OK OK …🙄🙄🙄 I went along with it all rather good naturedly.
We all know censorship is totally out of control in this country. (Should know that by now!)
Two days ago I get a notice that I’m permanently banned.
WHAT!?!
They’re probably keeping all my money (and I can go to such & such place to unsubscribe before they take out any more of my money!) Blah blah bleh!
😶😶😶😶😶😶😶😶😶
Whaaat?
So do you think they’re going to do the Solomonic right thing and return even HALF of my money WITH ALMOST ALL MY TIME LEFT ON THE MEMBERSHIP?
Probably not.
Turns out I made a statement that is true. It takes the moral high ground but they’re saying apparently legally I’m not able to say what I said.
What?
If they’re going to take away my First Amendment rights do they do the same to someone who believes the opposite of my viewpoint?Do they deprive them of their freedom of speech?
No ~because the opposing viewpoint is “legal” regardless of the fact that I am right — the act is IMMORAL. IMMORAL ALBEIT LEGAL. 😶😶😶
WHY NOT SIMPLY ALLOW FREEDOM OF SPEECH?
It’s the same old thing: liberals can say whatever they want but they reserve the right to put their hand over the mouth of anyone who disagrees with them.
That’s how they roll.
Granted it’s their website but guess what ~it was my money and this is not what I paid for ~this is not the kind of treatment anyone deserves.
If they’re going to act that way then they should return my money.
So now I’ll simply have to be nice and hope they “Go to hell but get there safely!” 😁🤭😂
Bizarre
Had an account for about 6 months, only liked 3 people over that time. Got a match, sent one message, and my account was banned 5 minutes later. "Customer care" sent an automated response when I appealed in total confusion and nobody has reached out. Absolutely terrible company and service. I read the ToS and broke none of them and as far as the match is concerned I just deleted my account as soon as they reached out to me. How nice.
Banned after 10 years with zero explanation and worthless customer support
I have used Match off and on for over 10 years with zero issues or incidents. I set up a new account and was actually ready to purchase a subscription this morning, only to discover that my account was immediately banned.
I followed their directed procedure and emailed customer support to find out why. Instead of a helpful answer, I received a curt response that completely ignored my question. Since the email explicitly stated to reply if I had any further questions, I replied to ask again. Their follow-up was even worse: still zero explanation, accompanied by a lazy brush-off stating that no further replies would be sent.
To be treated with such apathy after a decade as a customer is absurd. Match’s customer service is utterly worthless, but at least they saved me the cost of another subscription. The app is uninstalled, and I strongly advise anyone thinking about paying for this service to take their money elsewhere.
Just joined 2 days ago
Just joined 2 days ago. Was suddenly blocked and can't get anywhere with customer service! Complete scam! Took money from my account and can't log on now. They're telling me that they can't find my profile with the email I registered with even though they sent a copy of that Very registration to that same EMAIL! I feel scammed out of money by this App with absolutely no explanation as to why I'm blocked from accessing my profile! Sent multiple emails and opened up a complaint case and still got nowhere! Avoid this dating App at all costs as they take your money and you get blocked for no reason! My photo is still on my profile now and I can't access it to remove it! Surely this breaches my GDPR rights! Furious about this!
I have never been so ripped off
I have never been so ripped off. This is the most horrible place to meet people. Everyone is low effort, zero investment, if they have any agency it’s only because cause they wanna get their d*ck wet. It is a carousel of “so-and-so has been deleted because of fraudulent behavior”. I swear to God, 50% of the man I’ve had any contact with, have been deleted due to fraudulent behavior. Honestly, it should be illegal and then the second my subscription runs out all of a sudden I’ve got 35-40 likes, when on average I get 3-5 a week. And 99% of those guys never go past saying hi or giving you the like. I’m not saying I never met anybody. I did. I’m not saying that I didn’t go out on dates. I did. In 18 Months of being on Match I probably went out 40 times on a first date, 5 or 6 times on several dates with the same person, but in the end, I don’t have a relationship. I don’t have a long-term friendship. I don’t have a casual friend to hang out with. I don’t even have a business introduction. I’ve got zero. Match should be taken down. It should be in front of the Congress due to the mental health issues it causes for both men and women. Honestly, the government should make it illegal. If they’re trying to take down social media because kids are killing themselves. This is no better. It’s only adults that want to kill themselves instead … don’t waste a penny!!!
Met entirely too many men who weren't…
Met entirely too many men who weren't who they said they were. I ran photos thru Google and Social Catfish and learned a lot. My favorites were two men who were male models, gay and married. Complained to Match but as long as they are collecting their money they have given me the impression they don't care about anything else
Banned for life, no explanation
I would not give match.com even one star. I was on their site for a month and was communicating with a couple of matches to meet. Suddenly, I could not get into my account. I got a message that I was blocked from my account. When I asked why, I received a response that stated I was banned from all match group sites with no explanation as to why. I appealed and was told they reviewed my account and the ban would not be removed, again with no explanation as to what rule I broke. I never received an email from them telling me my account was banned. I read many reviews with the same scenario. And of course, there is no way to get your money back. There is no phone number or online chat for customer service. It is all AI driven. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My recommendation is stay away from all of Match Group's dating sites because the banning for no reason happens on all of them. I cancelled my subscription right after signing up to avoid the automatic charges for renewal and not soon after, I was banned.
DREADFUL
Absolutely the worst of ALL WORST DATING WEBSITES!!! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE
Full of SCAMMERS
Full of scammers. After reporting scammers they do nothing, they just email
Saying that they have decided to not take action against the scammer so he gets to stay on the site. When you report someone there is no where to say what happened. Will NEVER use them again
They took my payment then locked my profile
They took my payment, then, without providing reasons or facts, locked me out of the account. I dont even know what I am being accused of! I emailed them requesting details of what happened - which they refused to provide. Conveniently, they kept my money. Total scammers! I hope they lose their business license and get sued!!!
