Absolutely terrible Customer Service. Would not recommend this product.
Product loses it's keys
Tough product to deal with. Problems with losing our keys due to the multi-connect pos product is beyond frustrating, having to reset all keys for all users, and it keeps happening (3rd time now). Why does this pos lose it's keys?!?!? Who knows. Can you save them? Nope, too stupid of a unit to save the keys so you can reset the pos, restore the keys, and move on... Sick of dealing with this unit.
Three months old multiply problems.
Three months old multiply problems. Customer service??? don't call they never answer.
Just set up a call back online for next week see if that works. so far two blown fuses gate never closed in the same spot sometimes opened okay sometimes would stop during travel and start back up. Now doesn't work at all. Update 7/29/2026 They called back per schedule confirmed problem and sent new motor quickly, they need to change recording.
3 years and 3 months
3 years and 3 months, thats how long the arm lasted. The housing broke in half, arm went to wobbling and wollered out the screw part on the arm. After 1 year We had problems with the phone app. Support said it was my phone, except my 3 sons live on my property and my mother, nobodies phone worked. Had to reset the system, delete all keys and assign new keys. I lubed it once a month with white lithium including the gate hinges. It was decent for 3 years. If you want a lifetime gate go with one of the higher quality companies. Support is dodgeful at best, and warranty is up to 24 months.

Ben at Ghost Controls A++…
Ben at Ghost Controls provided outstanding customer support. He spent over an hour patiently walking me through troubleshooting steps and helped me fully resolve the issue. His knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to making sure everything worked correctly were exceptional. It’s rare to find support this thorough and committed. Highly recommend Ghost Controls and especially Ben for their excellent service.
Install a ghost control TSS one on a 14…
Install a ghost control TSS one on a 14 foot lightweight driveway gate at my residence. Can’t get the control arm to stop in the same position more than about two times before it’s either too long or too short and won’t engage the zombie lock and consulted with support from ghost controls, but they don’t seem to have any real reliable answer. Thinking I should’ve spent the extra money and gone with LiftMaster.
Ghost control support/warranty is a Joke
Ghost control is a Joke. My electric gate opener maybe lasted maybe 4 months then it stopped working. Customer service is no help. did every test they told me to do multiple times, adjusted bracket mounts, sent pictures and a video like they asked, etc. Nothing came of it. They just ask me to repeat everything again and again. All I would get from them was they're warranty states they need to keep trouble shooting. And they say if they end up sending me a new motor and it still does it then they will void my warranty completely so all they can do is trouble shoot again. ugh
They don't last.
They don't last.
May get 6 or 12 months out of the various components. Then they break and your wife is inevitably pissed about having to disconnect the gate during the rain when she is already late. A few years back when there was an issue they were quick to make it right. Now, this morning, some young snotty kid talked to me like I'm an idiot for thinking the arm I bought less than 6 months ago would qualify for warranty. Bad product and now bad customer service. Never again. Trying the mighty mule.
Works for 7 to 9 months
Works for 7 to 9 months. Extremely bad on batter, can not use a
AC power without purchase of different circuit board. Had a Might Mule for 3 years, worked great, but made heater gates. I didn't have positive moments. Service is not available or poor.
Terrible Customer Service& NO FOLLOWUP!
Terrible Customer Service and NO FOLLOW UP for technical problems! I recommend not buying any products from Ghost Controls! I installed a new dual gate system in July 2024. After good normal operating performance for appox. 90 days...... things went wrong. Operators on both gates began operating erratically and sometimes not able to open at all....... and seemed confused as to open or closed. TO DATE, I CAN NOT GET THIS SYSTEM TO OPERATE RELIABLY OR DEPENDABLY. One of the times that I Was able to get a technical representative, the "grudgingly" sent me out a new controller board on warranty. After installing the new board, the system operated properly for 2 days and began operating erratically once again during our first cold snap. My batteries and solar panels operate and indicator panel lights are all within "specification" My experience contacting "Technical Service" option 3 on the phone tree is as follows:
1) Leaving a message or inputing your phone number to get a call back ..... NEVER happens
2) Sending an email and expecting to get a response back for help NEVER happens
3) I have waited on hold for a customer service person is at least 30 - 45 minutes...... even when told your "wait time" would be 10 minutes.
4) My gate is some distance away from my house and takes several minutes to get to the gate to have a trouble shooting telephone session....... The rep would NOT wait for me to get there after explaining to her that I have waited for calls back and waited on hold for the next Tech Rep! She said she would give me a call back in a "few minutes" so I coudl get there with my small screwdriver and transmitter........... NEVER HEARD back after waiting for the call in sub zero temperature!!
5) I have tried calling back on several occasions for help only to hear that your waiting time will be 45 minutes (or more)!
6) I am made to feel that I am either a problem calling or my time does not matter.
As of now....... I have a brand new expensive dual gate opener system that is inoperable and UNRELIABLE.
I have been more than patient with these people and they DO NOT CARE! It appears that the company is growing way to fast, do not have enough staff to take care of problems and have no sense of customer care. This is reinforced by the fact that the wait time to get help is painfully long and that they NEVER (at least to date in my experience) get back to you........ by phone or email!.......... UGH!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY A GHOST SYSTEM!!!!!!!
Good product, not much useful tech support
The product is excellent and easy to install, however, when you contact tech support with questions concerning your installation, they clearly are under instructions to simply refer the customer to the installation instructions, or they just repeat them to you over the phone. I guess they are concerned about liability. I get it, but that is not helpful. I can read. For example, they will not move off of using 16/2 wire of no more than 100ft on their 30w solar panel. Any electrician will tell you that 12/2 would work better at all distances, without excessive voltage drop on this low volt system when further than 100ft. I tested the solar panel with the installed 12ft of 16/2...24v. I tested the panel at 112ft connecting 100ft of 12/2 to the installed wire...23.7v. I tested the panel at 200ft using 12/2 connected to the 12 ft of 16/2....23.7v. I tested it with just 200ft of 12/2...23.7v. The panel is rated from 18-22v, so all of my results exceeded that. I live in a forest, so the additional distance is very helpful to find sunlight. Wassssupp Ghost Controls? Try to be more creative for your customers.....thus only 4 stars. Final note, desoldering the installed 16/2 is not hard. Installing 12/2 in its place required some slight mod to the connection box for the thicker wire, but it is not rocket surgery.
THEY JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE!
When this company was new, they were responsive and showed care for their customers. That is no longer true. Now it seems that since their business has grown, THEY JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE! They don't answer their phone, they don't call back, and they DON'T EVEN ANSWER EMAILS!!!! The opener we purchased is definitely better than their NO customer service policy.
Awesome company
These guys have great products and their customer service is absolutely incredible! I’ve had their system for years now and the couple small issues I had were quickly resolved by their customer service team.
Great company!!
I love my Ghost Controls gate operators! They are a great company and tech support has been outstanding!! I was able to schedule a Saturday call from tech support when they are normally closed, which was resolved and replacement part was being shipped. I’m glad I chose Ghost Controls over others I considered. Five out of five stars!
I've owned a single Ghost control for…
I've owned a single Ghost control for about 3 years. It's on a 12' green farm gate that weights under 100 Lbs. I've had to replace the arm 2 times already and just attempted to replace the are for a 3rd time.
The company rep. trouble shot the problem with me and had me cut a diode out of the arm thinking it got hit by lightning. Still didn't work so the rep told me the arm was bad and I needed a new one. He NEVER said it could be anything else.
I bought a new arm, put it on and nothing. The same error codes I was getting before the replacment. When I called Ghost for further help, the rep told me it must be the circuit board and that would be another few hundred bucks.
Since I was told the arm was bad and I needed to buy a new one, I threw the old arm away so I could not put it back on. Now I have to buy a new board? I asked Ghost if they would cover any of the cost for the new board and was told NO. I then said I would return the new arm and buy a dependable Might Mule. The rep did not like that much and wouldn't pay for return shipping of the arm. Another $50 thrown away on a ghost control.
I've owned Mighty Mules on mutiple gates for a long time. No problem, ever with Mighty Mule. I just wanted to try something different.
MY MISTAKE BUYING A GHOST CONTROL. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISIONS BUT I WON'T EVER BUY ANOTER GHOST CONTROL, EVER! Not when Mighty Mules are better priced and I've had no problems.
Ghost Control products are great
I have had a Ghost Control gate opener for a year or two. It has been great in every way. Great features and accessories, It functions flawlessly and the remote controls work well.
The only thing better than their product is their customer service. I have contacted them twice. The first time was when I had a problem in the initial setup. The native English-speaking representative walked me through the setup and identified the problem.
The second time was recently. After we had a very lot of rain, my wooden gate started sticking and caused everything to get out of adjustment and it started seizing up. I called customer service and got another excellent rep. She knew the product very well and patiently took me through steps to correct the issue.
