Worst Experience Flying....
I am updating my previous review to warn passengers about the deceptive, unlawful claims-handling practices of LEVEL Airlines. Following a severe 21-hour and 50-minute delay to my final destination, LEVEL is systematically evading its legal obligations under European Law.
My flight was disrupted by LEVEL, leading me to request that American Airlines (the ticketing carrier) to rebook me to my final destination. Per the binding CJEU ruling Folkerts v Air France (C-11/11), statutory compensation is strictly determined by the arrival delay at the final destination caused by the operating carrier's disruption. Rebooking via a partner airline does not waive passenger rights or absolve the operating carrier of liability. Despite this, LEVEL has rejected my claim twice within hours using rapid, automated, canned responses designed to wear me down.
The First Denial: They vaguely stated the flight "was not eligible," completely failing to provide a legally valid exception (like weather or ATC restrictions). Operational or technical failures do not exempt them from paying out.
The Second Denial: After I demanded a manual review and submitted my receipts for mandatory expense reimbursement, LEVEL resorted to a blatant lie. They claimed they notified me of the flight modification 14 days in advance. In reality, the very first notification of the disruption arrived while I was already inbound to Miami (MIA).
Because LEVEL relies on automated bots to break EU consumer laws and spread misinformation, I am officially bypassing their support. I am escalating this case directly to the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA).
Do not expect this airline to honor the law if your flight is disrupted. You will be met with an automated wall of lies.
I booked a multi-leg itinerary through American Airlines. The first leg (PHX to MIA) on AA metal went smoothly. However, the international leg was operated by LEVEL (via Iberia), which resulted in the worst travel experience of my life. If you see LEVEL anywhere on your itinerary, do not book. I should have known this wasn't going to go well when 2 weeks before my trip I was bumped from Premium Economy to Economy.
The Service Failures: The "Delay" Misrepresentation: While mid-air on my first flight, I received an email stating my 10:00 PM flight was delayed until 5:45 PM the following day—a 20-hour disruption that felt more like a cancellation and rebooking.
Abysmal In-Flight Chat Support: I used LEVEL's in-flight chat feature to get details, but the agents were incredibly rude and completely unhelpful.
Absent Airport Support: After landing in Miami, the LEVEL customer service desk was completely unstaffed and didn't open until 6:00 PM (two hours after I landed).
Vague & Substandard Accommodation: When staff finally arrived, they gave zero guidance. They handed out a QR code for lost luggage and a physical address with no hotel name. I had to Google the address to find out it was a 3-star airport Comfort Inn.
Constant Timeline Shifts: I checked into a different hotel to ensure safety and comfort. At 4:30 AM, after barely sleeping, I got another email stating the flight was pushed back further to 10:50 PM.
The Resolution: Out of frustration with LEVEL's incompetence, I bypassed them entirely and contacted American Airlines directly to rebook my flights. The only other communication I ever received from LEVEL was a measly $25 voucher sent at 11:00 AM the next day.
Final Verdict: Watch your reservations closely. Major carriers like AA frequently contract out to low-cost subsidiaries like LEVEL, and when things go wrong, you are left completely stranded. Avoid at all costs.

⭐️ 1 STAR – TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH LEVEL AIRLINES
My experience with LEVEL Airlines has been extremely disappointing. Honestly, I expected much better from an airline.
LEVEL changed my flight, which was originally scheduled for June 18, 2026, to June 19, 2026, without proper prior notice. As a result of this change, they also changed the seats I had originally selected and paid $80 per seat for, causing my family to be separated during the flight.
The flight change had even more serious consequences. Because of the schedule change made by LEVEL, I missed a connecting flight I had booked from Barcelona to Zurich. This completely disrupted our travel plans and caused us significant inconvenience, additional expenses, and frustration.
What has been even more disappointing is LEVEL’s lack of willingness to provide a reasonable solution. I have requested that they replace my ticket or allow me to change it to March 20, 2027, but the airline refuses to help and has not offered me a satisfactory alternative.
It is unacceptable for an airline to change a passenger’s flight, modify seats that were paid for in advance, separate a family, and cause the passenger to miss a connecting flight, only to then refuse to take responsibility and provide a reasonable solution.
LEVEL Airlines, this is not the way passengers should be treated. When an airline makes a change that affects an entire itinerary, the least a customer should expect is proper communication, responsibility, and a reasonable solution.
I do not recommend LEVEL Airlines, and after this experience, I would not travel with this airline again.
⭐️ 1/5 – Extremely poor experience and unacceptable customer service.

Flexible ticket, but changing flights is a nightmare
booked a flexible ticket with LEVEL, but changing my flight has been incredibly frustrating. For the past four weeks, the website has shown an error page every time I try to change it. One chat agent helped me once, but otherwise I am told there are no flights available, even though I can see them for sale on LEVEL’s own website. What’s the point of a flexible ticket if you can’t actually use that flexibility?

Better to take a boat
Flight from Barcelona to Buenos Aires. After landing in Bs As our 5 bags (for a family of 4) were missing. In fact, all the bags from the flight were missing, which meant 2 hours to start the claim because everyone on the flight needed to do it. How on earth you don't load a single bag on the flight, unless it is on purpose, it is beyond me.
No news for 4 days about the bags. We called or chatted every day with someone from Level, and every time we were told that there were no news, and that the last time the bags were scanned was in London on our BA flight to Barcelona. On the fourth day I was contacted by a random driver saying that they were dropping our bags that same evening. Level did not manage to inform us a single thing in 4 days.
Bags received, one was completely destroyed with two holes in two different corners.
Raised two claims, one for the expenses for a family of 4 with nothing for 4 days, in winter flying from summer (ALL our bags were missing), and assuming the bags would not arrive, as informed per level. They did not want to cover even 25% of the spend (basic things such as clothing, some medicines). After several emails we managed to recover about 60% of what we spent.
Still fighting for the damaged luggage, according to them two holes in the bag is aesthetic damage and not covered, although the bag is unusable and needs to be replaced.
Awful service, no accountability, inexistent information throughout. Stay away from this airline. We definitely will.
I have both claim numbers and all documentation available if needed.
Update: after several general-copy-paste emails they refuse to cover the damage they did to the bag, which is unusable as it has two big holes in two corners. They claim they do not cover aesthetic damage but never managed to explain how this is aesthetic and not structural. Totally incompetent and not accountable. Disgusting customer service.
Update 2: I accepted 200 EUR for the 5 lost bags for 4 days (although we spent considerably more). Level paid the money, but somehow the 200 EUR ended up being £140, that is a conversion rate of 0.7, anywhere in the market you get around 0.85, so basically they, again, managed to pay less than what they should have. Absolutely useless and to be honest, evil.
Response to the answer below:
This appears to be another standard, copy-and-paste response. You say that you would be happy to review the current status and check for updates, but both claims have already been reviewed repeatedly by the same team over the past two weeks. I do not need another status update or to be referred back to the people who have been dragging this out. I need the name or contact details of a different team, supervisor or complaints escalation function with the authority to independently review how these claims have been handled. Otherwise, your public offer to “review” the cases is meaningless.
There are two unresolved issues:
1. Damaged luggage: LEVEL returned the suitcase with two holes in the shell, leaving the interior visible and making the suitcase unusable. Despite the photographs and repeated requests for an explanation, LEVEL continues to classify this as “aesthetic damage” without explaining how a perforated suitcase remains fit for use.
2. Delayed-luggage expenses: I spent approximately £300 on essential replacement items after all five bags belonging to our family of four were missing for four days. I accepted LEVEL’s settlement of €200, but only £141 reached my account. That is an effective conversion rate of approximately £0.705 per euro, far below the normal market rate. I require confirmation of the amount and currency actually sent, together with an explanation of where the missing value went.
If LEVEL, as you say in the reply, genuinely understood what happened, it would own up to its mistakes and take responsibility instead of posting sympathetic words publicly while refusing to address the evidence privately. Saying you understand costs nothing. Accountability means acknowledging what went wrong and putting it right.

The flight back to NY from Barcelona…
The flight back to NY from Barcelona was a direct smooth flight. The stewerdesses were good people, not the friendliest but we're ok. They didnt even offer a blanket for the flight which was kind of a chilly one. When i asked for one. They said it will be 5 euros. The extra cup of water we asked for was given with hesitation. I will never fly with this airline again. By far one of the cheapest and worst of flights I've ever flown. I've probably flew over 50 flights easy. So no go by me. Stay away.

Bad cancellation and no payment of due compensation
They cancelled my flight from Chile to Spain the night before, gave me no information about my rights, a phone number that was not existing, no possibility to reach costumer service and then a new flight departuring 4 days after my original flight. I’ve been waiting since MARCH to get the 760 euros compensation and they keep making me fill in data and holding me in a loop without paying. Exhausting and terrible experience, would not recommend.

Poor communication
I missed my connection due to a 3 hour delay causing to me stay overnight in Los Angeles. At the terminal, there was also no explanation about whether or not the flight was delayed. In Barcelona, we had to sit in the airplane for 2 hours with no air conditioning before taking a bus to another airplane. The airline refused to reimburse the costs I paid for a hotel and meals during that time.

Lost bag
I flew with them two days ago. Terrible airline. They literally "leveled me "We checked in 4 bags, they all look the same and somehow one bag did not make it to Barcelona. It was straight flight. Two days later still nothing. We have a cruise to board in a day and my daughter's bag is missing with no sign of them locating it. We had to stay 2 hours in line in airport to fill out report which is worthless. Needless to say that their food was disgusting, I ate nothing despite food being included in my airfare. Seats were uncomfortable to the point I had back pain even after exiting the plain. I would not recommend this airline to anyone and myself would never fly with them again even if it will be free ticket .

I originally booked my trip on Iberia…
I originally booked my trip on Iberia Airlines. The flight from LAX to Barcelona was nice. They cancelled my return flight and rebooked me with Level. I am not quite sure how this airline continues to exist. Customer service is non existent. The agents at the counter make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them when checking in. Once on the plane, they charge for EVERYTHING. I asked for a blanket and the flight attendant told me that they did not have anymore because they sold them all. We’re now selling blankets as if they’re collectibles? And when on an Airbus A330-200 do you not provide enough for the 250+ passengers that MIGHT ask for them? I know in the day and age where travel is expensive, people want to save a dollar and find inexpensive plane tickets. My recommendation would be to purchase the more expensive flight because after being nicked and dinked, you’ll pay the same amount. If you MUST fly Level Airlines I will give them 5 stars because they got me to my destination. You too can rest assured knowing you will arrive at your destination, but make sure you have VERY low expectations and you will come out pleased and perhaps write a 5 star review.
