I love to scroll through the big variety of media in different languages - and to read my favorite austrian newspaper. and, as I recently experienced, the customer service is great - one of them - Mara - helped me in short time and very professionell and friendly - thanks for that!

The Readly app has been revamped. It was supposed to be an improvement, which is, after all, the whole point of a revamp.
It doesn’t seem to have worked out. It’s more confusing (previously, you could tell you’d read a magazine because a tick was displayed, and all the magazines you’d marked as favourites were grouped in one section) and has lost some of its quality. A lot of content is now only available as a PDF. This means you can no longer interact with it and, for example, solve a Sudoku puzzle directly.
It’s definitely backfired

Lost in Readly! That’s me! Love it! Knitting patterns and recipes galore (my favourites) but also news of the Royal Family and in times of political issues, all the newspapers to browse through! Truly amazing!

Readly looked great with variable selection to read and explore, unfortunately it was not my taste or for me.
This is okay, you can't discuss taste and it's just my humble opinion.

My bad rate is not for the the app or website itself but it's for the service and the customer service in specific.
I had an issue accessing my account to cancel my subscription before deducting the money (for the reason mentioned above), i couldn't since i was not in the EU for technical reason beyond my comprehension. I cancel once i was able to (3 min. beyond the subscription/ fees deducted) and contacted the customer support to waive me fees since i canceled and haven't used it at all.

Their reply that it wasn't matching their terms and conditions and it can't be refunded.
My experiences with other services in semilar cases, and if you haven't used their services they totally refund you because it fair and it's all about customer satisfaction (otherwise they wouldn't ask anyone to rate their experience). and it's not about the effort or resources you invest in your product, it's about the quality your customer get.

So for me, it very unpleassant experience that i don't recommend (my humble opinion)

Cancelled over a year ago.within the last 6 months they reupped my subscription without me know. Don't pay dumb when you write a count either..yes, I do know how to cancel stuff ..its ok..ill just get a new card and you guys won't ever get it again.hope you have fun with the 70 plus dollars you have gotten out of me for the last 6 months ..

It‘s like owning one of these magazine shops at the airport. A universe of publications at ones fingertips. Always amazed how many different interests people have and how narrow the own universe is.

Among all my subscriptions this one ranks on the top. Should have gotten it years ago. The selection is great and it saves me substantially on cost.
I wish though there would be more on scooters (the ones with combustion engines, e.g. Vespa).

What is missing to really good usability is a search function which searches only magazines subscribed by me.

I had an account in uk website. I cancelled the subscription and they charged me for 2 more months. I dont know where to cancel and i cant access the premium as well. but they fixed it and refunded my money.

I cancelled my subscription after 1 month, planning to pick it back up in a few months. But next payment was taken out & my account had been ‘reactivated’ even though I did not do this.
After speaking to support, when I said I would be cancelling my account they cancelled it for me - which I did not ask them to do - even though I still have a month now paid for.

They are scammers. On top of terrible website and app.

I have contacted the support team many many times and I only recently received a reply saying I had nothing on my email even after I re sent it along with a screenshot of my complaint.

When I try and read a magazine they have a pop up add that comes up so I then I click not now and it makes not one bit of different, so I am paying for nothing.

I canceled my membership and have to say, it worked at the beginning for a few weeks, then after that nothing even when you try and contact them is a complete waste of time as they only got back to me with 1 reply even after many emails.

Why is consumer agency not looking at this.

I am so disappointed in Readly! Absolutely loved the app, and had every intention of keeping it.. I have had it for a year. For the past four months they started billing me twice on the same card each month. I have emailed numerous times sending screenshots of my bank statements showing the double billing error. I didn’t want to cancel, only wanted them to stop double billing me and to refund me the amount over billed. They sent me back a very short email saying they had only charged me once a month and have a nice day. I re-sent the screenshots and emailed three more times and have never received another reply. I’m left to conclude this company is intentionally scamming its customers or why would I be ignored? If you are considering getting this app DO NOT! **** Addendum after the Readly Reply below ***** The second email address Readly claims I signed up with is my email address with an extra “m” on the “.com”. This of course makes the email address invalid and no reputable company would bill an invalid email address.... and I, of course, would have had no reason to sign up for an additional account with an invalid email when I was already paying for Readly on my actual email account.

Fraudulently took payment DESPITE my cancelling well in time, abiding by their own terms and conditions, and receiving cancellation email. Screenshots sent, no refund.

Well there it is...fair warning for all to read. This dodgy outfit have to be one of the most unscrupulous operators you could possibly find.

What's so sad is you would expect a service offering a reading service to have some sort of moral compass. However, they behave more like a cowboy bookmakers. Tricking people into automatic payments unlike any other online service I have used. They then repeatedly make the same excuse to the numerous scammed victims of their behaviour.
Their mealy mouthed generic emails are fooling no one.
Their method is to deliberately allow people to inadvertantly pay for a service they do not want then sight the T&C's as if they are fair.

The service will not survive this behaviour for long....but they will pocket enough loot to make it worthwhile for them, then dissapear just like any common bandit does.

Great selection and fair price. Good user experience as well, especially on a tablet. I can't reproduce the many complaints on here about billing issues, always seemed very easy and reliable to me.
