Customer care is different than Customer Service

It was amazing on the day before Memorial Day weekend to experience GREAT customer care, not just customer service. Management at Brakes Plus and potential customers need to know that Vince Catrin at the store at 5800 S Kipling Pkwy, Littleton, CO 80127 is a real find. I brought in a semi-restored 1990 Honda CRX that he and his staff determined had a single missing bolt on the right front disk brake caliper. They inspected the area for damage, replace the bolt and called me to come and get the car in less than 4 hours.

Vince listened carefully to my initial description of the sounds and performance and noted the concerns. He explained their daily crush before the Memorial Day rush. He then set a path forward that established doing the right things the right way. All done with a sincere tone of caring about me.

I arrived with an expectation of a considerable bill involving minimum charges at least, diagnostic charges and parts costs. Vince turned the invoice toward me to read - it said ZERO.

Now that’s CUSTOMER CARE! It is different than customer service.

Sincerely,
Judson Morhart

Kaitlyn and Matt did a great job standing behind their work. i had my brake system flushed (as well as axle seals replaced and other work) and after i got the truck back it seemed that the fluid wasn't as clear as i expected. i informed Kaitlyn and she was happy to have Matt redo the work for free. Hard to find companies these days that stand behind their service like Brakes Plus.

Jem provides amazing service

Jem provides amazing service. I found that my skid plate was dragging on the ground under my daughter's car. I brought the car to this shop a couple of minutes before closing last Monday. I said I could just leave it overnight. Jem immediately put the car on the lift and bolted it back on. No charge. I was super impressed with his level of service, really great guy. Now my daughter can drive the car to work the next day, incredidly helpful!

Free minor repair plus complimentary tire inflation

A panel on my undercarriage, near the front fender, had come partly loose and was dangling toward the pavement. I took my vehicle to the 400 N Central Expy (Richardson) location today, and store manager Scott White removed the panel and gave me a complimentary air-up of my tires all free of charge. (He stated the panel is primarily for water protection but that removal is common and not generally risky for normal driving.) He also recommended an oil change and gave me a $20-off coupon when I said I would look into getting that done someday soon. Scott was polite and efficient -- the whole process took barely over 20 minutes -- and again, free of charge. I'm quite satisfied with my visit.

Wrong drain bolt seal used

We took our vehicle in for an oil change. Everything initially seemed to go really well. If that was all I would give 4-5 stars. But there was a very minor oil deposit on the back of the engine that they noted and wanted to charge extra for another visit. We took the vehicle in to the dealer and they discovered an oil leak at the drain bolt. Turns out Brakes Plus used the wrong kind of oil drain bolt crush washer causing a problem there. They used a cheap copper seal instead of the required one for our vehicle. The minor oil deposit was cleaned by the dealer and they will check again in 1000 miles to verify if it is really any issue that needs repair or not. The dealer services for us are free.

Had a break pad go out and tear up a rotar on my wife's car on her way home from work. Jordan was able to get us in and fixed so she could get back home within a couple of hours. They worked hard to fit us in and get everything taken care of so she could reliably get to work the next day. I appreciate yall ✌️

I had an appointment on July 3, 2026 at the Lakewood, CO store at 10600 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215. Andrew, the service manager was very knowledgeable, competent and accommodating. NOT HONEST - CAR LOCKED IN GARAGE HOLIDAY WEEKEND - PAID -Was Supposed to be in Lot

I dropped my car off at Brakes Plus on Coit Rd. and Parker on July 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. I told them my brakes occasionally squeaked when I backed up and that I needed new windshield wipers. I also told them I needed my car back around 2:00 p.m. and confirmed my phone number so they could call me with an estimate.

At 2:00 p.m., instead of calling me, they called my husband. He was told my car supposedly needed more than $2,000 worth of repairs, including a tune-up, spark plugs, bushings, control arms, brake pads, rotors, an alignment, and an oil change. They also said these repairs would help with my car idling, even though my car has no idling issues and runs great. The only reason I brought it in was to have an occasional brake squeak checked.

I called them back and told them not to do any work. When I arrived, my car was still on the lift even though I told them I wanted to pick it up.

Nathaniel took the time to show me the condition of my brakes and the other components they had recommended replacing. I appreciated that he was respectful and sincere. He also explained that while some of the other items would likely need attention in the future, they were not repairs that had to be done right now. Based on what he showed me, I decided to go ahead with replacing the brake pads and rotors but declined the other recommended work.

Nathaniel told me the brake job would be finished in about an hour. However, when I called at 4:30 p.m., I was told it would be another 30 minutes. By that point, I had already been without my car all day, had plans I couldn't keep waiting on, and was frustrated that the timeline kept changing. I asked if I could pay with a credit card on the phone and pick up my car later this evening from the parking lot, they can lock the keys in the car. Nathaniel, said no problem. When I went back at 8:30 to pick up my car, it was locked in the building and now I am without it for a holiday weekend and have to be at work Monday morning for a meeting at 8:30 am across town.

My disappointment isn't with Nathaniel personally, he was professional, courteous, and honest when explaining what he saw. My frustration is with the overall experience: a simple brake inspection turned into a $2,000-plus estimate for repairs that even the employee acknowledged were future maintenance rather than urgent needs, and the repeated delays left me without transportation for much longer than promised.

I would think twice about going here.

Top notch customer service and automotive work!

I wanna give a specific shoutout to Stacey and Rob. These two individuals made the entire experience of fixing up my old truck a breeze. Super nice, honest, and respectful.

Props to the mechanics that work at this location as well. My brakes were checked, diagnosed, fixed, and working properly within 24 hours!

Recently

Recently, I gave a review on the service I received at brakes plus Higley location they didn’t or did work that I had informed them that the car had already been diagnosed and was told that everything looked good an in working order and had no leaks but brake plus insisted that they had to take some steps whatever that means I think steps mean, add more money to your bill😅
the initial Auto repair shop just couldn’t figure out why the compressor was not working at the time and it was the weekend and they didn’t have time to complete checking it for me, so me being anxious. I ask break plus. Because I needed them to look at the brakes that they had previously done and I just wanting to see if they can see anything else that could be causing the AC not to work so initially, I paid them for something that had already been done😳 but I guess that’s my bad for being anxious and wanting to have AC I am happy to say I took my car back Monday, to the 1st auto repair shop which I should’ve waited in the first place. My AC is now working hooray 🥳 it was electrical problem just a wiring to the compressor that had burnt out
the money I paid brake plus to do what had already been done, could’ve paid for the wiring I had to pay for to get the compressor to work🤦‍♀️ I tell you it’s been a lesson well learned😢 I pray everybody out there find good reliable mechanic that looks out for loyal customers that keep coming back maintain the upkeep of the vehicles without crushing their pocket. I know everybody has to make a maintain the up keeping of their vehicles without empty your pockets. I know everybody has to make a living, but sometimes it makes me wonder if often times folks that advantage and aren’t truthful about repairing your vehicle vehicles because in my previous review I mentioned, I’m a senior on a fix income everybody don’t have money just to throw away. I surely don’t. But I can say I found auto repair shop now🫶 praise God blessings to all.🙏

DO NOT GO TO BRAKES PLUS:

DO NOT GO TO BRAKES PLUS:

My daughter recently had her tires rotated at your Buckeye Arizona location. The service technician rotated the larger tires to the front and smaller tires to the rear incorrectly. This mistake caused the shocks and struts to blow out costing me $1300 in repairs and irreversible damage to the tires that need to be replaced.

I spoke with the region manager John Louis and he said it would take about 2 weeks to retrieve and review the video and get back to me. That took a month. After continued follow up, we finally talked and they admitted the tech made a mistake. He said he would get back to me in a few days to discuss a resolution... That was 3 weeks ago. I've called and texted John multiple times but no response. He's ghosted me!!!

Bottom line, if you can't do a tire rotation correctly, something tech's learn on day 1 of mechanic school, I wonder what can you actually do that I could trust would be done correctly. If ghosting a customer is there way of doing business, it clearly shows how they feel about you as a customer. Completely unprofessional on both fronts. I won't be going back and I suggest you go somewhere else too...

I'll be taking them to small claims court and I'll be asking for more than the $1300 now.

These people do 100% markup on parts…

These people do 100% markup on parts and they know it. $600 for 1 back axle, econo brakes pads, no new rotors, just turned. New caliper on one side that they said broke. I left at that point and was appalled It took them 2-3 hrs to keep calling me and raising the price telling me BS. Calipers do NOT cost $182 each. A few months after that, I realized a clicking noise on the right side. Went to a different Brakes plus. They said the original Brakes Plus shoud have fixed it, then proceeded to write me a quote for another $182. O believe they broke thay caliper too. I won't go back to those AHs. I'm filing a dispute and will file with the Atty General of Colorado and Small Claims Court if I have to.

I was so relieved that Jeff Lopeka helped me when I was without brakes- It turned out that my brake line was failing. I was nervous going somewhere that I wasn't familiar with but he was So knowledgeable and I did not feel ripped off. I checked later with friends who were knowledgeable about breaks and they confirmed that I got a good guy who I can trust in the future
