4.5 stars, because the mobile browser version (the only one I use) needs a refresh after a while, but that could be due to my VPN.

The content has been very effective and overwhelmingly enjoyable. I'm in my second year as a paid subscriber, and obviously I see the value. What follows is much more a product review than a vendor review, but my experience with billing has been simple. Renewals are charged annually, and the amount was what I expected. I've never needed to contact their customer service team.

I have switched to "High Neural Effect" for all the channels I use. In the Sleep category, I only use Deep Sleep, even if I'm crashing only for 45 minutes or so. I've found this channel to be very effective for falling asleep. At night, I use the timer function to set a 30-minute interval for playback in order to get to sleep. I tried the "infinite play" setting, but that tended to wake me up after a few hours.

The Motivation channel in the Focus category works well after a short sleep, to get my mind rolling again. The Light Work and Creativity channels are okay for mundane tasks, but tend to be too glib and "bouncy" for my taste. The best channel in the Focus category is Deep Work, and that's where I spend the bulk of my time, possibly because most things are "deep work" when you overthink them. This "deep work" sort of content is what I was after when I found and first tried Brain.fm. I needed something to diminish my tendency to come up with my own distractions from the technical work on which I wanted to focus. I also needed (and need) to get back on track when people reach out for tech help, after which I have to get back to what I had been working. Deep Work shortens the amount of time it takes to get back to the point of depth I'd arrived at before the interruption. It minimizes the sense of discontinuity by somehow making the interruption feel less invasive. Hard to explain but it's effective. The value of this can be substantial. Search for Brandon C. White's article, "How Long It Takes to Get Back to Your Work after Being Interrupted." It links to source articles, including one survey paper of sixty-five prior studies.

We erroneously made the purchase, not realizing it wasn't a supplement (our fault). The refuse to honor the guarantee, and refuse to refund the money. I have prepaid legal, but for 40 bucks, I'll just say this is not an honorable enterprise. Since we paid for it, I'll listen and review the actual noise, if it hasn't been disabled. Buyer be careful and buyer beware.

I bought test month in discount used app 2 times canceled subscription(can’t delete card you can only swap for other). Yesterday they charged me for 12 month upfront full price. They gona respond to reach support, but I did already and nothing, no ticket, no email nothing. Seeing other reviews makes me think they do this all the time to others. Can’t use other word than SCAM.

Got charged for a subscription that I cancelled a year ago. The account didn't even get marked as renewed, it just stayed expired.

I hope I don't jinx myself by saying this, so touch wood.

Brain.Fm has been a life saver to me, the moment it turns on, it's like my brain can autopilot my work for me, hours pass and my work is finished without me feeling like I've done that much.

I would strongly advise going for the free trial, and if it has the same results as I believe it has done for me, keep going with it, nothing can beat Brain.Fm

It could also just be a placebo, but if it is, I'm very thankful for it as it is actively helping me.

opposite of advertised, became distracted solely to music, also.. random crazy music at lower bandwidth/resolution like a horror movie .. I literally did not write one more line of code after a day of this, probably less.

been a user since 2018. Even though i would like some more features and statistics in the app, the music itself really does the job just fine.

says "Try brain fm for FREE" you give them all your data on your situation, then they say "14 day free trial or 7 day free trial" a) if i have to give you my credit card for a free trial, i dont believe its free, b) if you say for free, let the person give you their data, and then tell them they have to pay money eventually, ITS NOT FREE i hate brain fm with a passion, and it seems like a slight trick to steal your data and sell it to ADVERTISERS, I HATE BRAIN FM (btw i had to go back and remove all the swearing from this review because of how much i hate brain fm)

Even though I have only used the app for a day, it has been amazing. The stuff I could never concentrate on just clicks automatically now. I can finally focus and get work done now. 5/5 stars, would give more if I could. This is the best way to focus if you struggle with it.

I have been trying to get a refund for the past week and a bit now, I originally canceled the free trail before ending as I wasnt ready to pay £180 for a whole year, I work for minimum wage and this wasnt affordable to the time. Im writing this review to make the company aware that this is the disgraceful and you must get in contact with me and refund my money!

The app is full of bugs and no longer works. I reached out to Customer Service and the only solution they offer is more bugs and broken app. This is epensive for an app that you cannot use. They offered no remedy or apology.

I also fell for the cancellation trap on my trial. I first thought I forgot to cancel but I set myself a calendar reminder. Interestingly I got charged before this event - this was in February tough and I somehow just bit into the bittersweet apple of having actually a working and solid product with evil business practices.

Edit: brain.fm support refunded me my money which at least shows good support qualities, so I'm increasing from two to three stars.

I hate how it kept charging me money without my consent, how it didn’t notify me before my free trial was over. Absurd amount of money is demanded.

I canceled my Brain.FM subscription last year and recently received a renewal charge of €61 with no warning.
I have not used the service since canceling and did not authorize this payment. I've now had to contact their support team to request a refund. Very disappointing experience — if you subscribe, make sure to monitor your bank statements carefully. I cancelled again today for renewal for the next year yet again they didnt provide any confirmation that you have. It is a shame that they prey on people with attention disorder to make them second guess.

I will update this review depending on how they handle my refund request.

never used it. im just fed up of the constant adverts while im trying to revise, i'm finally beating procrastination and you're interrupting me once every 3 minutes? i dont want your music.

I'm a stickler for cancelling subscriptions before it expires, especially it is something I knew wasn't for me. But Brain.FM kept charging me anyway. I'm filing a bank complaint.
