So, my 2019 BMW X2 develops a warning light to check the transmission oil & drivetrain. Only got 24,000 miles on the clock and it’s a sealed unit (transmission). I contact the BMW dealer in Cambourne (Cambridegeshire). I get told that it will cost over £240 just to put it on the computer. Then get told I’ll need to leave it for the whole day and if I need a rental, I need to pay the insurance on the rental and it will be a month before they can get to it.
Called around, found these guys (specialists car repair, tuneup). Wow! Incredible! They got me in within 2 days, checked out the issue and I got a full itemized quote. I arranged to have the work done 3 days later. Dropped off the car, walked home, walked back 6 hours later and all done perfectly! Experts without a doubt and so very personable too! Did mention how reasonable the price was overall? Puts dealership prices to shame! So very happy, I know where I will be taking all my future car needs.

Well, where do I start with this fabulous company? I was looking for a specific car for my wife and until I found Barr-Tech, I had viewed 8 examples and covered 600 miles in the process. 7 of the ‘examples’ were at small car dealers who clearly believe misleading, misdescribing and outright lying are the way to do business. Fast forward a few weeks and I find the very car I was searching for at Barr-Tech, only they’re 200 miles away. After viewing their website and company ethos, I was confident that an honest and accurate appraisal of the car would be given. I am delighted to say this is EXACTLY what I received from my initial phone call with Nino. What a gent! But he didn’t stop there. He also utilised FaceTime to slowly walk round the car, panel by panel, describing any imperfection, such as a tiny stone chip. After this digital viewing and Nino’s verbal appraisal, I trusted his expertise knowing I wasn’t about to embark on a lengthy train journey to view something that was not as described. Unlike 7 other traders I could mention. I was that confident with Nino that I didn’t even bother paying the extra for a return train ticket, as I just knew I’d be driving the car home that day. I arrived at Cambridge North train station where Nino was already waiting to collect me. As soon I saw the car from 30 yards away I could see it was straight and genuine. Exactly what I’d be searching for for weeks and many hundreds of miles. I was offered a coffee straight away (lovely touch) and the car was being as described, I didn’t need to do my usual 20 minute forensic (almost!) walk around of the car.
Needless to say I, the car was coming home with me. What further impressed me and should be mentioned here, is that although the car was at the lower end of the market at under £5,000, and not a vehicle Barr-Tech would usually be selling, I was treated no less favourably than if I had £60,000 in my pocket. Thank you Nino for such an honest, genuine, pleasant, reliable experience that did not go unnoticed. The little car has come to a good home and will be very well looked after by this enthusiast. If anyone finds a car they’re looking for which happens to be advertised at Barr-Tech, be 100% confident that the car will be right and you will not have a wasted journey. My Audi TT roadster is a much beloved vehicle, and it was without any qualms that I delivered it to Nino, knowing that the body work I requested would be brilliantly carried out.
It was almost dark when I collected the vehicle and I couldn't see quite how superbly they had restored the bodywork as I requested - it was beautifully carried out - a labour of love. I'd also requested a valet - despite the fact that the boot was embarrassingly full of clutter.
I can't tell you how delighted I was with the result of the work - above and beyond my already high expectations! Always a delight to work with them. Thank you Nino and team!

We travelled 350 miles to purchase a vehicle from Nino, who was absolutely wonderful. Prior to our visit he kept us well informed and sent numerous pictures of said vehicle, which turned out to be better in the flesh, than we anticipated.
On arrival, we were warmly greeted with a very welcome coffee and croissants.

There i was thinking old school customer service was dead, until i purchased a used SLK 280 from Barr Tech Specialist Cars. It's a shame that all businesses are not run to this company's template, they are without doubt the gold standard in customer service. Nino, who handled my purchase was honest, helpful and efficient, i would recommend them to anybody, beyond 5 star service.

We have used Barr-Tech for nearly 15 years to carry out servicing and repairs on our Porsche Boxster. In all that time we have always had excellent service and felt very confident that they will sort out any problems. And they do.
When the time came to sell the Porsche we turned to Barr-Tech again and they relieved us of the hassle and in a short space of time found us a buyer.

Such great service from these guys at Barr-Tech, can’t thank them enough. Had a deep scratch on the back of my car from a cyclist going into the back of me. Nino got me booked in straight away and gave me a lovely little courtesy car whilst my work was being done. My car was in and ready to collect within 24 hours, although I could not pick my car up straight away, Nino said it was fine for me to keep hold of the courtesy car for another day or so. After the work was done they gave the car a full wash, when i went to pick the car up it looked immaculate like it did the day I brought it from the showroom. Would 100% recommend these guys to carry out any work on your vehicles.

We recently purchased a Fiat Seicento from Barr-Tech.
Living 200 miles away, and being in the middle of Covid-19 lockdown was not an ideal situation, and we couldn’t visit to check the car out first, but Nino at Barr-Tech was beyond helpful , in all communications , in providing videos , and photos of every aspect, including any very slight marks on the car, the engine running, a walk underneath to show how perfect she is, all service documents and paperwork, and in talking through with us any of the questions we had regarding the car. He even told us exactly how the 6 month warranty would work, and managed to sort out a really good delivery firm to bring the car to us , once we had decided we wanted her.
The purchase went very smoothly, with regular contact through the days , letting us know how the car was getting on with her Mot ( she failed on 1 tyre and water pump , plus 2 advisory tyres. ) all the jobs were sorted out for us and the after care has also been exceptionally good. We had one slight teething trouble which was sorted very easily by Barr-Tech negotiating with our local garage.
I would say having had experience with numerous car sales garages through the last 3 decades (i’m in my 50s now ) , that Barr-Tech has been the best.
Honest, very courteous and helpful, meticulous in providing information prior to, and after purchase, and ensuring our satisfaction, and absolutely easing the purchase and delivery of our new baby car ( which will be treasured ) during the difficult time of Covid Lockdown . My father and I recently bought a C32 AMG from Nino at Bar-Tech, and it has to be one of the best experiences of purchasing a car we have had. Nino is very welcoming, transparent and proud of their family business. Whilst on site we saw some of the work Barr-Tech were carrying out on other cars, and the standards we saw gave us the confidence that we were buying from the right place. Even so, that we’re thinking about having work done on another car we own with Barr-Tech...even though we’re 100 miles away!

Just got my car back from Barr Tech. It had to have a complete re-spray down one side of the car to correct some poorly executed work by the previous owner. The reviews of Bar Tech that I read on trust pilot and google seemed too good to be true, but I can assure you they are accurate. I was very nervous about leaving them my pride an joy, and I think Nino could tell. He invited me back during the work to inspect the work in progress and I knew then I made the right choice. Nino was very transparent and honest about the work involved and the costs. The attention to detail and quest for perfection was as if it was their own car, not mine. When it comes to the costs, I felt I got fantastic value for money. I just picked it up and I was not disappointed. It's perfect, better than new. I cannot recommend them enough.

I took my car to Barr Tech for some bodywork and for some cosmetic work. We had a look round the car and had a chat to decide what’s best. I was put at ease straight away. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy.
I’m really happy with the work carried out, it’s like a new car!
