Very unclear parking situation at Kokpunkten, Västerås
During our visit to Kokpunkten in Västerås, we used EasyPark and selected the parking zone that was shown in the app over the parking area where our car was parked.
The app allowed us to start and pay for a parking session, so naturally we believed we had parked and paid correctly.
When we returned to the car, however, we found a 500 SEK parking charge.
We later learned that the EasyPark zone we had selected was intended for staff only and also required a special parking permit.
As foreign visitors, this was far from clear to us when we parked. The fact that EasyPark displayed the zone over that parking area and allowed us to pay for it made the situation even more confusing.
We appealed the charge and provided evidence showing that we had an active EasyPark session during the entire parking inspection. Aimo rejected our appeal, stating that we had selected the wrong zone. We eventually paid the 500 SEK to avoid further costs and complications with our rental car.
Of course, drivers have a responsibility to check the parking signs and conditions. However, I also believe a parking system should be clear enough that someone who is actively trying to pay for their parking does not so easily end up paying for a zone that is not valid for them.
A warning to other visitors to Kokpunkten: do not rely solely on the zone shown on the EasyPark map or on the fact that the app allows you to start a paid parking session. Carefully check the signs, exact zone number and whether an additional permit is required.
A very disappointing experience, especially when we had made a genuine effort to pay correctly.
I got a fine for having no ticket
I got a fine for having no ticket. I was late but i paid for the parkinglot. In the meantime there was a check. I paid only 8 minutes later than the fine and you can park half an hour free. I was in at 12.10 and paid 12.24 and fined at 12.18. The second problem is the closing time of 18.00 hours. Since we had dinner in Karlskrona and didnot know this closing time the parking was closed. The man from the sushi bar let us and another family out. I suggest better information. Aimo you have a very bad customer unfriendly policy and have to change a lot. People: stay away from this company. More than 1300 bad reviews. Aimo you should be ashamed!
Easy to overlook and manage my order…
Easy to overlook and manage my order using the Aimo App.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I got a parking ticket for being parked at a gym; all gym members have 2 hours of free parking, and I was barely parked longer than 1 hour and got a ticket. I've messaged them, called them; I am even on a call right now. I was told I'll get help in "8 minutes." That was 25 minutes ago. Ofc they do this on purpose because they just want people to pay up and not bother with contacting them. Terrible, greedy company.
Unethical leeches
The same parking lot had two zone codes, one for cars and one for campers. Because the GPS didnt work on the broken aimo app I had too look for the zone codes and accidently picked the one for campers. I thought the parking was expensive but i paid in full. Later on a got a huge fine for picking the wrong code. Since I had already paid for the same parking, but for bigger vehicles I gathered the evidence and the reciept and sent it to Aimo because but no they want me to pay the huge fine despite paying more than I should for the same parking. Unethical leeches. It is all I can say.
I hate them so much
I hate them so much.
Paid for parking but wrote 1 digit wrong in my license plate. And got a fine that they wont cancel even though i paid for parking. Talk about no human feelings for people. Cant recommend Sweden to visit. They are cold people, angry and not helpful at all.
When you stop for few minutes only to…
When you stop for few minutes only to hand over charity to Erikshjälpen and get. 500kr fine is not make any sense. Congratulations for your service.
No control
The app confirms my 30-minute parking extension, but then it doesn't show up anywhere and I get a ticket.
I am totally sure I saw the ‘stop parking’ button and that the parking extension was going on correctly: i have total control on those situations and I use Easypark and other companies all the time without having any troubles.
What a disgrace: never again AIMO park, I will not park if needed.
The worst car park in Sweden is the one…
The worst car park in Sweden is the one at Punkt in centre of Västerås. It is run by Aimo Park. Recently we used it for one overnight. In the morning we paid for the stay and left the car park. About a week later we received a fine for overstaying of 1500 sek. We did have some problem withe Aimo app which is vague and difficult to follow and we inadvertently doubled our car so although we had left the 'car' remained in in the car park. Aimo have not reponded to our side of the story, that our car was in Söderkoping at the time of the fine. Under threat of prosecution we have decided to pay the fine. I urge anyone reading this who visits Västerås: do not use Aimopark, Punkt - in fact do not use this scam company in any location whatsoever.
Don't use it
Don't use it, they fine when you have already paid for the ticket.
Tried appeal and they are helpful as a brick wall. Given evidence but dont care. AVOID!
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, terrible app, terrible website. They are extremely abusive and should lose all their government contracts to handle parking
Worst possible Parking service
One of the worst app used. The worst service possible. Had someone parked in my "RESERVED" parking lot and they told me to park 2 BLOCKS AWAY until the person takes their car. I am guessing the company is low on budget, and started fining petty fines waiting in parking lots like leeches to prey on cars that are parked 10 mins before the avgift tid ends (free 3 hrs). Be aware of Aimo parking lots and be extra careful.
We parked three cars in the aimo Park…
We parked three cars in the aimo Park nacka Stockholm. We purchased three Tickets for the correct time and placed them in the windshield and we still got a fee because apparently they weren‘t visible. Aimo Park refuses to send us photos to proof. Don‘t park there you will be scammed!
Terrible company with low standards
Terrible company with low standards, parked my regular personal vehicle in a regular parkinglot for class 1 personal vehicles and got a 1000kr fine for "wrong car classtype" 💀
You cant make this up, one time i used their sms parking, ONCE and got a 500kr bill home to pay for using their phone services.
Terrible.
Unclear payment - high fine
Absolutly unclear how to pay and a 60 kr fine for paying late (for parking that was 17 kr). Predatory.
what a thieves
what a thieves, is this sweden?
what a corruption!!
their online page for appealing is turned off.
I've paid in the app correct time and zone, this is f... up
A company that does not understand its customers
A company that really does not understand its customers. The parking spaces are not maintained e.g. following snowfall, and if you are five minutes past the parking time limit someone is there to fine you half of a monthly parking fee. I understand it’s a business and that there are terms for parking, but it’s also good customer service to give a tiny bit of slack to loyal customers. You must be happy that you don’t have real competitors.
Charged for parking when I was in another country
It's now Dec, but following a visit in June when I had a rental car for a few days, I've just now been charged for parking on the 30th Nov. Their app does not make it clear that their is an 'auto-charge' function so somebody else has parked there, and I've been charged. I've raised this with their Customer service team who have been very dismissive and are refusing to engage in further conversation to resolve this. I feel it's very unfair that they have knowingly charged me for parking, when I'm not even in the country. This was their response on the 3rd Dec "When a vehicle is added to the account and camera recognition (Autopay/Camera Parking) is active, the system automatically registers entries and charges for that vehicle until it is manually removed or the feature is deactivated. This is stated in the service terms and conditions." Terrible customer service, avoid if you can.
Aimo parking continues its predatory (…
Aimo parking continues its predatory ( everything-up-grab) behavior. Today , one of the many illetrate and rude goons of Aimo issued me a fine of 400 SEK on a communal / public parking which is allotted for patients and visitors on Bjorkenäs road within the premises of the maternal clinic in Kalmar. Obviously the parking lot is very spacious and you can park there for three hours without any charge ( courtesy of Kalmar Kommun). I drove to the clinic with my pregnant wife for her regular check-up . The visit lasted 30 minutes upon exiting the clinic I discovered the fine ticket and I called Aimos customer service whence the rude agent told me that the reason for the fine was unreadable parking clock disc that was set not from 09:00 but from 08:45. Upon saying that there is a 3-hour window free of charge parking , she goes into an irrational rant monologue that I should set the parking time-disc from 09:00 instead of 08:45. Nevertheless, one should not blame Aimo parking goons (so-called proctors) because nobody else would employ them. Their competence is circumscribed only to issuing fines left-&right for no plausible reason and getting away with it. Aimos greed knows no bounds even on communal /municipal parking property within a public clinic premises. At least I am happy that Aimo Park is losing the residencial parking contract north of Kalmar during the coming February and Rikshem as property owner is taking back the charge and this transfer speaks volumes of Aimo’s incompetent handling of parking spaces. May predatory Aimo vanish from every nook and cranny of this country so that the people can park with peace of mind in publicly allotted parking spaces without having to worry about Aimo’s ghoulish goons around.
